Bethune College's Psychology department gives the students a proper guide to fight against the increasing psychological issues of modern virtual world. Admission for the postgraduate course in Applied Psychology demands graduate degree in Psychology subject. Minor category students get the mark concession from the college. Admission is strictly done on the basis of merit.

Bethune College was the first ever all Girls college in Asia and has made quite a mark throughout its 140+ years history which made it a popular option for my MA. The college was placed 77th by Outlook and 74th by IndiaToday for their respective 2021 rankings of Art's category. It is NAAC accredited with A Grade and is affiliated to Calcutta University. Admission to the PG programme is based upon Merit as well as Admission test performance of applicants.

The second year students are eligible for placement facilities. Usually, 20-30% of the crowd gets placed but students opt for higher education and tend to focus on their academics. They often go for Msc or Mca courses to enhance their knowledge in the subject which also helps in better placement offers in the long run.

Around 95% of the students get placements after completing the final semester from our college. The average salary package offered was 4.5 LPA. TCS, Infosys and Wipro are the top recruiting companies in our college. Most of the students are not interested in placements. They want to opt for higher studies i.e. MSc and PhD.

Students become eligible for campus placement during their third year of academics. Companies like TCS, HDFC BANK, Haldia Petrochemicals, WB Electrical Department visit our college and recruit students at the time of campus placements. The highest package offered is 9.7 lakhs per annum and the lowest package offered is 3.3 lakhs per annum. Around 70% of the total final year students get placed during the campus placements.

I love this subject and hence, I chose it. The faculty-student ratio is 3:20. All the students get deserving attention. Faculties are well-qualified and the methodology is supreme. There have been delays in the conveyance of curriculums but exams are not at all difficult to pass. If you have a good understanding of the subject, it is going to be easy.

From the 5th semester, students will be eligible for campus placement. Many recognized companies like TCS, WIPRO, etc. visited and offered a job with a healthy salary after the selection process. Maximum percentages of students from Bethune College are getting placements in recognized companies. I also got selected in TCS. But my plan was to continue my post graduation degree, so I left the job opportunity. My future plan is to complete my pg degree in clinical psychology and after that, I want to complete my MPhil.

The factors that made the college to be chosen is the facilities and faculties that are provided by the college. As a B.A. honors student the faculties will be fair enough and friendly enough to clear our doubts and the college is providing the same which I have wanted. apart from that about the hygiene the college is also eco friendly and the nature of the campus is very good.

First of all I have looked for the good infrastructure and I have had that in this college. Secondly the most important thing for me is the faculties and facilities that are providing by the college authority is the primary thing. But here also the college impressed me a lot and thereby I have selected the college.

Bethune college is the first women's college in Asia. As it's a renowned college and one of the oldest college in kolkata, infrastructure is no doubt very good. Equipments in laboratories and books in libraries are enough as needed on the basis of syllabus. Science and arts libraries are separate, wifi is available. Sports centre opens only for few days before annual sports. Rest of the year it remains closed. The food available in the canteen are of reasonable price and hygienic.
