The fees structure of delhi university is very simple we have to pay fees semester wise and delhi university fees is also very low .so that's the part i really liked about delhi university .yes delhi university provides scholarship also.
They are very well experienced and most are phd holders, even the guest lecturers are so talented and inspiring and have a way to handle the students.
Last but not the least i liked the infrastructure too..the new building is just awesome. it is the best building among all the colleges.

Dislikes

The benches in the classroom is bad. the white board is also not good
The entrance exam was good but the normalisation process was very disappointed which was for no reason and the biggest game player was obviously the reservation quota(sc/st/obc).
Some teachers are very bad in teaching and they does not focus on student

An Enriching Blend of Academics, Culture, and Community: My College Experience

Likes

Teachers are experienced and knowledgeable
Friendly atmosphere in college with no feuds and inter departmental connections are easy to make and maintain which is a big plus
Green campus with lot of plants and greeneries. Also new building is gonna open soon which will be biggest in all of Delhi university colleges with all the modern and state to art facilities

Dislikes

New building of 11 floors is ready from last 2 years still not opened
Canteen is not really upto the mark , food quality not okay
Sports ground is not fit for use , although work has been going on it

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always been a biology student so choosing zoology was normal to me , the curriculum is really wide and covers all expect especially after introduction of NEP , we generally have 3 core papers then a GE (General Elective) a SEC and a VAC with AEC. From 3rd year onwards we have 3 Core , 1 GE , 1DSE and 1 SEC course Exams morally happens after 4 months but internal goes on all through the semester . The difficulty level is okay not very tough just decent . And papers are all from what is taught. Here GE - general elective SEC - Skill enhancement course VAC - value addition course DSE - Discipline specific elective

If you don't get north campus college you can consider Zakir Hussain delhi college

Likes

Some of the zoology faculty were best in DU
Museum is very good they have all the specimens required
Library facilities are very good books are easily available

Dislikes

Crowd is not as good as I expected from a du college
No college trips even though we had trips in our syllabus
No ground, no sports activity, poor infra structure the new building is not open

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course provide in-depth knowledge of the subject at bachelor level it prepares you for your masters. Practical play a important role. It doesn't make you industry ready but helps you build up your base. Exams are not too difficult

I liked the Exposure that college offers to the students.
I also kind of adore some of the professer.
Lastly, It have a nice library which gives a peaceful environment.

Dislikes

I hate hate hate the College politics their.
The infrastructure was not so good, It was awful.
Students, I will say they are so violent like every time they were creating scenes.

I will say I don't wanted this course but as I was now clear that I like physics and I had a chance of physics honours but I choosed the program where I studied all three physics, chemistry and maths. The awareness about the program is very low you got chance to find what you like and finally talking about the exam timing it was little strange bcz there were undisturbuted gap between them where gap wasn't needed it was there . It can be improved. The teaching methods were quite similar and traditional their.

Zakir Hussain college to go for

Likes

The new building which is recently constructed is pretty decent
The faculty is very experienced and there is a lot to learn from them
The college has a big ground for the students to participate in certain activities

Dislikes

The old building needs the construction urgently
In the classrooms ain't having any ACS so it's very difficult to sit in the class during the summers
College campus isn't very big but it is fine

Placement Experience:

After the second semester the students are eligible for campus placements the certain companies like ICICI and other bank affiliated companies visits the college for placement purposes The average package offered by our college would be 5 lakhs per annum and the highest would be around 13 to 14 lacs per annum Around 85% of the students got place last year

College has a very good and calm environment.
There is so much interaction with students of every branch of other courses.
Generally bsc students of bcom students get placement from this college.

Dislikes

The infrastructure of this college is not good rather it has an new one.
There is no fest or events in this college.
Involvement of extracurricular activities in this college is very low.

I have opt this course because I like physics and also interested in electronics. This course helps us to know about the functioning of how electrical appliance work . It's should be practically more easy to get it.it give maxm time to prepare for ur exam .

ZHDC in and out! It's a DU college fellas!

Likes

Welcoming Psychology Department, gives importance to the subject of which it is worth.
Meticulous and hardworking Professors. Although, there are some of the professors that are lazy or do not take much classes, BUT THERE ARE MORE PROFESSORS WHO LOVE TEACHING.
Zakir Husain Delhi College is the oldest college, therefore it has a legacy.

Dislikes

The cleanliness of the washrooms can be maintained.
There were certain infrastructure problems that could have been taken care of, such as the benches could be renewed, the fans and the ceiling could be repaired.

Course Curriculum Overview:

PSYCHOLOGY can never be "out-of-relevance". The course is actually very relevant in todays time. I guess eacj andd every one should have the knowledge about the HUMAN PSYCHE in order to function to our full potential. The course is comprehensive and also very doable at the same time as there are not many things to take care of its just exams and practicals that needs to be dealt with.

Teachers are really good, talented and helpful. They put so much efforts teaching a particular subject
The college itself is very good as it is a historic college of 300 years of history.
College has a new building now with a great infrastructure.

Dislikes

Canteen area is beautiful but can be more beautiful if it get renovated.
The new building has not opened yet hope to get opened soon.
College infrastructure can be more good as it is too old now.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Teachers are good and talented.. as i am a student of English hons. And there's a teacher name anuradha marwah she is a great writer so obviously zakir has great teacher but i feel somewhere some of the teachers should be more punctual.

A first look at Zakir Husain Delhi College.

Likes

The faculty is really helpful when it comes to personal or academic matters. You can share your problems with them and expect a sense of understanding.
The transport facilities are brilliant as compared to other off campus colleges as Zakir Hussain has it's own bus stop. Delhi gate and New Delhi metro stations aren't far as well, making bus and metro travels very easy.
The quality of social interactions has been great. I haven't experienced any sort of discrimination or ragging. The seniors of almost all departments are very welcoming and helpful.

Dislikes

The college sports facilities aren't that great. Grass hasn't been trimmed in more than a month. The football team has to find alternative playgrounds to practice.
The new building of the college, though looks brilliant, hasn't been opened for students in years and there isn't any real progress on this situation as well currently.
The college canteen is below average, the quality and taste of food isn't that good and the eating area is not cleaned regularly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum for history involves many activities and trips which makes the curriculum very interesting as well as real. Within a month of college, our department has been on three different historical walks to different monuments of Delhi. This way of teaching promotes the student's curiosity to learn and dig deeper into the world.

The college has a great library with air conditioning which are the pros for me
Has cheap and good canteen and big campus
The college is also close to the metro which is a 5 mins walk

Dislikes

The buildings are really old and my classrooms don't even have air conditioning
Classes get cancelled most of the time so you have to be ready for the frustrating experience
You're on your own here in college if you're from the northeast

So about the placements I've not received any info regarding philosophy honours but I'm sure the college gives internships and other minor courses for a reason so as to not waste our year studying only Philo coz some people eventually start having different interests in life

There is one of the biggest library in Delhi university colleges with all the courses related books and all types of news paper too and the news paper there was in 3-4 languages Hindi English and urdu and Bengali sometimes
There is separated buildings for all the subjects like Science buildings and Commerce building and administrative building
Fully wifi enabled campus where every individual has its own username and password for its wifi usage

Dislikes

This college has no hostel of its own due to which most of the outside Delhi students have to face so many problems
This college also not have its own Park and play ground so every one had to go outside to play any sports
The cafeteria of the college is in very congested area and it needs to be reinnovate

Placement Experience:

So there is Placement cell which organises Placement fair every year and final year students are eligible for campus placement but due to Covid -19 in our time the placement fair was affected and but overall the placement ratio of this college is not that good as they higher lesser students for their grades than for social experience and comuter languages

As much as I could gather information about Zakir Husain Delhi College DU from some of my friends, everyone gives almost similar responses and reviews about the college.

In terms of infrastructure, the college has a chance to compete with the prestigious and leading colleges out there. The campus includes Wi-Fi, a magnificent green space, inspiring classrooms, elevators for those with disabilities, a canteen with an affordable menu, a mother dairy, and practice-friendly labs.

The professors are incredibly helpful for both personal and professional matters.

In today’s world, online education may be difficult, but they have adapted successfully. They are also excellent with offline material. The courses cover everything in detail and prepare students to take on real-world issues in the workplace. Exams during the semester are neither very difficult nor difficult. Students can pass with ease if they are properly prepared and have studied.
