WCC Admission 2025 FAQs

Ques. Can I get into WCC Chennai with 73%?

Ans. Admission to Women’s Christian College (WCC) in Chennai depends on several factors, including the specific course you are applying for, the overall pool of applicants, and the college’s admission criteria for that academic year.

A 73% may be considered competitive for some undergraduate programs, but the cut-off can vary based on the program’s popularity and demand. For example, courses like English, Psychology, or Commerce might have higher cut-offs compared to other disciplines.

To get the most accurate and up-to-date information on cut-offs and admission requirements, it's best to visit the official WCC website or contact the admissions office directly.

Ques. How is the English department at WCC?

Ans. The English department at WCC is amazing. Students chose to study BA English because of the variety of courses offered, such as Journalism, Advertising, Eco-Literature, and Theatre. The professors are not only passionate about teaching but also highly knowledgeable in their fields.

Ques. Will a BSc in psychology from WCC Chennai get me anywhere in life?

Ans. A BSc in Psychology from WCC in Chennai provides a solid foundation for various careers, but its value depends on factors like further education, internships, and specialization. While it can lead to entry-level roles in fields like human resources, marketing, and mental health support, many students pursue higher studies to access more specialized positions. Gaining experience through internships and certifications in areas like clinical psychology or organizational psychology can boost job prospects. The degree helps build key skills in understanding human behavior, research, and communication. However, the job market can be competitive, and advanced degrees or specialized training are often needed for many psychology-related roles.

Ques. What is the process if I miss the application deadline?

Ans. If you miss the application deadline, you may not be considered for admission for that academic year. It’s important to apply before the last date. However, you can check the official website for any extension of deadlines or late application options (if available).

Ques. Is there an entrance exam for admission?

Ans. WCC generally does not conduct an entrance exam for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Admission is based on merit (marks obtained in Class 12 for UG and Bachelor’s degree for PG). However, some specific programs may have additional requirements like interviews or written tests, so it's important to check the course-specific guidelines on the official website.

Ques. Can I apply for multiple courses at WCC?

Ans. Yes, candidates can apply for multiple courses, but they must submit separate applications for each program. The eligibility criteria must be met for each course applied to.

Admission:

I had applied for Bsc Psychology in Women's Christian college, Stella Maris, Madras school of social work and Presidency college.I got into all the colleges i had applied for but WCC was the first to relase its admission reults plus WCC is popular for Psychology in Chennai. so when i got in i Joined immediately. I didn't opt for Stella because it was strict about the dress code even when went for provisional admission process. Madras School for social work and presidency came in very late and by then i had already got adapted to WCC so i did not join MSSW or Presidency. so for all these colleges, I had to submit my application form with my 12th mark sheet and other documents, there was no entrance test or interview. overall the admission process was completely online so it was hassle free. after the application is accepted, the students have to go to the college for document verfication within the given time slot and following that the staff will give information about when college starts and all.

Admission:

I applied to Madras Christian College and Mount Carmel, Bangalore. And I got admission in both of them. But WCC had already opened by the time and I really liked the atmosphere of the college and its faculties. So I chose to stay. The admission process for WCC is completely online. The admission is purely merit based. There are no cutoffs but higher marks are preferred. (12 Standars marks) . There are no exams for UG admission. The admission process is mentioned in the website and is pretty easy to follow. The follow up email is given almost the very next day.

Admission:

I had applied at Madras School of Social Work for Bachelors in Psychology and also at Women's Christian College for Bachelor's in Computer Science. I opted out of the Psychology course since it was my second choice if incase, Information Technology did not work out. For the Computer Science course, I did not get it because I missed the mark cut off for that course. There was no separate eligibility exam for the course since it was an arts college but standard 12 marks were important. The admission process started with application form submission then confirmation from the college then document submissions and the fee payment.

Admission:

I applied to Women's Christian College as it does not have a Co-education system and is an all-girls college, one other reason that I chose WCC is that it has quite a good reputation in Chennai and Tamilnadu. This college also has good placement opportunities and the course I wanted was only available in this college. The admission process was quite smooth and the selection process did not take a long time as well, quick responses and processes were finished . the eligibility for my course usually requires mathematics in 11th and 12 but in my college, even computer applications and English students can apply if the core aggregate is high. The overall admission process was quite smooth and hassle free if you have all the required documents set and ready for the process.
