A good college for starting your new journey

I love that our professors are very chill and they encourage us to ask them doubts not only in class but also through text. I really appreciate how they teach us and keep a one to one relation. I feel really comfortable in asking for their advice.
I am really fond of our campus,as one can chill in the amphi or basketball court and also do their academic work in the reading rooms. Every class has a smart board which makes it easy to understand stuff.
As I have opted for a triple major of history, economics and political science I feel they do a pretty good job in making it a theory as well as a practical experience. As they organise many historical walks, some interesting talks and seminars.

Dislikes

One thing I don't like is the very strict dress code which is not that bad but sometimes it gets a little exhausting.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

being a student of a triple major course, i find the curriculum very interesting and well made. its not just theoretical but also focuses on field knowlegde.
particularly my professors have really well versed expertise in their respective fields and are also invested in our personal growth
there is a wide number of events that happen on a daily basis with makes the campus lively and provides us with the much needed cultural exposure.

Dislikes

for me personally, the workload of a triple major gets pretty high sometimes as all three subjects are theoretical, i sometimes feel overwhelmed by the coursework
when i first came here, the dress code was an issue. we cant wear sleeveless tops or kurtis, nothing translucent, no crop tops, no dresses that arent below knees, but gradually we all got institutionalised.
we are a very popular college in bangalore and our annual fest - cul-ah is known as the queen of fests and it gets really crowded during that time but our college isnt big enough to accommodate the entire crowd.

Placement Experience:

i am actually not much aware about the placements of my college cause i plan on completing my masters after this. but last year a undergrad girl from the communications department got a placement of 24lpa which is really impressive. the average placement is also pretty decent - 7lpa

The faculty members at MCC are very helpful and kind
The course curriculum is very well designed to cater the needs of the students.
The college fests are very well organised

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the college needs to be improved and renovated.
The college canteen food needs to be improved.
The washrooms are not hygienic. It needs to be cleaned properly.

Placement Experience:

From 4th semester, students become eligible for campus placements and internships. MCC provides its students with a variety of renowned company's placements and internships. The average package starts from ?10 LPA.

Faculty is experienced and enrich us. It is a good course.
The course is structured in a way which allows you to take a bigger step with each year in terms of academics
The class is small so it allows them to focus on each of us individually.

Dislikes

College resources exist but are not available to us. For example the macs in our lab’s dont work
Very little extra curricular opportunities and activities.
MCC takes all the money you win at contests which is discouragement from the get go.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think i decided upon wanting to do this course because of the additional advantages of it not being based entirely on Journalism and journalistic skills which i found useful for myself. We explore a lot of options with papers and eventually experience everything which makes your choices for the future easier.

My Experience at Mount Carmel College

Likes

The campus is quite neat and well maintained.
Till last year, it was an all girls college, which felt safer.
The courses are quite affordable, making it accessible for students from various backgrounds.

Dislikes

There is absolutely no space for criticisms with the management. The management is very authoritarian and does not listen to student voices.
Washrooms are not of great quality. Sometimes there is no water in the washrooms either.
The student council is nominated by the management and works as a puppet of the management, not addressing student concerns at all.

Placement Experience:

After the 2nd year, you are offered the option to register for placements. Various companies like Goldman Sachs, EY and NGOs like TeachForIndia visit the college yearly for placements. I am not very aware of the placement scenario in the college as I am planning on pursuing my masters immediately after college and hence, am not looking to get placed. The placement cell in the college is very functional however, and give time-to-time updates about placements and internship opportunities.

Its a good college everything provided i just lived it
The campus is very good felt like heaven and was relaxing
Teachers were also good but economic teacher were bit strict

Dislikes

Economic teachers were used to make feel down and never use to encourage
There were good people and we use to have computers and advance technologi willy
I will suggest to take subject which you are interested and never depend on frnd they betray

Coosing courses were there we can choose accordingly and if we want to chang3 we can even channge ut and the academic are good and they were good teaching nice teachers and principle help sttudents and treat well

Mcc, Where dreams come true

Likes

The courses the college offers are comparatively more than what other colleges offer. And it's a perfect balance between co curricular and academics.
Boys came into Mcc only this year, so boys ratio to girls might be 10:100, it is a new everyones for girls who studied in an all girls college. I think it was required.
The placements are very accurate and very seriously taken in mcc, i think they're very good at it. The staffs in mcc is very cooperative, and very well experienced.

Dislikes

The bathrooms, but i think that's very common
The behaviour of the students they're a little arrogant
The size is the college, it's quite small but doesn't really feel like it. But it is.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course was very hyped for the programmes it offered. It obviously gave such good programmes which opens door for such great placements and opportunities. The curriculum prepares us with the aim of the real world only I don't think the course needs improvement in anything. There are guest lecturers also who come to teach us. It's great. Exams are only for 2 or 3 hours it's very convenient.

A blunt review of MCC

Likes

The fests, which are very interactive and fun
There are random celebrations with music and dance prior to fests
Psychology faculty is amazing and informative

Dislikes

The administration is little off, as they will inform you everything last moment
Dress code is kinda strict and repressive
They dont give holidays to major hindu festivals like holi or bhai doojh

Placement Experience:

I dont know much about placements for psychology as i wanted to continue my studies further but there is decent placent opportunities for commerce students in mcc. Some of my friends from that department got placed.

Our Home/ MCC

So at my first year of college, I used to hate it soo much that I used to cry to go but now in my second year, I can’t leave this place…It’s like Home for me…
I love all the teachers in this college, they are so friendly and they teach so well and ofc they will always win your hearts…they teach us to be the best and discipline…
All the staff, the council members and the fests in this college is so fun…just love it

Dislikes

I hate my batch of students cause they are very rude and bitchy…
Not that great college facilities, the clocks don’t work, fans stop working, class smells so badly
The only thing which is actually bad in this college is that,you have to go for extra classes otherwise 3% goes down when u miss an enhancement class although you attended all the regular classes for the day

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually I chose this course because I love Psychology...it's a very interesting subject,psychology studies the human mind,emotions and the behaviour of humans and animals and why they act they way they act,I don't really think there should be any further improvement cause it's all good right now.we have a good psychology teacher...The exams are not that hard but you still have to study a lot of experiments and everything...

Students can apply for internships from third semester and start applying for jobs from 5th semester. Average package students from my course have gotten is 5LPA. Highest was 12LPA. I hope to land a job as an investment banker or such after completion of degree.

What is your review of Mount Carmel College Bangalore?

Mount Carmel College is one of the finest in Bangalore. It has received star college award for the science department. The campus has a great student crowd with fantastic energy.

The college has good infrastructure. Every class has a hybrid board for presentation. The campus has a lot of uncluttered spaces to socialize and study. The sports facilities are pretty good as well. The basketball and the fields are well-maintained. The campus also has a well-equipped gym.

The professors are well-qualified and helpful. The undergraduate courses taught at the college have a decent balance between theoretical and practical subjects.

Mount Carmel College placements are pretty good. In the recent placement, the median CTC offered to students was INR 3 LPA. The number of companies visiting the campus is increasing each year. Big MNCs like Wipro, Dell, E&Y, JP Morgan, etc. visit the campus drive.

I have a few friends from Mount Carmel College Bangalore. Their experience at the college has been quite good. Here are some snippets of their experience at the college.

Placements: Many reputed companies visit the college to recruit students. In the recent placement drive, the average and highest CTC offered at the institute was 2.95 LPA and 7 LPA. The placement cell also conducts placement training for the students, before the placement drive.
Facilities: The laboratory facilities offered at the institute are quite good. The 1st floor of the LSCB block has all the science labs. The computer labs use all the modern technologies.
Course Curriculum: The course curriculum followed for B.Com is quite good. Teachers use live examples to teach.
Fest: MCC organizes many fests. CulAh is quite reputed in Bangalore.

Overall, doing B.Com from Mount Carmel College is a good option.
