Course Curriculum Overview

4

i really liked the publiv policy course and that was the driving factor for my decision. the curriculum is really diverse and prepares us for real life problems and future academic pursuits. if i have to siggest oneimprovement i would say to find a way to make political science a bit more interesting but overall its manageable. the frequency and timing of exams is actually almost perfect. certain exams can be a bil challenging but its nott a big issue its just school students adapting into the college form

Placement Experience

5

i am actually not much aware about the placements of my college cause i plan on completing my masters after this. but last year a undergrad girl from the communications department got a placement of 24lpa which is really impressive. the average placement is also pretty decent - 7lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

for my course i pay 96000, 93000 is the amount to be paid and the rest is the platform and conveineice charges. this also includes 4500 for an additional language and around 12000 for non karnataka students.

Campus Life

4

we have a reallyy culturally rich and vibrant campus life. within the first few weeks of me joining college, we had cul-week which was intra-department event with a lot of competitons and activities. after a month we had traditional day which was really fun as well. we made so many new friends and acquantainces. the annual fest CUL-AH happened in the beginning of february. it was a much more stricter fest and a lil too crowded given how small the campus is. but the theme reveals a few days prior to the fest were absolute bangers, we had a whole showdown of cars like the lamborghini and jeeps and thar which was awesome so yeah most of the events are on point and absolute fun. we have around 70 associations like public speaking, rock band, indian dance and even our own college radio which is all student run. they really make up our resume.

Admission

i liked this college because of public policy which isnt as popular in the country, plus bangalore is a very nice city to live in all by yourself for the fiirst time. i got into a few other private universities like gd goenka and op jindal for their ballb program but i just chose my not pursue law anymore and public policy was a domain that caught my eye. a distant relative of mine in a mcc alum and listening to her experience pushed me towards mcc and not christ

Faculty

4

i am a part of a small class of around 30 people, so its really good but there are classes woth around 80 or so students as well. professors are really suppportive they actually like talking to us. they are very approachable and there is no issue in communicating as well. for example, dr. deb makes semiotics so fun and interesting that i actually started using it in my day to day life. the ppolicy professor makes those long hours seem so short that sometimes we just cant get enough of his story like lectures. aboout the exam system, there are 2 cia continuous internal asssessements worth 30 marks each but triple majors have only1 cia and additional assiignments for 10 marks. you can pass the exams if u have studied a bitt or even paid attention in class but they are more application based then just direct questions.

Night Life

1

no nightlife whatsoever, not even for hostel people. the gates close at 5pm and library and gym closr at 4pm after that hostel students cant access them either which is really frustrating. but our canteen is soo dope its actually really good with a lot of places to choose from. most of the counters are pretty affordable.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of the dual degree that it has to offer, christ is one of the very few institutions that offer dual degree and allow you to explore both the subjects or gain combined knowledge of both the subjects. The curriculum is very up to date with subjects that relate to real world problems. What i like the most about my curriculum is the Learner centric approach where they divide the class into halves so that the teacher student ratio can be maintained in order to achieve full efficiency. One area of improvement can be inculcating more soft skills traininng into it.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placements are good. Students arw given chances to take exams and get job opportunities from there. Field trips and internships, orientations, talk shows are organized to prepare students further before stepping out for jobs. They can either take the placements they get or opt for higher studies, which is what i am doing as a degree in psychology alone does not grant a wide scope in the jobs spectrum.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
