An Insider's Perspective: Matrusri Enginering College Review

Likes

Our college has a very small but we get to see all the highly advanced labs with fully new equipment.
our college has many clubs like dance music and photography where we get to meet people from various backgrounds and various ideologies
gender ratio is quite decent in our college and there is no specific gender discrimination or domination in our college

Dislikes

the faculty is experienced but they still stick to their old rules and do not get updated with the current generation and stick to their consevrative thoughts
the course curriculum is updated but not to the extent we expected and wanted the syllabus to be
we do have placement training sessions but they are not upto the mark

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for the placements from 7th semester. Many companies like TCS , Accenture ,Cognizant, Tech Mahindra and Infosys,etc.The highest package from our college till date is 25lpa, and the average package comes to 10lpa.the placement percentage always exceeds 80%. Currently I am planning to move out to Germany for Higher Education to complete my masters in ECE stream.

Life in and around Matrusri

Likes

The infrastructure of the college is good
They have great study environment and atmosphere
The college follows all the rules of hygiene

Dislikes

The labs are not properly equipped with the instruments
The sports hall in the college and the provision for sports is not upto mark
You cannot expect many fests either technical or non technical

The curriculum is more focused on the real world applications and making sure that the students are industry ready. They also focus on the Technical languages which students can learn simultaneously. The Campus recruitment training is also done parallely from the first year itself

Life a MECS

Likes

The best library facilities for a engineering student is provided.
The best teaching faculty and experienced HODs.
A green campus with more that 60 trees and uses Solar energy for power

Dislikes

Sports facilities are less for the students present.
Events conducted are low budget but better than many colleges in the city.
Closed gates of the campus as we can't go out of the campus without HOD permission

Placement Experience:

Campus recruitment training is provided from the first year without any extra charges. Many other colleges ask to pay extra charges for the CRT classes. Placements are given in the college at an average of 3.5-6 lakhs per annum. Highest package was 24 lakhs per annum.

Likes

Campus is small and is wasy to wander around.
Greenery everywhere and it's completely a green environment college
The campus is neat, hygienic and well maintained

Dislikes

Being a small campus, had to sacrifice sports grounds
The security are very rude towards students and have attitude problem
The HODs are too arrogant which is so annoying

Course Curriculum Overview:

I belong to ECE Department, and 50% of the ECE faculty are annoying and won't understand our problems. And my stream will surely be in demand in the next upcoming days but being under their mentorship won't take me to the places where i belong to. Each semister has 2 slip tests and 2 mids and end with semister end examinations in the time span of 5 to 6 months.

My Matrusri My Opinion

Likes

I like the locality of the college as the college is the heart of the city and surrounded by colonies which makes it peaceful.
Educational quality is good too as the strength of the students is low compared to other engineering colleges.
They provide high speed internet in the library which is for free. Library books are up to date.

Dislikes

The irritating thing about this college is the transport service, no good buses provided and incharge is least bothered about the students problems.
Campus is small, which compromises sports grounds (no football/cricket ground). Divided on open area into basketball court, volley ball court and parking.
Strict security who are very rude towards students, no respect or humanity is show and full of ego.

This college is affiliated to Osmania University till 2023 but from 2023 (i.e, my batch) the college became autonomous so not sure how the placements are going to be. on asking our 2020 pass out seniors, most of the placements offered are of call centre with a low package. Till date the highest package was 28 LPA and I'm not sure about the lowest package. My aim as soon as completing the degree is to get a good high package job. Some of the companies visited and offered are Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, Wipro, etc.

Friendly and supportive staff. Who supports in all aspects both studies and sports
Peaceful environment with huge trees and greenary
Good playground with volleyball court, basketball and badminton court

Dislikes

Disgusting security,old block is bit smaller
Parking area is worst, only veg is allowed in canteen campus
Library is too consistent, only some books are available

In my view choosing this Matrusri engineering college for my intrested couse is very much useful and profitable in knowledge gaining and coming to examination it's very strictly conducted but we have confidence that we can write exams well because our staff is such talented one

My college is in centre of the city, can get ease transportation facility

The exams conducted by our board are slightly difficult while compared to the other boards. I chosed this course curriculum because there will be a huge scope to develop my self. This course need more practicals to understand the concept of electronics.

Engineering is my interest and to complete it in big college is better for future so I choose MECS as it is one the best colleges in hyderabad. Its curriculum prepares for real world applications and future studies as well. It covers all the required subjects for ECE and there are 2 semesters per year and exams are based on semesters.

I liked the events conducted in the college.
Infrastructure of the college is also good.

Dislikes

I disliked most is the discouragement of our of the box approaches nd ideas.

Placement Experience:

The college has a good amount of campus placements around 60-70% but companies are mostly in services and hire in bulk with few also asking for 2-3 yrs of contracts. 2023 had highest package of 7lpa nd min of 1.8lpa.

Likes

College campus is good but small.Environment will be too good .
Ragging is not allowed in the college premises.
Always there will be a person to look in cameras so ragging will be prohibited.

Dislikes

Campus is too small we are unable to play cricket as there is only small space.
Parking should be more big.and they have to adopt more outdoor games
They should increase seminal halls in which more students should be seated.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement. On average 60 companies will be visiting our college and each student may get 3 or more offers. Students 60% are eligible for placements. After betch we can go for higher studies, abroad or for a job.
