MCC Chennai: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 24 Reviews

Madras Christian College (MCC) is one of India's top 10 colleges for BBA, offering a competitive admission process with a high cut-off of around 93% for CBSE students. The college ensures quality education with faculty holding at least a master's degree, and many possessing higher qualifications like M.Phil and Ph.D. The Business Administration department, offering courses in a self-financed evening shift, is supported by approximately 11 faculty members for every 150 students.

Despite some faculty shortages in finance, teaching methods are diverse and align with modern business standards. MCC has two streams: a low-fee government-aided Day stream and a moderately priced self-financed Evening stream. It maintains a robust placement program, with top companies like Amazon and Deloitte recruiting many students starting from the 5th semester. About 70% of students secure placements with salaries ranging from 3-6 LPA, with top packages reaching 9 LPA.

Internships, both paid and unpaid, are integrated into the curriculum to provide practical experience. Tuition fees range from 40,000 to 65,000 per semester, totaling between 148,000 and 175,000 for the entire course, with various scholarships and loan programs available to assist students. Notable scholarships include The Hindu Scholarship and P. Dhanarajulu Naidu Memorial Prize. MCC also offers study abroad opportunities for select students. The college's placement cell provides extensive training to enhance employability, ensuring students are well-prepared for the workforce.

MCC Chennai: 1 Answered Question

Which college is better for BBA course Loyola College or Madras Christian College?

Subhashree MukharjeeB.Sc. Physics,Loyola College,Chennai

There is not much difference when we talk about the course and the subjects but the environment is significantly different for both. Here are some things that you should know about the institutes.

Freedom- MCC offers a lot of freedom to its students in the way they dress and express themselves as compared to Loyola. Even for attendance, it is not as strict as Loyola. Loyola asks its students to pay for condonation and then sit for an exam.

Ragging- It is still very much prevalent at MCC and sometimes it crosses the healthy limit as well. On the other hand, ragging is very rare at Loyola.

Drug scene- MCC is infamous for its drug-related incidents. While enrolling their children, parents are quite worried about this. On the other hand, Loyola does not have such a problem.

Campus- Both the campuses are extremely beautiful with an amazing experience of studying in the college.

College life- When it comes to cultural and extracurricular activities, MCC is more active as compared to Loyola. They conduct a lot of fests and different events which offer its students a lot of opportunities.

Here is a brief overview of the institutes.

Category Loyola MCC
Companies Visited MRF, Infosys, TCS, etc. Deloitte, TCS, Wipro, etc.
Average CTC  3.5 lakh 2.31 lakh
Highest CTC 5.2 lakh 3.5 lakh

Therefore, it depends completely on what you want out of your college. If you want a good college life then you should opt for MCC. But if you want good academics then you should opt for Loyola. MCC has a diversified culture whereas Loyola has students mostly from Chennai.
