The Inside experience of Hansraj College, DU

Likes

The students and Faculty is very friendly and collaborative.There is no toxic environment at all
The pathways are very nice , made of tiles and infrastructure is decent
The best canteen in North campus DU consisting of Cafeteria, Mitti Cafe, nescafe and amul

Dislikes

the classrooms are really small of A block
the buildings are relatively small in comparison to other colleges

Course Curriculum Overview:

the cirriculum is up to date , it focuses on real world applications of studies , with the help of analyzing case studies , etc. the frequqncy of examinations is okay as there are mainly end semester exams, but there are a lot of difficult assignments to do.

Likes

Many activities are there in the college
Many sports facility like the also have archergy 'shooting range etc..
There are various society in the campus for skill development and ideas engaging

Dislikes

Ao many societies are there couldn't able to where to go this is one problem for me
Cafteria is always full i mean the main cafeteria
The elections day in college seems more irrating causing disturbance

Hansraj college review

Likes

quality of social interaction is good, students are freindly
Teaching methods are nice, mentorship quality is good
Quality of infrastucture is good, learing facilities are also good

Dislikes

I have been going for 2 months , i don't think there is anything that i disliked
Sports ground should be even more bigger.
Hostel is not provided for delhi ncr students.

My course is B.Sc ( bachelors of science ) ( hons. ) chemistry , this course is for students who are interested in research fields, science etc . There are organic chemistry, physical chemistry and inorganic chemistry classes.

The college vibes is awesome like hansraj college is famous for srk
The kind of exposure that you get is really great as it is one of the top college in India
The boys to girls ratio is like 40:60 in our college. But for my course its higher like 70:30.that makes this very good for north campus college

Dislikes

Hansraj college is very very strict. Like it is said that the administration is the most strict in whole du
Hansraj college is very small as compared to other college campus.
There is always some construction going on in the college. That makes this a little inconvenience.

Placement Experience:

There are placement cell in hansraj college which provides the placement for the various courses which are majority bcom hons , ba economics hons and bsc computer science hons and the rest are have a general placement opportunity. The companies which come in college for placement usually come for these courses only. Rest courses usually goes for higher education or upsc or other government exams.

ALMOST PERFECT COLLEGE IN DELHI

Likes

Food, but don't recommend meals on Friday or Thursday, i don't know why but tastes a little weird.
Time & Space for fun activities to refresh your mood after hours and hours of study
Teacher - Student relationship, here professors are really helpful.

Dislikes

Sometimes i see garbage bins empty and area around if full of trash and it takes like 1 hour for cleaning staff to notice it and clean it.
Bullying is kinda ignored here, all those high status kids bully others and teachers sometimes just walk past them.

Placement Experience:

In my batch, after the completion of 3 years you could go for post graduate courses or opt for placements which were most of the time in colleges or other educational institutions. I remember the least package was like 8 lpa and highest was 40 lpa or something. I never opted for placements because i had other plans in further studies but have heard from others that students are getting placed in good institutions as teachers or other faculty member with really good packages like 6 lpa or 8 lpa as freshers salary.

One of the best coed college of delhi university in north campus
Best staff, faculty teaching and non teaching staff are so supportive
Situated in north campus and very close to other colleges like miranda house and more and also very close to department of mathematics (where all the classes are held)

Placement Experience:

Placement cell organises several visits of different companies in the department. But since this course is majorly focused by students having a vision of doctorate programs. Students planning for placements after theirs masters should go with statistics and operational research program. These teo courses have better placement rate.

Life In Hansraj

Most liked thing in our college is the society activities. There are several types of societies active in our college. They conduct various extra curricular activities which is necessary for the overall development of a student
Faculty of our college is very frank. They are the backbone of our academic performance
Infrastructure of course. We have a large playground, LP area for engagement,good canteen, AC

Dislikes

Political inactivity of our college should concern us I think
Principal is very strict. Sometimes it feels like we are in a school not in a college
Mandatory attendance issue must step down as you have many societies for extracurricular activities

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college is following NEP 2020. According to which,we now have to read seven papers instead of 5. Value Addition Course(VAC) and Skill Enhancement Course (sec) are added. I don't really think these extra 2 paper really enhancing our skill. I think it dilutes our honours courses. We have three core paper and one Generic Elective and one EVS. Core paper is read deeply and I really think that these three paper enhances our understanding

Likes

Library I liked the most in college campus.
Mess price in college canteen is affordable.
Social interaction is also nice in this college.

Dislikes

Dirt in the time of DUSU election like posters spread every where.
Canteen is too small for hansraj college crowd.
Fees little high as compared to other du north campus colleges.

Placement Experience:

As seniors said you are eligible after entering in 3rd year for placement.75 percent students placed whose from commerce course.Deloitte ,Zomato etc such big companies arrived past in our college campus.

Hansraj College

The infrastructre is one of the best among all DU colleges. It has indoor badminton court, shooting range, football ground, basketball court, cricket pitch, archery.
The vibe of the college is very good and the library is also one of the best.
The crowd of Hansraj is top notch and very posh. Students from all walks of life are there in Hansraj.

Dislikes

You dont get to use the sports facility unless you are a professional sports player or got enrolled through sports quota.
The attendance has become strict since past 2 years which is not good because in college one needs to explore and take part in ECA rather than study and score top marks.
The classes get cancelled very often. You cannot say that a class will take place until one hour before the class timing. Its that bad!

Course Curriculum Overview:

Doing Bcom Hons from Hansraj College is something that is a big deal. Being a general student it was a dream come true to get Bcom Hons( the most demanded course of DU) and that too in a top college like Hansraj. The course curriculum is very relevant to today's time. The practicals and lectures are engaging. They can get monotonus at times but overall it is a great experience to purse Bcom Hons. Exams take place in Dec/Jan and April/May along with Class tests a month or two before the exams. The exams are moderate level and one can easily score good CGPA in it.

Faculty of each department is really very good and supporting.
Campus is very beautiful. Its very clean and well managed.
There are many societies. You can join any of them according to your interest.

Dislikes

Every thing in college is very good,But it is to be very crowded.

Placement Experience:

College has its own placement cell. Highest package is 36.50 lpa with an average of 7.6 lpa. Many companies like HCL, Deloittr, PwC, accenture,and KPMG visit it. College also has a internship cell which provides hands on experience in their field.

One of my friends graduated with a B.A Economics (H) from Hansraj last year. So, I think I can answer your question.

Here are some of the best things about the institute.

This college has an ‘old world’ feel. The infrastructure of the college is great.
The fee structure is affordable as compared to other private colleges.
It has some incredible graduates, including Shahrukh Khan, Ranvijay, and Anurag Kashyap. The list is really long.
Amazing crowd, the individuals here are both fun and hardworking at the same time. Admission is based on merit in qualifying examinations.
Some of our professors are truly amazing, you will not find such professors at other colleges, even SRCC.
There are many societies to explore like dramatics, photography society, and fine arts society, etc.
The hostel was my friend’s home for three years, and there is simply no better place to stay when studying at Hansraj. However, it doesn’t have a girls’ hostel.
North Campus has the best college location.

You will not regret choosing the institute.
