Hansraj College - University of Delhi

Likes

Infrastructure is one of the best in the whole University. Hansraj college provides top of the art infrastructure facilities which includes various amenities like sports ground, basketball court, volleyball court, indoor badminton court, and more.
The Placement Cell of our college is oke the best providing the best opportunities available in the market including jobs in the fields of finance, consulting, accounting, computer science, marketing and many more. The Internship Cell is also good.
The faculty is quite good and even the best in the whole University. We have people who have earned their PhD in their own respective fields and are well versed with their domains. They continuously inculcate innovative ways of educating us.

Dislikes

One thing I dislike is the rigorous academic structure including the attendance criteria.

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good at Hansraj. Students become eligible in their sixth semester to sit for campus placements. Some well known companies include Deloitte, ZS associates, Bain and Co., McKinsey, BCG, Pwc, KPMG, HDFC, Kotak Bank, and many more well known names. Highest package of this year went up to 24 LPA and average package stands at 7 LPA. The median package stands at 8 LPA. Most number of offers were made by finance and consulting companies and their roles. 80% of the students who sat for their placement got placed. My plans after getting the degree is to sit for the placement and get a decent package in finance background and after 2 years of good experience I plan on getting an MBA from a top B school.

I liked extra curriculum activity like sports day

Dislikes

Non availablity of canteen on Saturdays.

Placement Experience:

Ncweb placements are provided but I think I have to do some professional course as it does not provide much opportunites just doing it. So acting in Excel, communication will help me to get better job opportunity further

Canteen , I like canteen food, and over-all College is clean.
Safety measures, without college I'd one can enter college.
Teacher's are very well professional and helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Masters students in hansraj for m.com is 29 students only. And mostly for classess we go there and we are only allowed to be part of any ther hansraj societies even though we paid full fees accordingly.

Likes

My College is unique from all du college because it follows time table and teacher are very responsible and campus was very clean
Teachers are Very well equipped with relevant experience
Campus area and environment was very safe

Dislikes

Nothing to dislike everything is good we have canteen that very much nice
But in canteen pricse little bit high but overall good
One more thing is some rooms were very small

My course is BA history honours its was Very much good i think its better from other science courses because i think history help to develop thinking power. In exam we have 3 hours for main exam core subjects like vac sec who was only 30 marks have 1 hours

A story of the North Campus

Likes

I like the playground of my College which is large in area and there are many sports available like volleyball, basketball, kabaddi, hockey, archery,kho-kho etc. So if you are a person who interested in sports this is the right college for you.
There are also many events, programmes and seminars which will provide skills, knowledge and experience about various fields by the experts who are the big personality in those careers.It can also take you ahead in that career with a rapid speed.
The teaching structure of the college is also very good as there is a very large number of faculties of different subjects with a long experience in their life with various types of degrees and courses.They will available to teach you every time.

Dislikes

The thing,I disliked is the teachers are mostly strict if you will break their rules they will also give you punishment as not giving you attendance for the day,just because of your mistake even if you are present.
The college is very far from my home it take 2 hours daily to take me to college everyday.It means everyday my 4 hours gone in travel,but I can also manage that by doing some useful activities during the travel.

Placement Experience:

The college provides placements in various types of big companies.The company persons visit the college to the students who are going to get graduated in the year and take their interview.For impressing them you should score high cgpa out of 10 let's say 8-10 will be better rather than that you should also have a lot of skills, knowledge, experience, expertise,a brilliant resume,CV which you have gained in your past college years.Then you will get the placement through the college.The pay for placement will be very good like from 8L/p.a. to 10L/p.a.

High spirited Hansraj

Likes

all the classes are air conditioned which makes it easy to survive in summers
the ground of hansraj college is well maintained
there is a huge pool of students so its easy to make connections

Dislikes

During the election time the candidates randomly crashes into a class to speak about them and their vision for college
the campus size is too small for the amount of people that it holds
Usually its difficult to get a permission to organize an event in the sports ground

Placement Experience:

there is a scope of placement in Hansraj college. I am currently working in the placement cell of hansraj college and the average LPA of our college is 7-8 LPA which is decent most of the placements are for economics and commerce students the highest package from our college was 23 LPA so although there is a possibilty of placement and if not then the alumni network of hansraj helps and all the connections you made in the college helps to get a job.

Hansraj inside out

Likes

I love the vibe and environment here. It's just very peaceful and safe
You'd love the crowd here every body is doing something awesome and will help you explore your awesomeness.
I love the library too it's just so peaceful and perfect for self studies.

Dislikes

What I find bad about Hansraj is it has loads of monkeys in the campus which is dangerous since they even attack students some times.
The toilets here are not very well managed and flushes and mirrors are not missing sometimes.
It's not great to count on Hansraj when it comes to event's. It's not very happening when comes to fests and events.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose economics bc I personally loved economics plus the maths teacher for economics is very supportive and helpful. She's good at teaching. Meanwhile the pressure is real that you'll have to deal with it , the teachers are nice but the curriculum is quite tirring along with the society work. Tests and project's are given on regular basis

The pride of studying in a prestigious college.

Likes

The infrastructure of the campus and the comfort and luxury it provides with minimum cost.
The kind of opportunities and competitions, as well as speaker sessions organised gives great insights into the particular field of study.
The efforts of teachers to teach despite knowing nothing.

Dislikes

A below average teacher provided for one of the most important subjects such as business law.
Seems like a school without uniform, and over enthusiastic crowd coming to college everyday for attendance and becoming teachers pet.
Discriminatory behaviour of some teachers, and their sheer inability to grasp the students attention while teaching.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. The course that I have chosen is B.Com(h) as I studies Commerce in higher secondary. 2. The course is interesting and prepares for real life applications and employment in the corporate sector really well. 3. The content of textbooks is very well written, we just need good faculty for teaching it. 4. Semester exams happend once a semester with medium level difficulty.

Brand name: so hansraj college, everyone knows and a big flex when you can say a lot of famous and successful people are graduated from here and when one of those people are the one and one shahrukh khan
Faculty: too supporting and friendly faculty
Competition: this is where I can atleast get a little competition

Dislikes

Fake people: why do they always try to fake themself, I mean I am not against someone faking it, but it should not look at your face, lol
Old infrastructure: college got a beautiful infrastructure but it needs some good rework
Study: who goes to college for studies????😩

Placement Experience:

A lot of companies come for the final year students to offer them a lot of roles, some of the companies are ey, Genpact, ibm. There are more than 50 companies (or even more) comes for placement of multiple students)

All about Hansraj from A-Z

Likes

Faculty is highly qualified and are friendly towards the students and ensure that the learning environment is approachable.
Crowd of the college is a blend of varieties of identities in terms of people from different backgrounds and mostly are good and helpful and do not have a snooty attitude
Hostel facilities are good, in terms of space, rooms are small and are double sharing but in terms of food quality it's far better than PGs and tiffin services and other hostels.

Dislikes

College campus is comparatively smaller, and there is a lack of good quality infrastructure especially for sports
Principal is strict and therefore discipline needs to be maintained in terms of attending classes, behaviour within the campus, etc.
Most likely hostel will be dismantled very soon.

Placement Experience:

Students sit for placements from the fifth semester onwards. Majorly placements are focused for students pursuing economics and commerce, comp. Sci. Hons. course, however courses of math hons., etc., also get placed at good companies. Some big names come to Hansraj including LEK, Goldman Sachs, BCG, BCN, Alvarez nd marsal, DeShaw JPMorgan, etc., the highest package is by DeShaw of 22LPA this year, and the avg. package is about 8 lakhs. There a. Lot of offers made students can check out the placement cell of Hansraj College for exact details on Instagram handles. My core plan is to sit for placements.

One of my friends graduated with a B.A Economics (H) from Hansraj last year. So, I think I can answer your question.

Here are some of the best things about the institute.

This college has an ‘old world’ feel. The infrastructure of the college is great.
The fee structure is affordable as compared to other private colleges.
It has some incredible graduates, including Shahrukh Khan, Ranvijay, and Anurag Kashyap. The list is really long.
Amazing crowd, the individuals here are both fun and hardworking at the same time. Admission is based on merit in qualifying examinations.
Some of our professors are truly amazing, you will not find such professors at other colleges, even SRCC.
There are many societies to explore like dramatics, photography society, and fine arts society, etc.
The hostel was my friend’s home for three years, and there is simply no better place to stay when studying at Hansraj. However, it doesn’t have a girls’ hostel.
North Campus has the best college location.

You will not regret choosing the institute.
