IERT Admission FAQ
Ques. Is there an age limit for applying to the IERT diploma or B.Tech courses?
Ans. There is a minimum age for applying to diploma courses of IERT Allahabad, but no maximum age for diploma or B.Tech programmes. For diploma admissions, candidates should be at least 14 years old as of July 1st of the admission year. For B.Tech programmes, even though there is no minimum age given, students need to have completed their 10+2 with the necessary subjects. There is no upper age limit for admission to either of these programs, and it is therefore open to a large pool of applicants who are qualified educationally.
Ques. Is there any reservation policy for admissions in IERT?
Ans. IERT Allahabad adheres to the reservation policy of the Government of Uttar Pradesh to provide equal access to education for students of different categories. The institute keeps seats reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backwards Classes (OBC), physically handicapped, dependents of freedom fighters, and sons or daughters of defence personnel. The institute also keeps 20% of the seats reserved for girl candidates of Uttar Pradesh. Priority is usually accorded to candidates residing within Uttar Pradesh, but if seats are vacant, candidates from other states also can be considered. This practice increases inclusiveness and equal opportunity in admissions.
Ques. How is seat allotment done after the entrance exam?
Ans. The seat allotment at IERT Allahabad is done based on the merit rank of the candidate, depending on the course and department that the student chooses and fills during counselling. The institute organises a counselling session for its students. Where candidates are invited as per their ranks to select their respective courses and departments of choice. Allocation is made on a seat available basis, merit position, and category reservation basis, keeping the allotment transparent and equitable.
