Course Curriculum Overview:
Actually there were no doctors in our immediate family so it was my parents wish to be there for atleast one doctor in family my brother was not interested in mbbs profession
So as the second son I choose it as a parent wish and also during my pu course I worked hard to crack neet in 1st attempt and I did it successfully and scored 640 and joined karnataka's top college Mysore medical college and research institute and now by next month my exams will be finished
There are one internals for every 3 months and at last after 12 month there will be final exam which
The staff is particularly very concerned about the studies and cooperation between students nd staff is very kind.
The environment around the campus is very diverse and highly varied
The ragging is totally not there and very much healthy environment around the campus
Dislikes
The infrastructure is asusual but can adjust with the new campus
The staff isn’t that supportive towards the extra curriculum
Course Curriculum Overview:
The overall curriculum is followed as the university guidelines influenced by Rajiv Gandhi Heath university science. They provide a timetable which is followed by all the departments of our colleges and includes the exam curriculum too.
Great professors, lots of clinical exposure and good peers to surround yourself with.
Good extracurricular events, good facilities.
Great atmosphere, good guest lectures and medical conferences.
Dislikes
Some classrooms are not great to sit in.

As mentioned before, internship is offered at the adjacent KR Hospital which is a goldmine of knowledge. Crucial skills are acquired which are useful to the graduates for the rest of their lifetimes. Internship lasts a year and is hectic but very fulfilling.

Course Curriculum Overview:
The course is of 5.5 years, comprises 4.4 years of studying and and 1 year of mandatory internship. There is a total of 19 subjects that are taught to us in 4.4 years. It needs very hard work and dedication to study. We need to be very punctual with clinical postings also.
There are about 1 faculty per 15 students roughly, all are qualified doctors, there are exams every 3 months and they are of average difficulty. The faculties are interested in their work and they are good teachers.
I chose MBS to become a good doctor. The faculty student ratio is 1:20, The faculties are Neet Pg qualified. The term exams are always conducted on time. The exams are always difficult to pass as the papers are of 200 marks in a single day.
MS General Surgery in MMC was supposed to be the best in Karnataka.
But overall, it's not comparable to any top colleges of India.
Pros :
1. High OPD patient load. Variety of cases seen.
2. Inpatient load is also good. From 50 to 100 cases on an average per week in any unit.
3. Good OT setup and availability of Laparoscopy.
4. Due to PGs in almost all departments, any emergency was attended to faster and was available for on-call consultation.
5. PGs can attend Regular CMEs conducted in and around Mysore.
Cons :
1. Academics is decent at best. Regular classes were canceled for almost the entire 2 yrs.
2. No Regular tests or term exams were conducted nor was there any special interest in research.
4. Surgical hands-on training is given only in the last part of the final year if senior staff allow it.
5. No Laparoscopic training was given. Only handling of instruments is learned.
6. Infrastructure and facilities are limited.
7. Thesis and Exam preparation only in the last 3 to 4 months.
The college is associated with a government hospital. So there will be a rush of people always to the college. Am environment of a campus is never there. But still the college is very much worthy.
