Fees and Financial Aid

Around 1. 10 lakh to 1.15 lakh for first year and around 80 - 90 thousand for next years. There is no other fees except for uniform and books. It is around 7000.Admission can be taken through LBS (merit) and SPMA (management) both have the same fee structure. There is reservation for SC and ST. Talking about the infrastructure, it doesn't have a proper campus and a good infrastructure. Faculties are pretty good and friendly. Course is pretty frustrating but the opportunities are vast

Faculty

Faculties are good, experienced and friendly. We can easily get access to them without any hesitation. They'll manage us like their siblings. Its a 4 year course. Exams are early but its too late to become semester. The curriculum provided is so complex and important at the same time.Minimum 50% needed pass any subjects. There are 12 teaching staffs and 4 lab technicians and 4 non teaching staffs.

Faculties are ok and some of them are really very good. Some lectures scare us when we need some positive response from them. There are 11 lectures in our course, in that few of them teach really very good at teaching and presenting. Some are only reading the presentation, won't explain anything. In exam they correct liberaly. They won't give marks for what we have written few correct points.

Fees and Financial Aid

First year I paid one lakh twenty-one thousand , for second year also I paid one lakh twenty-one thousand only. Some of them got sages seat and Staff kota and they were said to pay less amount. There are few scholarship like konkani speaking and NRI hostel students, where few of my classmates have received the amount.

Fees and Financial Aid

Well just like any other B or C colleges this college too fail to give what they actually promise. After interning in 4-5 reputated healthcare institutions we realised that pursuing BMLT With this much fees is waste of money and nothing else. A DMLT candidate cost (usually 60k - 1lakh for 2 years) Even now the healthcare institutions are hiring DMLT candidates only as they are affordable and some of them more hands on experience than us.

Campus Life

Annual sports it's okay. But fest and fresher festival combined for reducing the college cost they have enough of it for organized 2 festival separately. Library has good accessibility of many books There is no social group, clubs or students portal.

College organise a a week long Annual Sports which is blend of indoor and outdoor games and Annual Fest, whixh is itself a treat to watch other than this two they organise some regular small events in the seminars room which are absolutely crap.

Course Curriculum Overview

I'm current scenario BMLT have no relevance.Choosing this course will only lead to poverty and depression nothing else. The curriculum spoonfeeds us with mouthfull of knowledge which is often irrelevant with the practical world

Faculty

We had 4 core subject faculties excluding our Lab in charge who used to conduct all laboratory processes. Faculties are approachable and most of us had very relation with them. 10/10 for faculties Dr Sougata Niyogi and Bidyut Kar were my favourite faculties because of their indepth knowledge in thier respective field, their way of teaching, their approach towards us,their moral values and all made them my favourite professors amongst all. I personally dont have any issues with any of the faculties regarding their teaching We used to give 3 Continuous Assessments (CA) 25 marks each ,2 Practical Continuous Assessment(PCA)40 marks each and end semester examination 70marks each for each semester. CA and Pca's were often easy but end semester examination used to be pretty tough.

Course Curriculum Overview

Well, just like any other grade B or C colleges this college too fail to give what they actually promise. After interning in 4-5 reputated healthcare institutions we realised that pursuing BMLT with this much fees is waste of money and nothing else. A DMLT candidate gets same scope and salary as us at much cheaper cost(usually 60k-1lakh for 2years) Even now the healthcare institutions are hiring DMLT candidates only as they are affordable and some of them have much more hands on experience than us. Laboratory engagements should be encouraged rather than classroom teaching only as it is totaly practical based work. Ca's are frequent but they wont cause any stress.

the faculties are approachable yet some of them cant be as forgiving as the rest. Asha mam- even though shes very strict she teaches very well and make sure the point gets across. Kusumakshi mam- shes very boring and takes class very slow we have sessionals every 2 months and main exam every 6 months. most of the students fail.

Campus Life

the campus life makes up for the poor education i get here. there are so many different programmes and events arranged by the boards and clubs here include the traditional and ethnic programmes. inter- course competition and programmes

Fees and Financial Aid

I took the course B.Sc MLT and the total fees for this is a little more than 4 lakhs. In first year the fee was 1,36,000 and gradually keeps decreasing as there is no caution fee payment. I'm in NRI category so I paid 1,86,000 for the first year which also includes 200 usd as caution fee. For NRI category there are less scholarship opportunity but I did get a 10% scholarship which is 18,000 INR. To be honest I wish we had more scholarship opportunities since I did get above 80% in boards and the same for my friend in general category and she got a 40% scholarship. We pay 50-60 thousand more than the general category for everything which includes tuition, mess and hostel. There are a lot of scholarships for general category but very less fo us which feels unfair since we've worked hard too and we have no scholarship and barely any benefit. I'm the only NRI student in my class so I can see the huge difference inthe fees I pay and what they are paying to attend college.

Faculty

Since we have a less number of students , each one of us gets attention and they'll clear our doubts on spot. The faculties are very friendly and provides a comfortable atmosphere where we can be open to them about anything. They help us and give us tips and counsel us when we need anything. I don't hate nay of the faculties. They are good people but they can teach better. They just read ppts, except some, and leave. We can do that too if they provide us the notes. They don't give notes and expect us to be perfect in exam which I have a problem with because the portion taken one day before exam is included. The exam system is good. We have 2 sessionals and then end semester exam. Internals are given on the basis of our sessionals, assignment and assesment grades. It is fairly easy to clear the exams if we study and passing is pretty easy if we know the topics. The faculties are like our parents and hey guide us well. It is nice to have friendly faculties around us.

Manipal College of Health Profession celebrates, Traditional day, Ethnic day, Onam, Halloween and some more. The clubs in MCHP celebrate many occasions from children's day to teachers day. There are several clubs in MCHP like dance club, music club, photography club, drama club and much more. There are several committees too, such as welfare, editorial, sports etc. We have access to SEARCH library which has lots of books and journals which includes books for MBBS students too. There's plenty of place to study with free wifi for students. MCHP takes part in all kinds of parts from cricket to swimming.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum includes exposure to laboratory since day 1 of your first year. 1st year students are made to observe what happens in a laboratory. 2nd year and 3rd year students do minimal work. Interns are expected to do all the work. Areas of improvement could be better faculty and student relationship. The technicians working in the laboratories prefer speaking in kannada, hence it is difficult for non kannadiga. The teachers speak in english. The timings of the college is very hectic and tiring, students aren't allowed to leave the campus until 5pm even if we do not have classes.
