MMC Mysore Admission 2025 FAQs
Ques. How do I get admission into the MBBS course at MMC Mysore?
Ans.Admission to the MBBS course at MMC Mysore is solely through the NEET-UG entrance exam conducted by NTA. Post-qualification, students have to register for the Karnataka NEET counselling (for state quota seats) or MCC counselling(for All India Quota seats). Admission is done by NEET rank, category, and number of available seats. Since MMC Mysore is a government medical college, there are no direct admission or management quota seats. The counselling is done through document verification, choice filling, and allotment, and only those who are allotted by official counselling can go for admission.
Ques . How is the MD and MS program admission process in MMC Mysore?
Ans. For postgraduate medical programs such as MD and MS, candidates need to appear for NEET-organized by the National Board of Examinations. Application is open only for those possessing a valid MBBS degree and internship completion certificate. Admissions are managed by centralized counselling by MCC (in case of AIQ seats) and KEA (in case of Karnataka state quota). Seat allotments are based on NEET-PG rank, availability of seats, and reservation rules. MMC Mysore has PG courses in major clinical and para-clinical disciplines, and it is highly competitive due to the government status of the college as well as the relatively low fee.
Ques . Does MMC Mysore have super-specialty courses, and how do I apply?
Ans. Yes, MMC Mysore provides a super-specialty M.Ch course in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Candidates should have passed an MS degree and appear for NEET-SS, the super-specialty medical admission national-level test. Eligible candidates on the basis of NEET-SS rank can attend centralized counselling carried out by MCC. The seats are very few and strictly merit-based selection. Direct or institutional admission is not available to M.Ch courses.
Ques. Are there any reservations or special quotas during admission?
Ans.Yes, MMC Mysore adheres to the Government of Karnataka and Government of India's reservation policies, based on whether the seat is under the state or all-India quota. Reserved quotas for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PH, and rural candidates can enjoy lower cutoff ranks and category-wise seat allocations. For students of Karnataka state, Kannada medium quotas and rural quotas can also be offered. But all of them should pass the concerned entrance exam (NEET-UG, NEET-PG, or NEET-SS) first to become eligible for any quota advantage.
