- In my first year, I got exposure to all branches of science, including physics, math, psychology, biology, neuroscience, chemistry, computer science, and more.
- The internship has been a valuable time for me as I have learned what it is like to work in a professional environment and deal with real-world problems.
- The University of Calgary is one of the best universities in the state of Alberta, attracting well-reputed companies and providing a platform to network with industry professionals from those companies during the campus career fair.
- At UofC, I received the Presidential Scholarship worth $5000 CAD, which is awarded to students with an admission average of 95% or higher.
- The library has one of the best online portals to rent books, which can be delivered to your doorstep during Covid.
- Off-campus housing is cheaper, and it is good to enjoy the environment outside the university premises as well.
- You have the option to opt out of the insurance plans, provided that you can prove that you have a comparable plan that will keep you safe.
- The faculty and staff are very well educated; they genuinely care about us and want us to succeed.
- One can experience the best faculty at UCalgary, the best infrastructure, and one of the cleanest cities in Canada.
Dislike
- I do like the material a lot; however, usually the people who teach it dont care about teaching and end up giving me a negative opinion on the courses

- It’s an interesting place to be. Faculty members for the most part are fairly supportive and the team of students running clubs and organizations are successful at getting people engaged. null
Dislikes:
- The commuter campus aspect of the campus. There is often little engagement between faculties because of this and a difficult transit experience for those living on the other side of the city. null
I chose this university as the program I’m in is brand new, providing a fresh look at the built environment as a whole, unlike other universities. University is a unique experience. It’s much different than schooling before. You don’t know everyone in your school let alone even your program, making it much for self sufficient than previous schooling. It’s a challenging experience but feels much more rewarding than high school, with assignments posing actual difficulty and high level thinking requirements.

- I like that my university is very student friendly and has a lot of resources available for international and domestic students such as writing support, literature review, financial support, food bank etc. null
- Also, they have a very affordable tuition compared to other universities. null
- They offer great international support services such as visa services. null
- It has a diverse community. null
Dislikes:
- They do not have the best placement opportunities for students. null
- They do not have a big infrastructure like many other bigger institutions in Canada. null
- They do not pick a lot of international students for my program. null
I chose this university because of following factors: - Affordable tuition fee plus a funding package of 10,000CAD per year (so I literally paid a few thousand dollars from pocket as tuition). - I also got several scholarships, research assistants and GANT opportunities that helped me fund my stay. - Calgary is an affordable city compared to other big cities in Canada. - My program has a social justice focus and it is known for its community focus - My supervisor and my research interest fit well. Overall, it's a positive experience for me with great tutelage, resources, student support services, international community etc.

- Honestly, this was the top most university in Canada which accepted me. Funding policy for research students is much higher as compared to expenses. I choose the thesis based program because i like the research and i want to go in it. Moreover, most of the thesis/research based programs are fully funded, so i had not to worry about my finances .
- I like maximum things here, but the best thing is the accessibility of the facilities, I can come to my grad office at any time to work whether its midnight or weekend. null
Dislikes:
- I think, these year university is accepting much more students, which basically effect the teacher to student ratio. There is not any on-campus recruitment drive, so think two times if your program need huge investments .
I have good experience from the perspective of courses, research, infrastructure and funding. University have flexibility about the courses; there is a good research environment and infrastructure.
I chose this university as the location is nice and also really big campus. Also the people in Canada are very helpful and supportive. Overall a nice atmosphere. Uofc is an amazing place with amazing instructors and community

- I choose this university, as I wanted to do my masters, I completed my bachelor's in University too , and my main goal is to do masters and it's only to be done from a University. null
- I like the campus of my university, which is big and so accessible, there is a bus route inside and in front of every unit we get a stop for different locations in the city. It has world class facility as well as every building has a place to have a sit and complete our professional acadamic work or anything as there are big sofa as well as tables to sit , the structure of the building is as good as any corporate offices in the Downtown, calgary. null
Dislikes:
- The University is too big and maps doesn't work here, so proper guidance should be there for the students to show the building name as well as map of the building or as we can see in the mall , we can have a big display in the entrance of the building to show the map .
The overall experience here is very good not excellent, as the fees for international student are very high , but for the students who are Canadian they have to pay less fees.

- Good scholarship, only university in the Canadian top 10 with tuition fees below $25k/yr for engineering, 95% graduate employment rate and 94% retention rate. null
Overall experience is very good. The university has all bases covered residence, academics, sports, recreation, and research( also no 1 university in research) and Calgary is the 4th best city to live in, in the world according to the global liveability index.

- The specialization is what attracted me to this University. null
- The opportunities given to improve our skills. The student support here is great so far. Professors here have open-door policies, making it easier for us to seek guidance and clarification outside of class. null
Dislikes:
- The university has a strong co-operative education and internship program that allows students to gain practical work experience in their chosen fields but these are helpful mainly for those in research field. Despite all these as a student doing masters with course work, I don't have that much opportunities to gain some practical knowledge since these are limited for us. null
I have had a great time since coming here. Don't expect that there will always be somebody to help you out because once you cross the border you are all on your own. Appreciate the little help you are getting. Please, sorry, thank you should not leave your lips.

- Offered full funding. Less financially strainfull. Got to work on a unique project. null
- Big emphasis on research, diversity and acceptance of other cultures. Lot of activities to do in the campus. The proffs a really well qualified and lot of research projects. Every major festival or event is celebrated within the university and dedicated societies are there for each cultural backgrounds. null
Dislikes:
- Recent fee hikes has been pretty bad. The weather is pretty terrible with big flactutions. Winters are especially pretty harsh in Calgary. Campus residence can be pretty expensive. Housing in general is not that expensive outside campus but public transit is pretty bad. null
My experience has been pretty great at the university. I was fully funded so I didn't have much financial strain. Great infrastructure, and facilities all state of the art. Calgary in general is a vibrant city but has pretty bad weather. Winter can be pretty rough here.

- Good ranking, One of the most beautiful province of Canada, less tax. null
Dislikes:
- I would say there is no particular reason to dislike the university. It offers us everything a student expects and wishes for. The one thing that I do not like is how cold Calgary gets during the winters, bone-chilling cold!! It stays around negative thirty for most of the winters. That is one thing to keep in mind while selecting this university. Although, Canada is a very nice and diverse country, winters are one thing to be afraid of. null
A life changing experience. I grew a lot here. The people, community, atmosphere, everything is on par if not better than the best universities out there.
