- The tuition fee for Internationals, limited scholarships
- WhatsApp groups, mutuals, and connections from Indian IDP consultancy. Average rent for shared accommodation would be $500 per month. Private accommodation would be $800.

- Classes for each course was in different building and the campus is huge and hard to walk
- Some of the lectures was bit difficult to understand in the beginning as the course was little intense and hard to catch but later with some self study it was fine
- Lecturers English accent differs by each and that was difficult in the beginning but later it was fine again
- I chose an accommodation close to the university with the train facility that just had a stop inside the university itself.
- Monthly rent for each person in my flat was around $350 CAD and I found the accommodation by checking in Facebook marketplace and also by talking to the seniors in LinkedIn who already attended this university and then contacted the apartment people and initiated the process and then posted the ad for the roommates in Facebook marketplace to gather roommates

- Location of the campus. It is located in downtown which allows you to travel freely.
- Fee-structure: because of per-credit fee structure it allows student to take course as per their capacity.
- Co-ops opportunities allows a student to do an internship which will benefit them in future.

- Lecture time length, sometime lectures are 3 hours long.
- Lecture time, some lecture starts in evening and over at late night.
- Expensive living cost around university.
There are many Facebook groups and WhatsApp groups where you can find the rental unit but it is usually suggested to come before and search by yourself to avoid scams which are very common here and do not pay any amount in advance unless and until you see the unit.

- The learning is mostly practical instead of theoretical in form if assignments real life projects, including group and individual work.
- The university takes efforts to engage various programs like career fairs, networking events, hackathon etc.

- The university dining does not necessarily offer food that relishes your palette (especially Indian)
- Getting TA positions can be tough sometimes since there are no Scholarship options for non research based programs.
- The learning is mostly self directed and not necessarily guided by the professors as personal attention.
- Finding accommodation is a big task here. I found it through a WhatsApp group and Facebook marketplace.
- My current monthly rent is 930 plus utilities which are another 50 dollars for a private space which is one stop away from the university.
- Not knowing anyone while finding accommodation from India was very challenging. Considering the scams going on, trusting someone was very difficult. I found it through my friends who came before me.
- Finding accommodation off campus through friends and seniors is highly recommended. The university accommodation is very expensive.
- My accommodation is just one stop away from the university station. Mostly Indian students stay in areas like- Smyth station, lycee claudel, Lees etc.

- I received admission offer from this university and global ranking is good.
- The university is one of the top rated institutes and thus students get good exposure in terms of research, jobs etc. There is a huge range of courses to choose from based on student's interests. The Infrastructure and Legacy of the university is awesome.
Dislikes
- Sometimes there is over emphasis over research candidates than course based candidates, so the number of scholarships, teaching assistant positions etc. are more suitable for research based students than course based.
It has been great in many ways as I am learning new things everyday. The exposure and infrastructure is very good that helps in overall development of a student.
This university falls under 150 ranks in the world. And Ottawa is not expensive as compared to other cities in Canada.
The University of Ottawa is one of the top 10 universities in Canada. There are many good opportunities and also an Indian crowd so you don’t feel lonely in a foreign land.
The University of Ottawa is a really good university for Civil Engineering. My major is in structural engineering and the university is very well known for that. The course structure is really flexible. Also, there are a lot of choices in courses for structural engineering.
