• There are so many companies that hires new graduates. I got into Elastic company as a new graduate software engineer.
• You will also have an opportunity from the company that you did internship depending on that company’s requirements
   

• I chose an accommodation close to the university with the train facility that just had a stop inside the university itself.
• Monthly rent for each person in my flat was around $350 CAD and I found the accommodation by checking in Facebook marketplace and also by talking to the seniors in LinkedIn who already attended this university and then contacted the apartment people and initiated the process and then posted the ad for the roommates in Facebook marketplace to gather roommates
   

People who have done co-ops have a higher chance of getting a job. The average salary is around 70K per annum. Career fairs or through LinkedIn, you can apply. The lowest salary can be nearly 60k per annum.

There are many Facebook groups and WhatsApp groups where you can find the rental unit but it is usually suggested to come before and search by yourself to avoid scams which are very common here and do not pay any amount in advance unless and until you see the unit.

• Only 20% of students or even less find a full time job within 6 months. It is extremely challenging and stressful. Consistently applying, networking and having the right skillset is very essential.
• Starting salary on an average could be around 80k a year.
• Internships leading to full time job opportunities are subjected to vacancy and availability. Networking events, career fairs and LinkedIn could be really helpful in such cases.
• My friends have been placed in companies like NVIDIA, Amazon, IBM, Deloitte etc as software developers, Consultants and Business Analysts.
• Companies like RBC, BMO, Deloitte etc, Amazon hire graduates but with an experience of 3 plus years minimum.
   

• Finding accommodation is a big task here. I found it through a WhatsApp group and Facebook marketplace.
• My current monthly rent is 930 plus utilities which are another 50 dollars for a private space which is one stop away from the university.
• Not knowing anyone while finding accommodation from India was very challenging. Considering the scams going on, trusting someone was very difficult. I found it through my friends who came before me.
• Finding accommodation off campus through friends and seniors is highly recommended. The university accommodation is very expensive.
• My accommodation is just one stop away from the university station. Mostly Indian students stay in areas like- Smyth station, lycee claudel, Lees etc.
   

Tech companies like Nokia, Ericsson, Dell and other government organizations hire lot of students from the university.

It has been great in many ways as I am learning new things everyday. The exposure and infrastructure is very good that helps in overall development of a student.

It is totally dependent on individuals. University doesn’t give any placements. Any university abroad will usually not provide specific placements. However, they add certain importance to your resume.

This university falls under 150 ranks in the world. And Ottawa is not expensive as compared to other cities in Canada.

We don’t have any campus placements but we do have it for coop which is similar to an internship and that helps us a lot to gain industrial experience and that might be useful to get a full time job as well. This can help us to grow better in our career

I chose this university as I heard from my seniors that the opportunities are good.

Placement is difficult, especially with COVID. You need to make connections with people on LinkedIn who can refer you for a job in their company.

The University of Ottawa is one of the top 10 universities in Canada. There are many good opportunities and also an Indian crowd so you don’t feel lonely in a foreign land.

So there are 3 career fairs in a year where different companies come and you can talk to them. We develop connections with the employees and can email them our resumes. University also helps us in preparing the resume.

The University of Ottawa is a really good university for Civil Engineering. My major is in structural engineering and the university is very well known for that. The course structure is really flexible. Also, there are a lot of choices in courses for structural engineering.

I chose the University of Ottawa's Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in accounting because of the amazing Co-op program they have and I loved the feel of the university and its location. I learned about the school at the Ontario University Fair and then toured it and it totally lived up to my expectations. I only applied to two universities and got into uOttawa a week after I applied with a pretty large scholarship.
