- Labs and research focus of academics is at par with world's best. Access to all the software that you would need as a student and future professional.
Dislikes
- Number of companies for international student is very less, there is no dedicated initiative for international student for finding jobs.
Campus Life
- There are more than 100 student clubs at Purdue and 7 student organisations for Indian international students.
Accommodation
- Online housing portals, 372 per month with all amenities included

- Course Curriculum is designed based on the market which has high demand like cyber security, Software Development, AI and Data Science, Robotics, and Game Programming
- All the courses are affordable, especially Health Insurance comes with Good deal cause medical costs are expensive in USA.
- If we are getting bored we can go around the Down Town where it is located at the bank of the river Chattahoochee, enjoying the nature, and we can explore the beauty of Columbus city in Georgia with free of cost because University provides free shuttle as it has another campus located in down town.
Dislikes
- The thing that I don't like is that the Computer Science building still needs some upgrades especially the Computer Lab and also air-conditioning system.
- I don't like the food in the canteen.
- Recently they have made the account section where we can pay our college bills and all which is not good it nearly takes us hours to pay our fee.
Campus Life
- 2 campuses, one in the down town, which is called the riverside campus and the main campus is in the centre of the city, exit-7. We have a Columbus Indian community recently started a year ago so they usually conduct a few events and celebrate festivals as well.
- Extracurricular activities like our university is one of best in baseball game we have a team named the Cougars; it is the 2007 champions, I am not sure. For every special day, students will conduct events usually it happens every month .
Accommodation
- I found accommodation, after I landed to us my brother received me and he took me to University where we met few Indian students and they helped in finding accommodation. I have got Student Assistant and I payed my rents from the salary. I used my bank loan to pay college fee. Challenges are most of the people are black guys we need to share with them it's really not easy during the beginning days, later it becomes very easy and everything went well. Yeah l, definitely I will future students if they need help. It's about 0.9 mile 10 Minutes walk.

Campus Life
- We have 3 campuses. The Purdue West Lafayette, Purdue Fort Wayne and Purdue Northwest University.
- All the above mentioned facilities are available in all the campuses libraries are huge and available all the time. Sports plus on campus gym and dedicated medical area for services.
- There are many technical flagship events and all global festivals are celebrated in the university every year.
Accommodation
- I opted for off campus since I had my friends staying off campus and also off campus is cheaper than on campus stays. But on campus is very safe.
- I found the accommodation with the help of my friends and there is also an Indian association solely helping the Indian international students.
- It was smooth finding the accommodation.
- For future students, I can definitely help them or help them reach out to students who can help them.
My accommodation is 8 minutes walkable distance from the university. Most of the students stay in community apartments near the college or independent housing, which is also a good option.

Likes
- Academic rigour, frozen tuition, extracurriculars, large campus in a quiet town, friendly people, excellent professors, plenty of mentorship and leadership opportunities
Dislikes
- University dining, lack of proper university housing, lack of funds for certain programs due to frozen tuition.
Campus Life
As good as any campus, 3000 student clubs, 24/7 library, industry leading research.
Accommodation
Uni dorms are 2 people per room for about $8k per year, off campus housing gets you your own room and bathroom for $800/month.
Likes
- I like the environment during football season and basketball season because my college is ranked really high and all the games are pretty intense.
- I appreciate how everyone is part of everything and you rarely see campus empty unless it is during break.
Dislikes
- I dislike how some of the buildings are much older and need repairs.
- I understand that they want to keep some history, but at certain points these damages can hurt students.
Campus Life
There are several clubs and facilities available for students. There is a fitness facility that is free for all students and several organizations that cater to different interests.

Campus Life
There are lot of events happening every day in and around campus. There are many clubs from academic, anime to sports.
Accommodation
Avg rentals are $550 -600 per month
Campus Life
Lots of clubs to choose from that are often promoting themselves and recruiting new members. Student union often holds lots of fun events for students that are free. Could use more libraries on campus for student study spaces. CoRec (sports facility) is well funded and has lots of equipment and classes offered.
Accommodation
My first year I lived in a dorm with one other roommate. The cost was about $850 per month. I now live off campus, and cost of rent has skyrocketed. The biggest con of purdue, would not recommend if you are trying to save on cost of living. My rent has increased from $710 to $1000 in just one year, landlords are extremely greedy in this area and many students are struggling to find affordable housing.
Likes
- "It is the best among my admits. The Electrical and Computer Engineering department is in Top 10. The fee is considerably lower as it is a public university and cost of living is lower. Excellent coursework and research."
- "Lots of efforts has been made to design the coursework that gives tightly coupled theoretical and practical knowledge and skills. Huge campus with lots of facilities. Very good administration."
Dislikes
- Not much. Its the weather that can get rough. Its mostly cold (less than 10 C) and in Jan/Feb it goes upto -25 C.
Campus Life
There are hundreds of clubs covering almost everything. For example, Archipelago Music Club, running club, Wall Climbing Club, Star Wars Club, Indian Association, etc. The infrastructure is excellent. Its huge with big libraries, full wifi connectivity, and a huge Sports center. There is career guidance center, mental health counseling, health center, etc and all of these are free for full time students.
Accommodation
There is enough housing available but slightly far from campus which makes it difficult to commute during winter. avg rent would be 600$ per month for a private room.
Likes
- Co-Op opportunities, industry connections, flexible curriculum
- Faculty, infrastructure, events, professional development opportunities, local community, food, employment opportunities, subjects, flexibility, transportation services
Dislikes
- Housing is an issue but it is manageable if you network and start looking early enough and are ready to compromise to an extent to be able to live closer to the campus
Campus Life
Everything is good if you have the time to join these clubs. Wifi is present everywhere and there are multiple beautiful libraries to study in.
Accommodation
You have to stay off campus as a graduate student . Average cost is around 600$
