IIM Jammu is a spring breaker!

Our institute location is such that every one calls it an institution of paradise.
Not just academics but even life lessons are taught here and with utmost gratification.
I think ours is the only institution where we are provided an optional hobby course too.

Dislikes

Placements are lower in all IIMs and that I feel should change.

Every single IIM too I think have their own method and way and our admission were done through JIPMAT. Half of the students were then cut-down after the interview process which again is tough and gives a perfect run for the money.

The faculty's expertise in teaching, connecting with real-world and more practical knowledge in subjects or live projects or reports or internsships.
There are several clubs and committees that have their own functions and helps the students to upskill in terms of communication, team work, leadership, creativity, adaptibility etc.
Opportunities to interact with other colleges and industry experts through competitions or webinars etc.

Dislikes

The fee structure is too high especially for undergraduate programs.
Sometimes it become too hectic that we cannot find time for our personal other works.

Admission:

There were several other colleges that I had applied for : IIM INDORE, IIM ROHTAK, IIM RANCHI, IIM BODHGAYA, SCMS PUNE, SCMS NOIDA. I got confirm admission from IIM ROHTAK, SCMS NOIDA, IIM BODHGAYA while in SCMS PUNE, I was in waiting list. For IIM Indore as well as IIM RANCHI , i was left behind in sectional cut-off in english . In IIM ROHTAK, I was offered Integrated Programme in Law but I wanted to go in management field hence I refused the offer. Finally i chose IIM JAMMU over IIM BODHGAYA because of it's better NIRF ranking and better placement opportunities. ADMISSION PROCESS OF IIM JAMMU Fisrtly we have to clear JIPMAT (joint integrated programme in management entrance test). Then there will be other components such as cut offs, 10th and 12th scores, gender diversity and JIPMAT score. The ratio for each varies each year . In 2023, when I was cleared the exam , there were only two components, JIPMAT score cutoff and Gender Diversity. The cut-off was as per 2023 are: General male - 350 General female - 328

Administration is not up to the marks and unemphatic towards students necessary needs.
Unnecessary Strict rules are imposed based on the mood of the college

The honor of studying in on the best management college in the India make me sit in the CAT and then after clearing the entrance exam you are entitled to get any IIM based on your Profile (including PI, CAT score, 10th 12th and graduation score etc).

I chose IIM Jammu because it was doing quite well during the period of my admission in terms of the highest package and also, the permanent campus was ready as compared to other baby IIMs. Therefore, i felt confident to take admission at IIM Jammu despite having calls from IIM srimaur and IIM sambalpur.

Eligibility for the exam- JIPMAT is 19-20 years approximately. Exact details are mentioned on the NTA Website each year. From JIPMAT, one can get admitted to either IIM Jammu or IIM Bodh Gaya. Cut off completely depends on difficult level- for general male: somewhere around 330+/400.

You need to be graduate and pass the CAT exam with a good score. Application was with the CAT as it is an IIM. Reservation is also available for reserved students. They got plus marks in the process. Exam is cat and we all know about that

The course curriculum is comprehensive and prepares for an all rounded manager.
Batchmates are competitive and it is exciting to engage with them in learning sphere.

Dislikes

Infrastructure and amenities are not the best.
Faculty shortage is a real concern when it comes to gaining valuable knowledge of IIM level.

Admission:

The admission process is simple. One has to appear for the annual JIPMAT exam and use the scores to apply to IIM Jammu or IIM Bodhgaya. The institute then releases a merit list that gives a list of meritorious students who can get admission. It also releases subsequent waitlists. Admission can be secured by depositing the admission fee. Reservation benefits are in accordance with the government policy. Moreover, girls get 5 % weightage.

The college environment is good but needs a bit more exposure
My engagement is quite extensive with people around me and I love to indulge in various activities of clubs and committees.
Rhe faculties teaching method is good except for some who need experience to be honest.

Dislikes

As I mentioned the exposure is minimum and that interaction remains limited.
The fee is at times to much to incur according to the amount we pay
The administration tends to ignore various problems that we face and it feels like they don't care.

Admission:

The admission procedure was easy although the exam was quite competitive. With out of 6000 students 60 getting placed in IIM jammu The cut off was 95 percentile above for general. The application is easily available on Google everything on the website you can get. The exam is conducted once a year i.e.JIPMAT in particularly May. The difficulty level is moderate like if u put in 3 months of efforts and mock test as well u will clear the exam.

Admission:

The admission process was easy. The exam I took was JIPMAT. Post results merit list was declared and it moves based on the acceptance by students. Girls get 5 extra points for maintaining the ratio and from now onwards 10th, 12th will have much less weightage. Until now there haven't been any PI \GD rounds however in the coming future with growing demand this round seems necessary.

Campus life, as the college is made up of student from different background and culture.
Classroom, as its equipped with cutting edge technological equipment's
Infrastructure, As it has the spread over a large area along with dedicated building for each department

Dislikes

Mess Food, as the quality of the food is not upto the mark and sometimes insects are also found in the meal.
Placement process, The placement process is not upto the mark.
faculty, they are rude to the students with lot of the incident happened in the college

Admission:

All the student who have completed there under graduation and wanted to pursue there career in the management field can apply for the Common admission test (CAT), which is a competitive exam for admission into prestigious management institutes like the IIM's and other top B-school. The CAT application forms open around the september on the CAT official Website and the exam is usually held in november and its a computer based test.I took the Common Admission Test for the MBA Course thru which i score 91.15 percentile under the EWS category. The cutoff for the IIM Jammu under the EWS category was 90 percentile. After that result the interview was held and the composite score of exam and interview score was released by the college along with the college offer letter and waiting list. In my personal opinion, all the process was good except the college offer acceptance and fees payment process in which they provide you little time to think and pay the acceptance fees.

If you do not want to appear for CAT examination for admission to IIM Jammu, then you can apply for IIM Jammu RAT examination and have to pass it with valid scores. The IIM Jammu RAT is conducted by the institute itself. The examination is conducted for admission to PhD.

IIM Jammu Cutoff is 94 percentile for the general category candidates, for EWS and OBC NCL is 77 percentile, 60 percentile for SC, and 40 percentile for ST category. IIM Jammu admission 2024 follows a two-step process i.e. Analytical Writing Test (AWT) & Personal Interview (PI). However, IIMs do not release the CAT cutoffs in the public domain. CAT score holds 40%, PI holds 30%, and profile holds 30% weightage for the selection.
