Placement Experience:

IIM Jammu offers very good placement opportunities for all the students. Currently IIM Jammu has an average package of 1550000 which is very good. Average stipend for SIP is 55000 for 2 months. There are numerous companies which comes to IIM Jammu ranging from ICICI, DE Shaw, ABC group, V Guard, Deloitte, EY etc. The highest package was 6400000 last year which was given by Microsoft. 100% placement is there in IIM Jammu for SIP as well as final placements. Campus Placements start from the 4th semester onwards. There were a total of 239 students to be placed. One hundred twenty-six companies came to the campus with 246 offers. The highest CTC stood at 64 LPA, while the average and median stood at 16.43 LPA and 15.35 LPA, respectively. The average package increased by over 19% this year. The average for freshers was 15.5 LPA, whereas for experienced candidates, it was 20 LPA.

IIM Lucknow mentors IIM Jammu with respect to faculty, curriculum and pedagogy. IIM Jammu and IIM Lucknow have almost the same teachers, barring a few. Moreover, the pedagogy and curriculum of both these colleges is the same. But IIM Lucknow does not extend its mentorship in case of IIM Jammu placements.

The crowd of new IIMs is really good. The students from IIM Jammu are tough opponents for IIM A B C students in various competitions. IIM Jammu has a student exchange program that offers meritorious students to complete a trimester at a European university. The placements of IIM Jammu are equal to other baby IIMs.

IIM Jammu carries the prestigious ‘IIM’ tag which has a high value in the industry. I would recommend you join IIM Jammu for your MBA.

IIM Lucknow does mentor IIM Jammu. But this mentorship extends only to the faculty, curriculum, and pedagogy of IIM Jammu. Most of the faculty of IIM Jammu and IIM Lucknow are the same. Also, the pedagogy and curriculum of both these colleges is the same. But IIM Lucknow does not look after the placements of IIM Jammu in any way.

It isn't correct to assume that the students of new IIMs aren’t as good as those of the old ones. The students of IIM Jammu have won several competitions. They are strong competitors for IIM A and B students.

Apart from this, IIM Jammu has a Student Exchange Program. It allows deserving students to complete a trimester at a European college. The placements of Jammu are on par with other baby IIMs. But you won’t get the same placements as the older IIMs. Finally, IIM Jammu carries the prestigious ‘IIM’ tag, which holds a lot of value in the industry.

The choice is completely yours, but I would personally recommend IIM Jammu for an MBA.

How is IIM Jammu in terms of exposure and placements?

IIM Jammu is better than other baby IIMs and private b schools (except the top ones). Its location is better than other baby IIMs as Jammu is a much larger city. IIM Lucknow shares its faculty with IIM Jammu. So the education of IIM Jammu is top class. Moreover, Jammu is not very far away from Delhi. This is helpful from a placement point of view. Reputed brands find it easier to access the IIM Jammu campus.

Last year, the placements concluded at 100% for MBA students. 126 recruiters visited the campus in total, and 246 offers were made. The highest CTC was 64 LPA and the average was 16.50 LPA. The major recruiting domains were Sales & Marketing, and General Management. The highest recruitments sector-wise were in BFSI, IT, and Analytics. Aditya Birla Group, Cognizant, ICICI Bank, and Adani are some of the major recruiters for last year.

IIM Jammu has released its placement report for the MBA batch of 2021-2023.

As per the official data, the average CTC for the batch was Rs. 16.50 LPA. The median CTC was Rs. 15.25 LPA, and the highest CTC was Rs. 64 LPA. The top 10% students received an average CTC of Rs. 32.04 LPA. This figure was Rs. 24.50 LPA for the top 25% students. The average CTC for freshers was Rs. 15.68 LPA.

126 recruiters visited the campus for placements. The highest offers were received from the Marketing/Sales domain (26%). The highest CTC were offered by the Operations domain (Avg. Rs. 27.33 LPA). The list of prominent recruiters included Aditya Birla Group, Cognizant, ICICI Bank, Adani, KPMG, HDFC Bank, and many others.

IIM Jammu Placements 2023 concluded with 100% Placements. A total of 126 recruiters participated in the placement among which 59 were new recruiters. 246 offers were made to 233 participating students. Around 24 students were made multiple offers. IIM Jammu's Average Package increased by 19% which stood at INR 16.5 LPA whereas IIM Jammu Highest Package stood at INR 64 LPA. IIM Jammu IPM Summer Internship Placements report for the 2021-26 batch has been released. The highest stipend stood at INR 50 K per month & the average stipend stood at more than INR 25 K per month. The highest number of offers came from the FMCG & Energy sectors. IIM Jammu MBA Summer Internship Placements 2024 report has also been released. A total of 116 recruiters made Internship offers. IIM Jammu's Highest Stipend stood at INR 2 Lakhs whereas IIM Jammu's Average Stipend stood at INR 68.2 K. Recruiters like Aditya Birla Group, Cognizant, ICICI Bank, Capgemini, Accenture Deloitte Participated in the placement drive of 2023.
