- I get swami vivekananda merit cum scholarship which is very helpful for me.
- Placements the placement for computer science and technology department is really appreciable and since it is a college of national importance, some really highy package giving companies come for placements and take a good handful number of student.
- Campus is very green and lovely. you would surely love the experience.
Dislikes
- The hostel facility is horrible in our college we don't have many single seater rooms there were very limited which intern causes disputes among students and the food facility was also not good it's really very hard
- Actually hostel facilities is not good in indian institute of enginnering science and technology the maintainnace is poor and my college is in west bengal, shibpur and for me i dont like bengal food as i am from andhra pradesh.
- The hostels are a bit bad in condition. one has to face some problems regarding stay.

Course Curriculum Overview:
I choose computer science and technology because I just love to spend time with electronic equipment. Many faculties are very friendly and very supportive. Exams come twice in one semester one in the mid-semester and the other at the end semester.

Placement Experience:
first of all, every department gets placement. most of the students get a place in 8 semesters but some of them get PPO during internships. Microsoft, Google, Wipro, TCS, etc. Microsoft gives the highest package and mass recruitment give the normal package. from my dep. 100 percentplacement.

Students are eligible for placements at the end of 3rd year . Some famous companies like IBM, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT, INDIAN OIL, RELIANCE, ITC, HIDUSTAN MOTORS, TATA are the frequent visitors. Highest package for 2021 was 51.75 LPA and in 2022 it was around 52 LPA and of campus highest was above 1cr, 1022 companies visited and made 635 offers for a batch of 533 Btech students. Research facilities are very good in the college.

Placement Experience:
The placement of the college is very good. The college has a record of 100% placement. The college placement committee is responsible for placement and we have to register our name for the placement to the placement committee. The placement committee fully supports us and works as the guiding force in providing good placements. The highest package for our batch was around 25 LPA and the average package was around 11 LPA. Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Google, and Microsoft were the top recruiters.

Nice placement here.the highest in campus placement is 40 lpa.average is almost 6-7 lpa.cs and it department enjoy average of 9-10 lpa.the off campus placement is very good.this year many students from it and cs got placement/internship in Google swe.

Placement Experience:
From the 3rd year, you are eligible for internships, and from the beginning of the 4th year, you will get the pre-placement offer. Amazon, Microsoft, Wipro TCS, Accenture, Adobe, and many other companies visited here. The average package is about 12 lpa and the maximum went 51 lpa in 2021. About 85 percent of students got placed and the rest opted for higher studies. I am opting for higher studies after my b.tech.

Placement Experience:
College provides internship offers from third year with paid internships. Also, college provides on campus placement opportunities from fourth year. Many students get PPO. Big tech companies like Microsoft, Amazon Flipkart and Mercedes-Benz comes to give offers to students specially in the fourth year.

Placement Experience:
I am from the computer science and technology branch(2021-25). talking about the placement percentage of the 2022 batch of my branch present scenario 69 out of 71 eligible students already get a placement at the beginning of the 7th semister. Still, almost 8-10 months are left for placement sessions. nows only 1-2 students left as per official data provided on their official FB page. on the basis of that, I can say that (97-98)% of students get placed. and as per my knowledge, this year is a 100% placement of CST branch(my branch).
Higest Package:- 52.57 LPA(on-campus)
(3 students from my branch and other students from IT, ETC branches too.
Lowest Package:- 4LPA(only 2-3 students)
(Remember placement is ongoing so they may get the high package in upcoming days as their peeps do)
Average Package:- 17LPA (approx)(boom! it's amazing and record-breaking).
Top Companies(on-campus):- Google(this year), Microsoft(9), Atlassian(4), Amazon(4), Samsung(21), Mercedes Benz(3), wells fargo(9), Deutsche bank(9) etc.

Being the Oldest Engineering College of India situated along a metropolitan city, the college has a rich alumni base and fabulous track record of producing world renowned engineers in every field. The college was established in 1856 as Bishop's College Calcutta and consequently became an institute of national importance for India in 2014. The college can improve its rich and historical infrastructure and lead other institutions in many fields like Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering and others.

One of my friends is a final-year student at IIEST Shibpur. According to him, the placement last year has been great. Microsoft IDC (PPO), Mentor Graphics, CESC Ltd (PPO), Tata Steel (PPO), Bentley Systems completed their recruitment process on campus and hired more candidates than they did last year. Companies like Atlassian, Samsung R&D, and PwC are also expected to recruit on campus. A brief discussion about placements and other aspects of the institute are as follows.
Placements:
- Pre-final year students got internship offers from various firms like Microsoft R&D, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, and Texas Instruments this year. Other firms which will be having on-campus recruitment will most likely be hiring interns also. Hence, needless to mention that the placement scenario has continued its trend of improvement this year as well.
- Students have been hired in companies like Microsoft IDC, Cognizant, Samsung R&D, Infosys, TCS Research and Innovation, Z. S. Associates, etc. from campus placements. Off-campus placements also include Google (Bangalore).
- The median salary that has been offered is around 7 LPA and every one of the scholars participating in placements got placed. The placement cell improved and has become more proactive and efficient in training and placement of scholars.
Infrastructure:
- All departments, libraries and hostels are Wi-Fi enabled with decent speeds. The Science and Technology Department features a 1Gigabit backbone network.
- The rooms and labs are well maintained and have all the specified equipment. The central library is not extremely big but features a good assortment of useful titles. There are smaller departmental libraries also.
- The hostels are decent and clean but might be improved. They need indoor game facilities also. A replacement hostel for women has just been built and features a far better review.
- There are multiple canteens on Campus serving good quality food at reasonable rates and a CCD stall with significantly cheaper rates than usual.
- Other amenities include Gymnasium, Sports fields, Court and Infirmary.
Faculty:
- The college consists of highly qualified and knowledgeable teachers. They clear the doubts if consulted. Most teachers teach using both chalkboard and multimedia aids.
- There are multiple teachers and other lab assistants to guide the students during the lab classes.
- The course curriculum is aligned with most other national institutions and contains the essential topics necessary for the course.
The campus is lush green and located on the bank of the river Ganges. Right beside the institute is Botanical Gardens. Many events take place at the institute all year around. There are annual Techno-Management fest Instruo, Annual Cultural fests Rebecca and Anuranan, and departmental fests. Besides that, there are also sports events. Meritorious students can avail scholarships sponsored by the Alumni Association.
