- College is at a walking distance from Howrah Maidan Metro Station.
- College has the best faculties and also the best classes and labs.
Dislikes
- Some buildings are torned out now and needs a redevelopment.
Fees and Financial Aid:
The most reasonable college on the planet is IIEST Shibpur with a fees of just 68000 a year. Facilities are better than Jadavpur or for that matter top private universities like Techno India or Sister Nivedita University.
Likes
- The faculty at IIEST SHIBPUR is very experienced and research oriented. They are very helpful in providing everything that the student needs. They are very approachable for any form of academic doubts
- The diversity of students and IIEST SHIBPUR is commendable. We have students from all over India engaging in all types of activities. THE DIVERSE CONNECTIONS YOU WILL FIND HERE IS UNMATCHED.
Dislikes
- The hostels are old and dipidated. The mess food is not up to the mark. Mini buildings are in shabby and poor condition due to the lack of renovation. Many of the things are not properly well maintained like bathrooms, water cooler etc.
- Despite having all the necessary infrastructure many of the research labs are in heavy condition due to the lack of funds. Sometimes the professors do research only for the sake of doing research and for getting funds.
Fees and Financial Aid:
At IEST shibpur the semester fees for semester is around 68000 including the tuition fees and other miscellaneous fees. For SC and ST candidates the tuition fee is fully waived. The college provides 2/3 Rd waiver and full waiver for needy students having the family income between 1 to 5 lacs and less than 1 lakh. Our college also provides scholarships which are provided by the alumni(GAABESU) . This includes excellence fellowships,research scholarships and need based merit scholarships.

- The College was quite small but it was situated in the city middle so it was not required a large area
- The natural condition was quite good, The hostel was good
Dislikes
- The campus was quite old one, the need to do some repair
- The College wifi was good but it ask to sign in every day

The hostel food facility was good, As the strength per hostel ki quite less - 132 The food decision was on the hands of the hostelers The paid money is adjusted by the students itself, so we can rise voice if we won't like the food

- The college has a large campus size. considering the surrounding areas are really congested, relative to that the college has a large campus area.
- Good sports facilities are there if one is interested in sports, various kinds of competitions, fests, departmental fests, annual college cultural fest take place in the even semester.
Dislikes
- College doesn't have enough hostel accomodation to accommodate all the students, forcing many students to commute daily or to take up flats nearby the college at a high cost as PGs aren't available nearby.
- Students residing in the flats nearby have to arrange everything ranging from food to stay to necessary furnitures themselves. Also the food that is available nearby isn't good, it's unhealthy and not advisable for daily intake.
Fees and Financial Aid:
Basically there are 3 different feelings structure for students based on family income Students having family income > 5LPA have to pay the entire fees of 68k per semester(applicable for gen, gen-ews, obc-ncl) Students having family income between 1 and 5 lpa get 2/3rd tution fee waiver (for gen, gen-ews, obc-ncl Students having family income < 1 lpa get full tution fee waiver. SC/ST get full tution waiver irrespective of family income. Students with full tution fee waiver have a fees of about 5k which gets reimbursed by various scholarship schemes. I got admission through obc-ncl quota and have family income 6lpa hence I have to pay the full fees of 68k every semester.

- First of all it is old, so that the alumi connection is very strong.
- All departments are good, except one (electrical)
Dislikes
- Electrical engineering department teachers doesn't gives marks as other departments teacher gives

I don't have access for the scholarship , but In our college they scholarship named as GABESU , in this process this scholarship is given every semester on the basis of family's monthly income and CGPA basis

- Classrooms , labs and academic related things are just perfect.
- sports ,clubs for dance , music, photography are too good
Dislikes
- Campus maintenance is not good . some places are bad
- The food is not too good in hostels . It is difficult for the south Indians to eat.

Fee depends on family's economic conditions. My fee is Rs.68,500/- per semester and my hostel fee is Rs. 22,000/- . There are many scholarships like GAABESU, FFE and all but I am not eligible to them. i have not undertaken any campus employment.
Likes
- Freedom is available in college. But if you don't use it properly it will be hell.
- It's connectivity ia very good. Near by Saleamar,howrah station and near by kolkata.
Dislikes
- There is 75 percent attendance is mandatory.
- Physics faculties are not good. They don't give efforts.

See cost of study at IIEST is low 1.4 lac per year but if you get twf then it will be 60000. And it can be 10000 for SC ST candidates. Seniors are very helpful in giving news of scholarship, you have to be ready to take it.

- The campus is very beautiful and full of trees.

- Some of our buildings of our college are very old .
- In our hostel the rooms are not so big and not suitable for living 4 students together .

I am from the family with annual income 48000 . So I have to pay Rs 5500 in every semester. There are also some scholarship to support our financial problem . I get Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum scholarship which is very helpful for me.

- In campus you find 3 lakes. which is one of the best things i found in college.
- campus is near by city so you can go to city in weekends.
Dislikes
- here you find a graveyard which is worst thing seen in college
- washroom of hostel is not maintained properly

- The thing I like about the faculty as they are very disciplined and stick to their teaching.
- The students around me are very competitive which leads to my own development.

- The infrastructure here is very old especially the hostel buildings are very rusted.

The institute fees in this college is Rs. 71000 which includes tuition fees of Rs. 62500 and other fees like caution money, etc. And I also paid Rs. 29500 for hostel and mess. Although I have not gotten any scholarship yet , but I will get full tuiton fee waiver in few months as I belong to GEN-EWS category and my family income is less than 1 lakh rupees. The campus jobs here is quite decent as almost 75-80% of students get placed with a good package. The stipend or package is different for different departments and for different companies offering the jobs.

Which is better: NIT Bhopal for electrical or IIEST, Shibpur for a mechanical dual degree?
NIT Bhopal also called MANIT (Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology) is approved by MHRD and AICTE. It is ranked 65 for BTech and 101 overall by NIRF 2020. BTech in Electrical Engineering is offered as a 4 year full time course.

The placement statistics at IT in IIEST are excellent. The esteemed companies that are recruiters for IT include PwC, Veritas, HSBC, Microsoft, Adobe, TCS, CTS, Wipro, Infosys, etc. You will be offered internships in your 3rd year. The major recruiters in IIEST are IT companies. Therefore, from the IT department, the majority of students are able to receive placements except for a few.
