University of Calcutta Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Since I'm reading the same course in the same college I did my graduation, things are pretty much the same to me except for the syllabus. The faculty-to-student ratio has decreased from 11:28 to 11:20. The course has just begun and the faculty has been the same to us as before. Looking forward to a great 2-year experience.

Calcutta university is one of the most popular universities in India. Now it holds 3rd rank in India. The admission process is completed in two ways- one: entrance basis for non-CU students and two : merit basis for CU students in M.Sc. Well known and very good faculties, less expensive fees, very nice environment.

They can enroll in the placement cell which helps with placements, Some departments get quite good placements from reputed companies. After getting the degree, I plan on sitting for the JAM MSc entrance exams. Also Really good for other departments like BCom and economics but you usually don't look for placement after graduation in the arts stream. You have to go for masters. So if you're a commerce or a science student and you're looking for a college with good placement after graduation, St Xavier's College is one of the best colleges in the country and in Kolkata the best.

I did my B.Sc in microbiology. So I chose biotechnology which is more or less the same. In the biotechnology department, there are four teachers and fourteen students. All the professors were highly qualified. All of them have Ph.D. Their teaching methods are also great. Some of them are really friendly. This is a two-years long course. It is comprised of a total of four semesters. So there is a total of four exams. No mid-term examination is there. The difficulty level is moderate. You need to practice more to get a decent mark.

There is a placement cell in our college. Our college offers placement in TCS, Cognizant, Wipro and in many reputed MNCs. Most students get recruited from English honours, economics honours, and computer science. I have got a job, right before my last semester, but it was off campus.

As this course is mainly research-oriented, students completing this program are taught to clear PhD entrance exams to get into the research field. Placement is certainly not the first choice of students. But if a student wants to get into industry then an industrial internship during the summer internship program will be of major help.

Because it has archaeology stream, and it is near to my home, so I always preferred this to get the admission, other colleges were not near to my house or was in other states, beside these things this college is much cheaper than others, it gets good score by NAAC team.

Good campus, get some sort of good vibes chill, academic are also good love the environment,moreover teachers are good, I opted this course Geography as I want to know more about places so hoping for the best

The faculty is top notch, good laboratories and experienced staff who help you to have hands on experience of conducting experiments. Libraries with very good reference books at easy access. I took up zoology because it's obviously an interesting subject and also because it is a very basic subject from which multiple avenues open.

It is one of the best Government Funded Universities in India and the most renowned Government aided University Campus in Kolkata for studying Human Physiology. Since it is Government funded the course fees is affordable. Some of the best research personnels for Human Physiology are faculties here.
