This college was my first choice in jossa , as my advanced didntt go very well . I chose this one because of higher placement and better curriculum than other NITs in the same league. The admission process is through JEE mains only

Professors are very helpful and explains each concept very clearly
Senior of the college are very helpful in contest of giving guidance about coding ,academics etc
College has assigned mentors to each to cater their needs and solve their problem that they are facing

Dislikes

marking scheme is very strict their is cut to cut fight for marks among students
some students do setting with their TA's to get marks in their exams
their is Jee like competition among students for marks in semester exams

Admission:

IIIT ALLAHABAD has high placement record by getting highest placement of 1.25cr and an average package of 35 lpa like i also applied for dtu and nsut but they have less placement as compared to iiit allahabad and iiit allahabad has more reputation than nsut and dtu .

Likes

The course curriculum is very relevant, so you don't have to study biology and chemistry.
Junior Senior interaction is very good, no ragging culture.
I like the infrastructure of this college, buildings and campus is well maintained .

Dislikes

Extra curricular activities like sports, dance, music is not much here.
It has little bit of hectic acads, there are lots of assignments and quizs.
Faculties are strict but some are chill and have expertise in their domain.

Admission:

I also tried for MNNIT Allahabad, I got it in JOSAA counselling but I didn't go for because it has old infrastructure and placements stats of IIIT allahabad is better that's why I chose IIITA. So I got IIIT allahabad through JOSAA counselling by JEE MAINS.

Well every thing is very good in this college facilities in Sports
The Hostels are also very good not more than double sharing
Academics are also excellent here specially Coding culture

Dislikes

The mess food , initially I liked it but now it sucks
Hectic Academics 🥲 the schedule is very hectic some times in Saturday it's working day .
As there is no state quota in IIITA so their is variety of students but still south people are atleast 1/4 in strength .

Admission:

Our college is way better than other colleges (not comparing with IIT's ) but NITs and other IIITs due to aur Exceptional Placements with an avg package of 32 lpa and with a highest placement of 1.2 cr . The admission is through JOSSA and DASA councelling.

Admission:

Most of the people including me chose it for placements. I left IIIT LUCKNOW for this college . I rejected the other college because i wanted a good campus as well as good placements. Admission process is Josaa councelling by NTA.

Iiit allahabad best average package college

They have a great campus, they have all facilities for sports but some of them are not properly functioning
They have various clubs which promotes social interactions and healthy environment
They have a very good coding culture and which reflects their placement

Dislikes

Faculty is not that great , in the end you have to study from online resources
Every one is just studying and not physically active in sports
There sports facilities are worn out and requires time to bring new ones

Admission:

This college has the highest return on interest as it has low fees and a high average package. I was allotted this college after Jossa. I gave jee mains exam, this college doesn't have a state quota. The admission experience was smooth

Placements are very good and the peer here is very good and motivates you to work on your skills and improve yourself
There is a pretty decent sport culture also and but not that great
And everyone is coding here so you are good for placements with it and it students also help you to be better at coding if you are in ece

Dislikes

Course is very rigorous all you have to do is go to lab do this assignment do that
Girls to boys ratio is very low like 4:1
The campus is very small and even after being small half the college is filled with apartments for professors and students are not allowed to go there

I chose this college because i wanted to do ece . But the thing that attracted me the most are the placements as i was also getting ee at nit allahabad which is also not a bad college but the placements here attracted me . The admission is through JOSAA counselling . The exam required for this college is JEE MAINS cutoff for ece is around 7500 for general

Likes

The placements of IIIT Allahabad is high compared to other top NITs and IIITs. My ECE average package is 29LPA.
The infrastructure of IIIT Allahabad is average and better than most of IIITs and average NITs
There are certain course like youth employment skills are good.

Dislikes

The academic in IIIT Allahabad is very hectic.
The college campus is very small as compared to others. The main area for students is almost 50acrez
The boys is to girls ratio is 4:1 that is not too good.

I really like the academic quality of my college and how serious they are about it, they conduct timely quizzes and tests to keep the stundents under check which at times is also annoying.
The college is very famous for its coding culture and also an updated industry focused cirriculum where they dont teach us unrelated subjects like chemistry.
Our college is also GOATED for the placement records, as they provide a very good support and big FANG companies visit the campus to recruit students.

Dislikes

Mess food might be an issue for those who are from south of India.
Also the campus though decent but is not of very huge size and you would start feeling it to be quiet small after some time.
Extreme climatic conditions for few times in a year.

Admission:

As mentioned earlier the reason for chosing this college is an up to date cirriculum, coding culture and the packages. I also applied to some private colleges like Manipal, Anurag University and also IIIT Banglore and also would have got an confirmed admission form but i didnt choose them because of their hefty fee and also as this was a better option for me. The admission process of my college for B.Tech course is through JoSSA and CSAB councelling. JEE mains is the entrance exam and most students prefer the IT branch of my college.

Why is the cutoff of IIIT Allahabad considerably low (around 5k), even if it can be compared to top notch institutions like IITs?

There are several reasons for the low cutoffs of IIIT Allahabad. These are-

No Home State Quota- IIITA doesn’t have a home state quota for its seats. So the seat availability for students from across India increases, and the cutoffs get lowered.

Almost double the seats in IT as compared to the NITs- IIITA offers more than 200 seats for the IT branch. Alongside this, there are two integrated M.Tech programs for IT. This allows for more IT seats at IIITA than the CSE seats at NITT and NITW combined. This is another reason for a lower cutoff for the IT stream.

Without any strong reasons, students prefer CSE over IT.

A strong inclination among the students for studying in their Home NITs.

The old NITs were established much before IIIT Allahabad.

This is why IIIT Allahabad has low cutoffs for its B.Tech courses even though it is a top institute of India.

Why is the cutoff rank of the IIIT Allahabad IT branch so low (4550 as of 2017) when it is comparable to CS in other NITs and some IITs?

My younger sister has enrolled in the CSE program at NIT and it has excellent facilities for the program. The brand name of NIT and IIT is still more popular for some of the engineering aspirants because they lack awareness. Even my sister thought so before admissions, but NIT ranks #16 on the NIRF Engineering scale, IIIT A ranks #103, and IITs are usually in the top 5 in the same.

Furthermore, your decision may change based on the following-

The location of IIIT Allahabad is a factor contributing to its low popularity. It is located in a small village area called Jhalwa. There are no recreational facilities around and the only eating outlets are MacDonald's and Dominoes, which harm in the long run.
The placement statistics of IIIT A show that it has a good 96% placement rate, but not many top companies come to visit because of the location. Networking is not an issue, but an institute in a developed area would have easy accessibility, lectures by renowned faculty, spots of refreshment; which are not present here.
The hostels are not very good and those who reside in them, face difficulties related to social outings.
Another fact of importance is that this institute has only two departments: Information Technology and Electronics and Communication.

It has been ranked among top 100 best engineering colleges in India by NIRF, 2020. So clearly getting into IIIT-A will be quite difficult. The latest statistics show that you must be ranked below 5K in IIT-JEE Main in order to get into B.Tech in IT if you fall under OBC category. Business Informatics was chosen by one of my friends at IIIT Allahabad. So, I will be able to share some of his experiences. The course mainly focuses on business and technology domains. The faculty is very helpful and supportive and you feel like home here.

Placements:

The branch was established in 2019 which is why there are currently no placement statistics.
However, you can assume that they are almost the same as IT, because after all, it's an IT branch, and then BI as a specialisation.
You don't need to worry about placements, because it's really a worthy discipline.

Cutoffs: If you are in the general category, the cut-off was approximately 7100 according to the last year. Perhaps this year also the cut-off will be similar due to low deviation. The Cut-off stats of 2020 of JEE Mains by NTA are as follows:

As per the previous analysis of the JEE mains cutoff of IIIT Allahabad, your percentile might not be sufficient for the Btech admissions. But, you may get the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Noida Institute of engineering and technology, Sharda University, KIET, etc with various specializations.

Yes, JoSAA has released Cutoff 2024 and Rounds 1-6 Seat allotment for IIIT Allahabad. The percentile for General males is 99.2, and for females is 98.6, for EWS males is 99, for females 98.5, OBC males 98.7 females are 98, SC males 96.3 females are 95.

Yes, IIIT Allahabad just like any other Central Funded Institute accepts CAT scores for admission to MBA program, followed by a GD and PI. The scores of CAT 2023 will remain valid till December 2024 for admission process. For that you must have passed UG degree with 65% (55% for reserved categories) to be eligible for admission.
