- Teaching here is top notch , the faculty is highly experienced and there are teaching assisstents too which help us in understanding the concepts really well
- Placements of iit mandi are great and more than 400 companies including top companies like amazon, google, microsoft etc.
- Good thing is that college provides scholarship for economically backward students .
Dislikes
- There is a lack of proper course layout, examination systems and management
- Branch change- from 2024 onwards there will be no branch change . i think its bad decision as it was giving opportunities to the students to change their branches if they dont like the course structure .
- Faculty: some faculty are very rude to students and grading is relatively tough.

always positive as this is iit. social symbol of our society. never compare this college to any other college of north india. its provided good knowledge with good skills. to stand out in the crowd of engineers. i strongly say please prepare to get this college.

See my college exists in the remote location in Kamand but this is IIT so they are endeavoring a lot for the proper functioning of the institute Our director along with the professor has put the fulcrum of this college to flourish

I only have positive remarks that mess food is great, sports section is great, festsare great and faculty is great. Teaching assistants are great. Also infrastructre environment, clubs also we have annual inter iit cultural, sports, and tech fest in which every iit takes part and ig is a great experience.

The most important positive remark is the location of the institute which exponentially increases its value. It truly helped me with personal growth. Negative remark would be that the institute is new which also comes with its own challenges.

No Negative remark. You will definately enjoy the mountains here here are many club of adventure activities like mountain biking, hikig and trekking approx every Saturday they organise trek on some peak. That is for health too.

College life is awesome. There are good clubs and other things to enjoy other than the academics. There are every single facility that is needed generally. It is the most beautiful IIT campus among all the other IITs

The place is one of the best to live and spend 4 years of your lives. One can go trekking on mountains and also enjoy rare snowfall in campus. Situated along the river Uhl, it provides a serene and peaceful place.

College ia quite decent . Have more invlination and facilities towards the girls .
Also they dont take tutuion fee from girls and location disadvantages are thereb. But the weather you get in mandi can never be found in any other iit.

Positive remarks :- Boys girls ratio is much better than any other IITs
Girls are given special scholarship and facilities.
Branch change in 2nd year have 50% possibilities very high than other colleges.
Students population is very low than other colleges.
IIT Mandi is in hills of Himalaya.

What is your review of Faculty Of IIT Mandi?

I have gone through the faculty profile given on the official website of IIT Mandi. It looks similar to that of all newly established IITs, except for IIT Gn and IIT H, which are better than the others.
One of my friends is also a student of the Mechanical branch at IIT Mandi. Most of the faculty members in the Mechanical branch are married couples. One of them got a job here and after that, they recommended their spouses.
In terms of research, the branch is not that good. Most of the faculties just mug up a research paper and publish a new one. One of the faculties became associate by doing the same. If you want to pursue higher studies in Mechanical, then don’t choose IIT Mandi.
