Superb college

Likes

Quality of infrastructure is very good and there is proper ventilation in classes and also the behaviour of professor is good
Library is world class and there is proper availability of books
Lab facility is very good and there is all the machine available for test

Dislikes

Ground is not in good condition and not grass
Civil building is to old and it is not up to the mark
There is dust in college which is not good but it reduce

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our course is semester-wise. So, every semester we studied 5 or 6 subjects. The exam was conducted in two parts within the semester. The first exam was conducted in the mid-semester which was 30 marks and the second exam was conducted in the end semester which was 50 marks. All the faculty members are Ph.D. and very talented. Also, they are helpful for solving the problem or doubt at any time. Sometimes organise a guest lecture or seminars for interested students and teachers.

College is very good and very good environment to improve your self and campus life are very good.

Dislikes

Many i am not agree with that is they have to update how student should teach.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My main reason for pursuing this course is. I want to learn maths from a good lecturer which will help in future upsc preparation and another exam. Faculty are absolutely brilliant they are very dedicated and they are mastered in mathematics. They are well qualified. I think they all are phd holders in their respective subjects. But something I miss they have to improve their teaching methods. My exam is not held yet but they are on time and I think they are difficult.

I like the campus beauty.its all greenery all around the campus.
I like the sports facilities very much and hostel mess was above my expectations
I also like the campus area is so good u and connection between students and teachers.they have good nature

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible in their 7 semester or 8th semester depending. there were many companies including Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, you can visit the website for a brief. tge highest package was 44lpa an average of 7lpa .88 per cent of students got placements here which was the highest.

A subpar college experience.

Likes

The new hostel for 2nd year students has spacious rooms and well-functioning bathrooms.
The students that enter this college are motivated and a good affect on your character.

Placement Experience:

The placements for M.Sc. students start in the 9th semester and are carried throughout the 5th year. Most students in the M.Sc. departments choose to go for research and higher studies after completion of their courses. The rest are placed in companies like TCS, Tata Elxsi, Byjus, and Allen with an average CTC of 6.32 lpa. The highest placement ever in the department has been from Samsung at 20 lpa in 2021. Out of the 44 students that sat for placements in the year 2023, around 20 were placed. Most of the students who get placed do extra work on the side besides college work. I plan on doing the same and applying for companies off campus as well.

The real truth

Likes

Central canteen menu and food is available at very cheap cost
Central library full air conditioning and good environment for studies

Dislikes

Administration and security guards behaviour is not good .they used to talk very rudely

Placement Experience:

7th-semester students are eligible for placement. Amazon, master card, TCS, and many more. It depends on the Circuital branch there is 100 percent placement. When we talk about core, placement is less. I have to pursue a career in the software field.

For Btech students campus placement starts from their 7th Semester and For integrated Msc student placement starts from their 9th Semester. Companies from all the sectors of the industry come for the recruitment process

True review about SVNIT.

Likes

Sports activities I liked the most. Many tournament is organised in which students can participates and improve their game.
Most people get placed with good package. It is big plus for the college.

Dislikes

College politics. I am not interested in politics but you can't stay away from it.
Inflexibility in academic curriculum. You have to study those subject not of your interest.

Placement Experience:

For Btech, from the 7th semester and for MSC, from the 9th semester, you are eligible for campus placement. More than 300 companies visit the campus every year and more than 900 people get placed. As of now Rs 4400000 is the highest package from the campus placement. More than 80% of students get placed every year. I shall be pursuing higher study.

Short story about SVNIT SURAT.

Likes

Faculty members of the institute, as they teaches so deeply .
Seniors are very friendly, they tell about everything.
Whether that is so awesome, temperature maintained during all the year exept some months.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is not too good, as maintanence work is going on all the time.
Games facilities are poor, as cricket ground is not maintained, and other grounds are also in poor condition.
In summer time their is a very humidity in environment.

Placement Experience:

The placement process at SVNIT involves inviting companies for recruitment drives, organising pre-placement talks and interviews, and facilitating the placement process. Many reputed companies from various industries visit the campus for recruitment. As Microsoft ,Google ,Amazon Tata Motors ,L&T ,Reliance Industries Adani Group ,Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Infotech. Off-campus Placements, Higher Studies, Skill Development Programs etc. As per my plan i want to study higher education. 60% students get their Placements.

A Glimpse of SVNIT

Likes

The location of the college in a metropolis is the main attraction.
The diversity of the students from every corner of the country.
The freedom enjoyed to follow our passion rather than just attend college

Dislikes

The constant slip in the NIRF ranking of the college.
No personalised teaching as in private institutions
The obsession with just one sport Cricket and negligence towards others

Placement Experience:

SVNIT offers good placements. Students begin to recieve offers from 6th sem onwards. Companies visiting the campus include Accenture, Samsung, Byjus, Google, Goldman Sachs, Federal Bank and amny more. The highest package was 40LPA (domestic) in the year 2022. Average placement for all branches is 10LPA and for CSE the average is around 15 LPA. Percentage of students placed was 80%. For MSc Mathematics, the average was thrid highest among all branches in 2022 which stood at 9.22 LPA. As I have a passion towards economics, I will look for similar jobs and services as it is also aligned towards mathematics.

My side of view

Likes

Hostel life is good here because I made lots of friends to hangout with.
Location of the SVNIT is at the best place. It is at the Centre of the City. And Airport and railway station is near.
Library of Svnit is good, there are lots of books and you can study there in exam time.

Dislikes

It doesn't have auditorium of it's own, because of which Canteen areas is decorated for any occasions.
Playground of Svnit is not good for playing.
Mess Food is very bad and you will not get Non - veg in mess

Many companies visit our campus for internship opportunities such jpmc, Barclay, gap, etc. To get through this it is important to have a solid understanding of fundamental concepts and to have a nice project. The internship period is of 2 months and get in summer vacation period. You can get a research internship in the college itself under the professors, google, Microsoft, Amazon, l and t, TVs and many companies who visited every year for internships with a good amount of stipend and opportunities.

My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.

For sports enthusiasts, SVNIT is not the right choice. The condition of sports facilities at our college is not good. The sports grounds are not in a good shape. The cricket/football ground becomes a grassland from July to December.

The indoor badminton courts, which are two in number, are immensely insufficient to cater to around 4000 students. Each one has to wait a long time for their turn, and is given around 10 minutes to play the sport. Such a huge number of students can not access the badminton courts for sufficient durations. MMNCT is the best sports event of the year. It is an inter-year cricket tournament that takes place at night. The gym is well designed and has all the modern equipment.

Many classes are boring. But a lot of the professors, especially in the Civil department, teach really well. The marking system is very transparent, and after 15-30 days post the exams, answer sheets are made available for students to have a look. The classrooms are also very school-like in appearance. The rules are lenient, and most teachers are satisfied with a 60% student attendance.

The location is quite good, and malls, theaters, etc. are easily accessible. The campus is located in a posh area of Surat. Places like Mumbai, Daman, etc. are easily accessible for getaways. The placements are top notch, the clubs are plenty and quite decent. The mess food is quite good as well.

Unless you are very serious about getting the best sports facilities, SVNIT is a good college. But for sports facilities, I would recommend you try for MNIT Jaipur.
