ALL ABOUT SVNIT

Likes

There is a lot of greeenery around. Cute little puppies and peacocks are found in almost many part of campus.
There are different buildings for each department and all are very near so there is no rush in between lectures.
The location of institution is very nice it is very near to beach, local market, and food courts.

Dislikes

Infrastructure here is very old. It needs renovation and proper improvement
There is no auditorium for big events to happen. Everything takes place in ground.
Canteen food is cheap but not good and also its more south indian .

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for on campus placements from 3rd year itself they can go through various rounds and they can get internships and ppo's too.Though employment is very less it was around 32% overall for all branches and courses and 56%for cse.Highest package this year was around 52 laks and avg was around 17lakhs.Around 154 companies visited college.

Facts before coming to SVNIT

Likes

Students and experienced professors and the city of Surat
Labs and Projects related works are performed very much perfectly.
College is between the city so very good connectivity no issues related to transport.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is very poor and campus area not utilised properly.
Skill oriented studying is less and marks oriented is more.
Hostel food quality is not maintained everyday

After 6th Semester students get eligible for placements. Companies like Samsung, Amazon, Infosys, Mercedes, Asian Paints, TCS, etc. come for placement offers. Highest in mechanical engineering is 20 lacs per annum package. My plans are to study masters after bachelors. More than 50% students get placed.

Reality of SVNIT

Likes

The things is liked includes the lush green campus as it is very huge
Also it is located in the main city with having a very good connectivity
The fests taking place are also very good with technical fest like mindbend

Dislikes

I don’t like the old infrastructure of the college as some buildings are very old
Conditions of ground and sports facilities is also not very good
Students here are divided amongst states thus politics on name of states is very bad

Overall decent placement happens at our college for good placement you need to go off campus but yes many good companies come to our college and for my branch highest is 20lakhs and average is 9 lakhs Almost 80 percent from mech gets placed I want to do cat so probably i won't seat for placemnets

Real Review of SVNIT from Real Person

Likes

Our college is the one of the top NIT and is very reputated
Their is good research facilities and top notch sports facilities
Professors are good and highly educated and some have 150 patent

Dislikes

Infrastructure is old...instead their is renovation started
It feels very humid here in summers instead of 6000 trees are here...
Mess food is not very bad of first year.

Placement Experience:

The placements are pretty good the average package of CS is 15 lakhs per annum and in my department the highest is 21 lakh as per 2024 till now and average is somewhere around 10 to 11 lach per anum..

SVNIT; an overview

Likes

the campus environment and greenery is something that i liked the most. the campus is huge and people travel toh places with the help of cycles

Dislikes

activa and two wheeler vehicles are not allowed for students so students have to travel either by walking or through bicycle

Placement Experience:

the average campus placement is 900000 rupees this year placement are ranged in both core and non core branches placements start from the beginning of the year only and before the end of the 4th year for students the companies stop coming

My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.

For sports enthusiasts, SVNIT is not the right choice. The condition of sports facilities at our college is not good. The sports grounds are not in a good shape. The cricket/football ground becomes a grassland from July to December.

The indoor badminton courts, which are two in number, are immensely insufficient to cater to around 4000 students. Each one has to wait a long time for their turn, and is given around 10 minutes to play the sport. Such a huge number of students can not access the badminton courts for sufficient durations. MMNCT is the best sports event of the year. It is an inter-year cricket tournament that takes place at night. The gym is well designed and has all the modern equipment.

Many classes are boring. But a lot of the professors, especially in the Civil department, teach really well. The marking system is very transparent, and after 15-30 days post the exams, answer sheets are made available for students to have a look. The classrooms are also very school-like in appearance. The rules are lenient, and most teachers are satisfied with a 60% student attendance.

The location is quite good, and malls, theaters, etc. are easily accessible. The campus is located in a posh area of Surat. Places like Mumbai, Daman, etc. are easily accessible for getaways. The placements are top notch, the clubs are plenty and quite decent. The mess food is quite good as well.

Unless you are very serious about getting the best sports facilities, SVNIT is a good college. But for sports facilities, I would recommend you try for MNIT Jaipur.
