NIT Delhi Ph.D Electrical And Electronics Engineering: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

The Institute offers Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) degree programs under the following disciplines-

NIT Delhi Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates with a Master's degree or a Master’s degree by Research in Engineering / Technology disciplines with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or CGPA of 6.5/10 for Open / OBC category, and 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0 for SC/ST candidates, in UG and in PG.
• Candidates appearing in their final exams are also eligible to apply provided they have to submit their provisional mark sheet with no backlog papers.
• The candidates need to appear for the Research Entrance Exam, & Interview conducted by the institute.

NIT Delhi Ph.D. Selection Criteria

• The admission to the Ph.D. program usually happens two times in a year (December & July), depending upon the vacancy in the department.
• The selection procedure consists of three stages, Screening of the application, Entrance Test, and Interview.
• The screening will be conducted by the screening committee who will verify the eligibility of the candidate. 
• The shortlisted applicants must appear for the entrance test followed by an interview. A candidate securing at least 40% marks in the Entrance test shall be declared qualified in the test. 
• At the time of the interview, candidates may be asked to discuss their research interest/area in the form of a presentation.
• Preference is given to candidates with relevant work experience, project work & thesis and performance in the interview.

How to Apply for Ph.D.?

• Visit the institute website, look for the research vacancies (if any), and read the admission details carefully.
• The registration process for admission to the PhD isn’t conducted online. The candidate is required to register (in person) on the scheduled dates of registration.
• The applicant is required to fill the registration form and submit it to the DPGC convener.
• The screening committee will verify the eligibility of the candidate.
• If eligible, the candidates need to appear for the Entrance exam, followed by an Interview.

• Provisional Seat Allotment Letter provided by the institute (For PhD)
• Entrance Exam Score Card.
• Printout of the registration form, locked choices (For B.Tech & M.Tech)
• Original Admission Letter Verification Certificate (Original Counselling) 
• Four Passport size Colored 
• Class X & XII mark sheets and certificates
• Original Grade/marksheet of qualifying examination for all semesters (For M.Tech & PhD)
• Original course completion certificate from head of the university/ Institute in case result is awaited.
• Photo ID proof as per Govt. of India norms, especially Aadhaar Card
