Scholarship: this college have really great facility of scholarships for needy people.
Faculty to student ratio is great and small strength class provide a great personalized experience and teaching to students .
The college fest is a perfect great opportunity to learn and grow.

Dislikes

I think that they lag in their way of teaching.
Hostel condition especially for the first year hostel which is provided that is shivalik hostel is worst
Staff is not so good. they take extra classes and non of the things they explain are clear

Might some people say pec is not good but it’s not bad too

Likes

Pec is one of the most oldest and reputed engineering college in India
The faculty are really qualified with mix of experience
Pec has a good placement packages especially it Cse and ECE

Dislikes

Girls to boys ratio it’s just 1 ratio 5 it should be improved
The hostel life is not good the hostel should be good
The building and the classes are really small

Pec is great college

Likes

Placement here are kinda great.Companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Nvidia, GeForce,etc come here to recruit students
Faculty are very good don't bother student about the attendance. Also qualified from various NITs IIT and foreign university

Dislikes

Campus area is to small. There is only one gym in the whole campus which was under facilitated with equipments.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is based on the old curriculum. there are a various subject like ed does not help in our engineering.Exam are taken weekly which are easy to clear.Facilities also teacher extra or ongoing placement that matches with our generation

Likes

Campus is quite good and college life is also decent
Academic is quite decent also there are equipped labs
There is home state quto which allows student to get good branch with low rank

Dislikes

Girls quto is not present in college so there is poor gender ratio
Hostel are not that good poor quality of washroom
Maximum student are from panjab and haryana

Placement Experience:

In our college placement is quite decent even mechanical and civil branch students also get's placement in consulting first and tech placement is quite good last year avg placement for cse was more than 20 lakhs

Beyond of NIT's

Likes

I love the campus and its infrastructure
Seniors are very good at here and they help you when you are in problem
And lastly i love my hostel room ,thats the most comfortable place

Dislikes

Some professor are rude here, as 75 perecent attendance mendatory

After 5th Semester we are eligible to sit in interview, as we can avail 6 months intership during 6th Semester and during that time period we don't have to take class,companies like amazon ,texas, jp morgan, goldman ,these are the best companies that visit here and provide top packages

Pec is very different from any normal government engineering college

Likes

Placements are comparable to many top nits
Placements are kinda nice as compared to the rank you can get here with
Peers are really great, helpful and motivating

Dislikes

Campus area is big only on papers, in reality most of it is unused area
Infrastructure is really poor, building are old and a lot of them don't even have acs

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being a first student I can't comment much about the course curriculum as I have not explored the real VLSI curriculum, as in first year we all have same subjects. But the curriculum seems decent and compared to iits and nits it is similar.

Campus Life and placement is very good. I get the opportunity to make good friend.i get the opportunity to enroll in various clubs like nss,Ieee,voyagers that help in my personality development and upskilling as much I can.

Dislikes

The campus is small as compared to nis and iits .the study of first year is on the old curriculum that is boring and sometimes of no use .Thats was the thing I don't like about the pec

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is very old. Faculty was teaching us the old stuff that's does not relate with the ongoing curriculum or technology used around us. And sometimes there are also the courses which are not used for the engineering field for example there is a subject ed which was not essential for the electronics or CSE students.

The pec

Likes

The college is very old around 100 years and has a great aluminai network
The college is in the chandigarh city itself and has a good location not even great but a very good
College’s socity and clubs are top notch and i can see that they are best from all nits

Dislikes

PEC is govt own college so there is a large amount of corruption that makes all works not good.
The govt closed at 10 in the night i think that college should be all night open
At some point i find that the fee is too high for the hostels

Placement Experience:

In the college there is great oppertunities are there for placement and college provides intership in third year. The placement in civil is bad it is about 25% and if you look from circital branch then it is about 13lakh average

PEC life in a nutshell

Likes

Fellow students: people around here are really helping and into different things.
Aspirations people: people here are into more of study, sports or career related things unlike most pvt colleges
Freedom: for boys, u can go out anytime(unofficially) and u can even return from main gate at even 12 in midnight, guards generally don't say anything

Dislikes

Infrastructure: its dead, very less and old infrastructure as compared ro iits and other clgs.
A lot of people do smoke and drink but they will never bother u and are never doing it in public and don't force it on anybody.

I am in first year and first year is same for all branches, so I don't know a lot about electrical engineering specifically. But of what I have heard from seniors, electrical branch is more difficult, and in pec u get not that many core companies. While u get a lot of finance, IT, coding etc companies.

Entire Pec College Review

Likes

I love the nature in the college. it's full of trees
I love the architecture too .it gives quite an old feeling
I love the classrooms too which are quite good

Dislikes

I didn't like the Hostels very much..They should be more clean
The mess food is good but it's kinda expensive
The washrooms in the hostel too are not good

The courage curriculum is quite good sometimes it feels a bit heavy in terms of portion when compared it to the syallabus that we are having in few subjects and the labs shouldn be properly equipped as well

Punjab Engineering college complete review

Likes

There are no restrictions on the college campus and most of the campus is clean always.
There are 3 different big field for football, cricket and Athletics. There are also indoor gym and badminton hall.
There is a small pec market inside the campus which works as canteen.

Dislikes

Due to no female reservation, the gender ratio is bad. My class has 1:11 girls:boys ratio
Most of the student dont take the club activites seriously
There is a division between the hostel student and the local day scholars

Placement Experience:

The placements are okay okay. Not very bad but not that great too. This year 40% are students of the 25 batch are placed with highest package of 52LPA. The average sallary is about 16LPA and the placements of lower branchers like Metta and production are also good with highest packagae of 20LPA each
