The faculty members of our department are very helpful and all are experienced teachers and their teaching methods are also good.
The campus of the university is very beautiful and calm.
Hostel facilities are also very good, the hostel infrastructures are very good and the hygiene is also well maintained in the hostels .

Dislikes

The over stress because of the exam pattern
Even though the university excells in academic excellence but the pressure is too much high. More extra curricular activities may nitiated.
Not much funded nternships are provided by the University or departments.

I like my campus very much, the people there are very helpful and friendly. Everyone around us are always ready with a helping hand to guide us
Negative aspects i'd say it's the food in the messes of the hostel
The girl students admitted are more than the boy students admitted

hectic schedule and Low placment

Likes

Campus is very good , filled many natural beauty
Infrastructure is also good with neat and clean environment
The weather here in Assam tezpur is also good compare to North India but in summer due to humidity too much sweat comes

Dislikes

Very hectic schedule, we will not get proper time for other activities as there are classes from 9 am to 5:30 pm
The placement and internship here is also bad
There is language barrier too for the non Assamese students

Placement Experience:

placement is not good here for cse students you have to go for off campus placement , this year 2024 the highest package for cse was 12 lpa and maximum recruitment was from tcs which is mass hiring at low packages

How tezpur University looks like

Likes

The university provides us with various clubs we can join and it is very much active during fests and competitions and everything.
There's University buses going throught the town every now and then which saves us a lot of money actually.
Professors give us personal attention and are always there to support our ideas. Also, regarding future education, the university supports us and even the HOD helps us regarding entrances and gate and stuffs.

Dislikes

Placement is not very good. It is decent. But we are sure there will be lots of improvement.
Hostel food is not very good everywhere. But there are cafes and restaurants just outside the campus and in the campus but it depends a lot of money.

Placement Experience:

There are placement opportunities which are decent but I would suggest you go for off campus placements. Off campus placements will offer you a good salary as compared to on campus placements. But if your cgpa is nice then you'll land into a decent placement.

MY LIFE AND EXPERIENCE IN TEZPUR UNIVERSITY

Likes

The university environment for learning and it brings you closer to nature.
The faculty member are very active here and they advice you to do things for the better in your respective subjects
We have been provided with mentors with group of 7 or 8 members and the mentor will provide necessary information about how to write and concentrate on your subjects

Dislikes

Here in the library, sometimes i do not find books that i want being a central library, the authority should look into it.
Sometimes they don't listen to the demands of the student.

The curriculum influenced me to choose this course because it gives more opportunities for art and culture and a better understanding of the literature of the world. The teaching methods are the best here. The exam timing is tight so I have no problem.

Tezpur university: course and the campus

Likes

The university is the only animal cruelty free zone in the entire north east india.
Campus of TU is really very good and you are going to interact with lots of different students from all over india as well as some international students
Teaching methods used by the department and centre are really good.

Dislikes

Some of the buildings does not have a air conditioned room so it becomes a little hot in the summers.
The course I beleive becomes a little hectic with exams every month as well as with seminars and presentations.
Placement services are provided by the university but for most of the students they will prefer an off campus placement

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was already a lot interested in gender studies so the course of women studies attracted me a lot and I chose this course. The curriculum and the syllabus is very well prepared with the historical sociological aspects and a all round aspect to maintain the worldview of that particular course. The examination level is a bit difficult because of the hectic schedule but once we adjust its not something that is so hard to acquire.

The campus life and social life here in this university is amazing …you will get exposure to a lot of things
The faculties and teaching staff are highly qualified and supportive. They are of very friendly nature and will prove mentorship to you at all step
The infrastructure is really good. We have well equipped labs and classrooms.

The placement scenario is not much impressive over here…number of companies visiting here are quite less as compared to other colleges.

The life of an university student

The aspects of the college that I appreciated and those I felt needed improvement were , I think that our university playing field should maintain properly
In the campus we meet many other people from various places so we know different things about other places

One of my friends attended Tezpur University. His experience with the university has not been good. Here are some of the things that she shared with me.

The administration there is headed by only one person and the VC is not cooperative.
You will get in trouble if any of your batch mates get involved in any misbehavior.
Attending classes there is very important and otherwise, you may not be allowed to do your internships.
The library is inadequate. The wifi facility on campus is also not that good.
The placement record of the institute is average. The average CTC offered at the recent placement drive was 3.5 LPA.

So, if you have other better options go for it.

What is your review of mechanical engineering department, Tezpur University?

One of my friends studied Mechanical at Tezpur University. Let me share his experiences and knowledge about the college. He, being a student there, will know the intricacies of the college and how they function.

Faculty: The mechanical department hosts a really good faculty. Most of them are good at teaching and all of them have a great research-oriented mindset.
Projects: About 80% of the projects are based on numerical simulations. These include optimization, analysis, modeling, developing CFD solvers, Comsol modeling and the rest are mainly experimental.
Specialization: The department mainly started its M.Tech course in 2013 with a specialization in Applied mechanics. The Thermal and Fluid Engineering specialization began in 2016 and from 2018 onwards, another specialization in Machine Design was also started. The department is definitely growing with time.

Placement:
