My 4 years in Tezpur University

Dislikes

I disliked some professor, who were biased upon race, and use to make subtle remarks.

Faculty:

When I enrolled here, all of the students irrelevant of their branch were studying the same courses for a year. The subjects were just really a revision of how our fundamentals were strong in higher secondary education. The professors were very helpful and guided us in every way possible, except one subject, i.e. Basic Electrical Engineering, the professor literally failed almost half the batch, 250 students were failed in his subject. It's not that we didn't understand the subject, it's just that we didn't understand his teachings. Excluding that fact, it was very smooth and there was nothing extremely hard. There are 4 exams held per semester, First Unit Test, Mid Sem, Second Unit Test, End Sem. A total of 100 marks : 10+30+10+50. The faculty-student ratio is 15:1

Good and qualified teachers with better connections

Faculty to students ratio is 1:17. It is quite good as there are lots of students in a class so providing so many teachers is not so cup of tea. Still they are trying to make it better and better each time.

Tezpur University review

The faculty-to-student ratio is average, nor so high neither too low. The faculties are approachable for the students but for academic and non academic doubts. There are faculties like PKG sir , Hemanta Medhi sir , Somnath Paul Sir who are liked by me for there good behaviour and funny nature. The for me is Hemanta Medhi sir I don't like the HOD of my department because of his attitude. There are 2 sessionol tests and 2 exams(mid and end sem) in one semester. The exams are neither too easy nor too tough, are moderate. At an average, only 3-4 students fail in some subjects and 1 or 2 fail in whole exam. The course curriculum is relevant.

Must Go for Tezpur university

All the faculties are very good.They are very much sinciere and dedicated. Tezpur univerity uses a relative grading system and continuous assessment for courses. Continuous assessnent includes class test, assignments, seminers.

Lastly , the faculties and staff are very friendly and ready to help and support us.

The curriculum is too hectic and we get less time for study , plus the faculties are a bit strict.

The faculties are pretty good and knowledgeable. However they may be quite strict at times depending on the student. Coming to the exams , each semester has four exams per subject. There are a total of 8 semesters. TWO SESSIONAL TESTS of 25 marks , mid sem of 40 marks and end sem is of 60 marks. The marking system is relative.

I am as honest as i can

The teachers are so soo good, some of are really don't know how to teach.

Male teachers are more than female, some of the faculty members are good but some of them are really don't know how to teach. Exam are happened so frequently, and also the marking system is so strict. Due to over classes we can't focus on other activities.

A brief description about Tezpur University

Some teachers are too good at everything teaching and all but some teachers are too baised towards marks

Some teachers are too bad at teaching not able to learn what they teach in class there voices are not clear.

As to talk about faculty-to-student ratio...Most of the faculties are very good and well understanding and makes us understand everything well... The faculty that I liked the most is Dr Tribikram Pradhan sir and Dr Upatink ma'am as both the teacher are well understanding and makes everything clear about the topic that is discussed I can understand very quickly everything they teaches...both of the teachers clears all the concepts used in the topic. Some faculties are there whom I don't like at all I am not able to mentioned the names...as they keep things that happened in past in mind and gives the grade accordingly as well as some PhD scholars are also very rude as scholars gets to take lab classes and lab final exams they give grade accordingly if some issue has taken place with them with the students . The students that they don't like at all gives the lowest grades and all ...this kind of situation should be resolved as many good students grades can be in problem because of personal issues of some schlors or professors. There are a total of 4 exams per semester, firstly we have 1st sessional exam followed by mid term exam then 2nd sessional exam and lastly end term examination and other things like assignments, practical's etc..and they give us assignments every week for maximum of the subjects assignments are given... It isn't so hard to clear all the exams if every concept is clear then one can easily pass in the exams with a good grade as there is relative grading... All the provided course are good and provide a know about how to deal with real world scenarios...

The adventure of Tezpur University

Total faculty 7-8 and total in my department may be 100-150 and the relation between student and faculties is very good. We can share any things without any hesitation and the faculty is very helpful in overall. So I like my faculty member Joya Chakrabarti mam she's a professor of theories of communication. I like every faculty. So this time running end term exam only 1 paper done 5 paper is not done.
