A Knowledgeable and Beautiful Campus Life.

Likes

The faculties are highly educated and very much student friendly. Sometimes the doubt sessions were held by the professors
The campus is so much green and very attractive environment. The hostels are very good for staying and all the necessities are provided in the hostel.
The placement cell works so hard to provide job opportunities to the students after and during the course.

Dislikes

Sometimes there was electricity problems and water problems.
Scoring in the exams is very tough as the faculties check the paper to hard.
Sometimes the fees structure were not student friendly.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell work hard sometimes. The students have to grab opportunities here as the placement cell provides job vacancies time to time and students can grab it. After completing the course you can get thousands of job.

Genuine review of aau

Likes

The rules and regulations of the university is quite good and strict
The facilities provided is quite good like drinking water air cinditioned classrooms library auditorium etc

Dislikes

The teachers sometimes only speak the local language even after telling them that some of the students don't understand the language

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is an agricultural course so we have lots of practical works to do and also because of this practical works we are exposed to new things and we not inly learn about agriculture we have extension education environmental education and many more included in our course

A brief glimpse for Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat , Assam

Likes

The faculty here is really great! They are really concerned for our career prospects.
The campus! The green campus here is really pleasing and was the first thing i liked when I entered the university for counselling.
The library here is really good. You can read various kinds of books and also competitive exam books to boost your knowledge.

Dislikes

The hostels here are not up to date. Water facilities sometimes disrupts, electricity is not 24x7

Placement Experience:

Yes our students get placements directly from our campus. Companies like Amul, Federal Bank, Union bank of India, has come to our campus for direct placement. As per NIRF 2024, 87 students got placed from UG courses and 97 from PG courses. Starting salary from 66,000 to 70,000 in various jobs. My plan is to study masters and for that we have to prepare for JRF.

Very good campus and environment

Likes

It has a beautiful campus with lots of greenery
Faculty are highly qualified and very responsive
Co curricular activities are abundant here

Dislikes

Water problem as there is more iron in the ester
Market is far from the college reach is a problem
No other problem is there in the university

I chose this course because it was a unique course. I got to learn something different. Each batch has a few students which helps each and every student to connect with the teachers and learn better. It was difficult at first for many of us to pass cause this entire term exam thing was new to us. We had to study everything in very less time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Currently, the College of Horticulture is functioning within the University campus. But most likely to shift to Nalbari which is 50km away from Guwahati. There are 30 seats in each batch. The Teachers are good and helpful. Semester-wise exams are conducted and are average in terms of difficulty. Most students pass with good marks.

One of the best Universities in Assam with good infrastructure and ample placement.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester onwards students are eligible for placement in different agricultural companies including the banking sector also. Different banks like PNB, ICICI, SBI, HDFC, etc offers frequent placement options. The average package is around 3.5 lakhs per annum after graduation. But you can opt for a Master's degree for better placement options.

Placement Experience:

Students pursuing this degree usually prefer to go for higher studies. And I plan to go for the same. But there are scopes of getting yourself placed in the State Seri-cultural Department and also in the Central with time and experience.

Remarks:

I chose this college because based on my marks, I could get a seat here for the course of my choice. Seats in this college as well as university are very limited and competition is high as well. So once alloted, I took admission without a second thought.
