Remarks

Sericulture Industry in India needs special attention and the scope. Choosing to do BSc (Hons) in Sericulture was a life changing decision. The college was established in 2014. The college is yet to receive accreditation, hence the wide scopes are now limited. But the process is on the way, and once the accreditation is received, faculty and the students. The Admission process in AAU is merit based, the PCB percentage of 12th. It usually takes place during the month of June-July. The application is online, and students are called for counseling based on their scores. The seats of the different colleges under the University gets filled on the basis of the merit. I chose Sericulture because I was positive that I will be given a chance to contribute in this sector and I will be having a huge number of scopes. www.aau.ac.in is the official website of the University where the student can find all the information regarding the colleges and applications.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because of the increasing scope of the sector as it provides a base to know about the situation of the sector in the country. The faculty student ratio is around 10:27 per batch. And it is quite good. The teaching methods are improved although, some more improvements can take place with time. The term exams are timely and easy to score given a consistent amount of efforts in studying.

Placement Experience

3.5

Students pursuing this degree usually prefer to go for higher studies. And I plan to go for the same. But there are scopes of getting yourself placed in the State Seri-cultural Department and also in the Central with time and experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for the institution along with hostel facilities for the state students is 7150. For the students outside state, with varying quotas have different fee structure which are provided in the website. The state students are awarded a state merit scholarship after every semester based on their scores and eligibility. The Job scope after pursuing this degree is wide. Jobs in the state Seri-cultural department may be taken up.

Campus Life

5

The annual university fest is "Aventine" and it is huge. It provides a platform to all the students, also outsiders to showcase their talents in various events. The annual college week that takes place in the university includes competitions amongst hostels and includes events of sports, cultural, academics and such. Every alternate year, the Inter College Meet takes place between all the colleges of the university. The library provides all the latest and up to fate journals and publications, along with WIFI and computer facilities.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The rooms of the hostel are large and accommodates two or three students given which hostel one is allotted. The food quality is average hostel-like. The hostels are allotted during the counseling and are quiet affordable.

The new syllabus under new education policy is better which focuses on practicality.but the old one in which we are enrolled is more focused on theoretical aspects rather than practicality. Students start studying before 2 days of exam and forgot everything after exams ...its like parrot learning , which do not teach anything in reality .
