Course Curriculum Overview

Currently, the College of Horticulture is functioning within the University campus. But most likely to shift to Nalbari which is 50km away from Guwahati. There are 30 seats in each batch. The Teachers are good and helpful. Semester-wise exams are conducted and are average in terms of difficulty. Most students pass with good marks.

Internships Opportunities

During the 8th semester, the students are offered RAWEP( Rural Awareness Work Experience Program) in which the students are made to work with farmers at different research stations of the university. The students get a certain amount of stipend.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for each semester is Rs.9240 for Hostellers which may vary in some semester. Students from Assam can get a Merit scholarship from the university if they get above 7GPA students from another state can apply for various scholarships provided by the gov. Through NSP

Campus Life

The Campus is really big and filled with greenery. The campus is equipped with a big football ground, swimming pool, basketball court, and gym. Every year there is an annual college week and inter-college meet at the university. And other various competitions are held occasionally.

Hostel Facilities

You can opt for a hostel during admission. It is better to stay in a hostel to get the full benefits. The Hostel infrastructure is good. The rooms are shared by 2 students. The food is average. We pay Rs.1800 monthly for Mess. You may choose to exclude

Hostel Fee: INR 1500 per year

Interview Experience

After Getting selection. There will be a counseling program to allocate students to different colleges depending on the marks they score on the entrance test. Various documents are mandatory for the counseling without which you may be not allowed to get admission

Placement Experience:

As I m just in 1st year I have little idea ..the highest package is 12lpa and one thing is 100% intership is there ... amul, punjab national bank , federal Bank,seed companies and many more visits for on campus placement avg may be 3-4 if here is no placement in ug ..many of us will do msc or prepare for competitive exam like nabard and Ado .. placement start form 4th year .. overall 70-80% placement ratio

Course Curriculum Overview:

The new syllabus under new education policy is better which focuses on practicality.but the old one in which we are enrolled is more focused on theoretical aspects rather than practicality. Students start studying before 2 days of exam and forgot everything after exams ...its like parrot learning , which do not teach anything in reality .
