It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Entrance Preview:

I took AIEEE All India Engineering Entrance Examination. I dont remember the exact score had an All India rank of 9000 and state rank of 131 and based on selection criteria and all I got this college in my listing as i had opted for it. Moreover NIT Rourkela is in my very own state of Odisha and ranks the second among the NITs with the second largest campus in the country in terms of area after IIT Kharagpur. ABP News rewarded NIT rourkela with Outstanding Engineering Institute (East) and Best Government Engineering College.

NIT ROURKELA

Remarks:

Every thing till now i said is good about my college but the bad thing is we have a very strict and descipline college life. We are bound to attend all the classes and we could not bunk our lectures like other engineering student of different colleges.

Of course every such institutions have some loopholes in the management but that gets hidden and clouded by the good work done by the management seriously this management only has taken the standards of this college to this height love this college and will always proud to be a part of it really miss those college days now.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
