It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Friends I made here are very good to hang out with
The library has wide access to books and I liked them
The faculty are very easy to talk with and help me very much

Dislikes

Mess food is good but the menu is Same for every week and it's boring
My hostel room is for a single person but they allocate it for 2 people
Placement offers are not many for our branch

I believed there was a good future for the EE which inspired me to apply for this course.When Our faculty focuses on subject they would also teach us along with the real time benefits.Difficulty of the exam varies with corresponding subject and respective faculty with mid sem and end sem exams at 2months

The Perfect One

Likes

Night life is the best here. You can hang out with anyone anywhere.
There are security guards all over. So you dont feel scared to move anywhere anytime in the campus because they are always there to help you if you need it.
Seniors are way too friendly without any fear of ragging. They serve as close brothers and sisters who can guide you through all your ups and downs. You can ask every type of doubts to them and they are there to help you with real life experiences.

Dislikes

The food served in the mess alongwith the canteens is definitely not up to the mark.
Everyone have to use bicycles in the campus and access to scooties is not allowed unless they are localites.
There are no sitting places along the roads so that if people get tired they can wait there.

Placement Experience:

Talking about this, various branches offer various packages to the students depending on the skills that the student possess. Some students may have a good cgpa that can boosts their resumies and may help to get better job opportunities wherein the packages are considered as good.

The student environment is too good, you get to learn many things daily, over the years the club culture here has been the best like you'll get atleast 2-3 clubs with same interest that keeps the students competitive in fields other than academic too
The nature is too good sunrise and sunset are just the calming things
Professors are too approachable and friendly

Dislikes

The grading is system is not like other college it can be improved le
Too fast changing climate, you never know what will happen
Transport or connection problem to railway station and bustand

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is good too, but there has been a decline in the placement this year the average being 12 lpa is a little bit lower than tha last year that had an average of 13.5 lpa, so in case of placement there has been a decline

The most likeful thing that I like that is the campus and the environment of this campus .
The second thing that I like the faculty behaviour and the management system that is very oriented to the welfare of the students
The third thing that I feels that is important for any college like all the clouds are involving all the students for doing their best performance

Dislikes

To system is very good and there is nothing to be disliked okay.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is electrical branch and I am satisfied with this branch because I have lots of thing to explore in this branch like the circuit problem and all the things that are helping my practical life in the core fields and my curriculum is very good and they provide me practical classes that will help me in future. the practical curriculum of this college is very good and that will help us in our future in the core fields like many electronic business startups that are involved from this college and examination and tests are very relevant to the course and it depends on the student that the exam is difficult or not.

My overall experience is very good because there is numerous things to do.
Infrastructure is good and hostels are also well equipped.
The campus is full of greenery which feels good literally.

Dislikes

There is an issue of connectivity to the city for some students.
Food quality and the menu may be not so good for some students with different students.
The weather conditions may be terrible for some students coming from different terrains.

Placement Experience:

From the 6th or 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Companies such as Microsoft, Mercedes benz , TCS , Vedanta , goldman sachs , L&T and a numerous companies which offer almost 900-1000. The highest package offered is 86lakhs in CS branch on campus and the average package of college is 16lakhs. Almost 96%-97% of students get placed. After getting the degree I want to persue ny career in VLSI design.

good environment of the campus.so many trees are there in the campus.
very good quality students come in the campus and very motivating environment is there
teachers are very good and intelligent in the campus.

Dislikes

temperature in summers is not as good as to stay outdoors in the campus.
there are so much dogs in the campus area
sometimes there is so much stress is there during exam times

Placement Experience:

placements and internship opportunies are very good in our college. internships starts in third year and placements in fourth year. many companies visit our campus like google, amazon,microsoft,texas instruments,qualcomm,etc. average package of electrical engineering is about 18lpa.

NIT ROURKELA- A heaven with some cons

It has the one the largest campus of the country. Campus is very beautiful and cleanlinees is strictly maintained
Faculties are good and very much qualified. Job opportunities in much course are very widespread. Placements are very good.
College fests are one of the best things of this college. Infrastructure of buidlings is also very good.

Dislikes

Class schedule is very tight, and number of class per week should be reduced.
Faculty's main motive is to complete the course. They don't care whether every student is understanding or not.
Recently mess fee was increased by 12000 rupees. Students protested against this decision, but college didn't listen to them.

Placement Experience:

Placements of my college are very good. Students become eligilbe for placements after 3rd year. Microsoft, intel, amazon, oracle, barclays and many other companies visited and made many offers. Amazon took 12 students with 50 lpa package. Mircosoft took 4 students with 30 lpa package.Oracle provided highest package of 27lpa and average 13 lpa. Placemets percentage was 95% last year. I am planning to get a job in software field after gutting the degree.

Placements arr from 50+ top companies.. Interviewing the students by HR of the companies then group discussion presentation everything is perfect. Highest package is 15-20LPA for BTech students and For MBA 6-7LPA and MCA 10-15LPA

Campus life, greenary, atmosphere, stress free environment

Dislikes

Being a South Indian, should adjust with the food
No summer and winter holidays for masters students
No Pongal holidays will be given for South Indians

Placement Experience:

Being one of the top tier colleges in India, NIT Rourkela is having decent placement record from many years. Coming to my batch and our seniors, almost everyone got placed with a decent packages. I got placed into micron with 20lpa package even in this hard recession times. Opportunities are more than enough for the students and it's all about students efforts and hardwork to get placed in a good company. As per my batch 60lpa is the highest and 5.6lpa being the lowest package till date. Top companies like Google, Microsoft, AWS, Amazon, Texas Instruments, Oracle, Micron, do visit our campus and many more. Students who are having a decent CGPA of 6 or more will be eligible to most of the companies. Some companies even allow students having backlogs and CGPA less than 5. To being in the safer side, it's recommended to have a CGPA of 7 which makes eligibility for 90% of the companies.

campus life of NIT rourkela is going to be my on off best time
infrastructure of the college is also nice with lots of tree inside the college
placement is also really very good and the number of company visited is also high

The student can get their offer in the 3rd semester of M. Tech and the placements for M.Tech are good as compared with other NIT's the average package for M. Tech is around 10 lakh and for B. tech the placements are getting good and the average package for B.Tech is around 15 lakh the amount is going to vary according to the year as in present the condition of the market is not good. the companies visited are Qualcomm, tera data, c-dot, john-deere , TCS, Accenture, etc.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
