Teesside University Rankings 2026: Global, National & Subject-wise Trends

• Teaching/research. I have been teaching at colleges/universities since 2023. I use jobs.ac.uk

• I live in London, not near the university

• There are only 10 percent of students who secured a job after completing graduation. The average salary in my field of Mechanical engineering is 45000 per year. Students usually find jobs using LinkedIn and indeed where you can see job postings available.
• Amazon UK is one of the leading job providers. There are some of my some fridends who are working in Marelli automotive, Tata Steel, and York Handmade Bricks Ltd.

• I find accommodation online. There were some groups on facebook which i joined when I was coming here. I used to pay 200 per month, and the house was semi-furnished. It was not hard to secure accommodation. A few agencies are also available here that help in finding accommodation. I always recommend studends that use online platforms to secure accommodation, which is the easiest and best way.

• They say there are about 80% students who secure a job through their placements, and some of them get a job outside by themselves. The networking opportunities, you have to grab yourself; online job portals are also there where you can find a job.
• One of my friends got a job within a day of trying, and some of them didn't get any, even after 6 months.

• I found the accommodation online from a famous site known as University Living.
• The monthly rent was 440 pounds, and it included everything from wifi to electricity. Everything has a shared bathroom and kitchen.
• The challenge was that I had to find the accommodation from here in India, and it made me wonder which of the deals were real or if they were scams, and if the rooms were actually any good.
• If you are new, try to book the university accommodation or try trusted sites only, and if you know someone there, it would be better to ask them to look for a house, as they can actually find the houses cheaper than trusted sites and university accommodation. But don't try to contact random people and book rooms through them. You can actually use official university WhatsApp groups to find the rooms as well, but don't trust them too much; do your own homework and research.

• my course included advanced practice, which is an internship. Either student can find themselves with some help or they do a project under the professor. Maximum hours were 20 per week. and wages were around 8 to 11 based on the job.
• There were some on-campus jobs as well that were provided by the university. But I did not know that and did not get it either. It was difficult to get the part-time job because it was a small town and there was very limited public transport to travel to nearby towns. I did manage to secure the job with the help of my friend.
• To get the job, students usually need one bank account for the salary, a national insurance number, proof of address, and 20 hours and full-time work time hours provided by the university. That is a letter that states that during the term time students are allowed to do 20 hours part time and during vacation students can do full-time jobs.
• My experience was very bad because I could not secure the job after my course completion because my result did not arrive on time and my visa expired so I had a very difficult time.

• I opt for the off-campus accommodation because, as I said earlier, the on-campus accommodations were good and provided more facilities, but they were much more expensive. I find my fellow roommate with the agent who did my admission and visa process. We manage to get the house in sharing, which was much cheaper than on-campus. However, one has to be cautious of the fraud. the person who helped us was good; he helped us to settle in our new accommodation.
• My suggestion for the future student is to check for the off-campus first and make sure you check with multiple sources that the info you have is correct. There are many Indian communities that can help with these. my accoumodation was 5 to 10 minutes walking distance. 

• There are a lot of jobs available in the market now. But the competition is now tough. You can get a full time job. But to secure one which closely align with your interest takes time
• The average salary is £34000 and it depends on the company. Some companies are willing to provide more
• The most useful platform is LinkedIn. You can also search jobs on the company website
• Most of my batchmates are placed now
• Amazon is one of the top companies that hire graduates.

• I found the accommodation through my friend. You can find some from online markets as well
• The monthly rent at that time was only £100 only and it is not the case now. It was excluding bills
• I didn't face any challenge because my friend had secured an accommodation through his friend. Therefore it was stress-free.
• Please look for accommodations as soon as possible. The number of students has increased and it is now difficult to find one with reasonable price
• My accommodation was just 5 mins walking distance from the Uni

• As of now, none of my classmates have secured any field jobs here. Most are struggling to get the interviews; those who get the interview are rejected because of the Visa.
• The average salary range for my course is around 30000 GBP to 120k GBP annually. That may vary based on the position and years of experience. Companies like Deloitte, IBM, Accenture, HSBC etc.

• I already had my friends here at Teesside University, so finding the accommodation wasn't that difficult for me. I stayed in a shared, rented 4 BHK apartment. There are student accommodations available that are provided by the university as well. But they are very costly. The accommodation I stayed in was a 10-minute walk from the University. The rent was bit cheaper for me as it was a shared apartment

• Jobs are really difficult as most of the companies require citizenship but you have to find a lot by applying in different sectors to secure a placement.
• Best thing is to pursue a internship and gain knowledge and experience to then apply for roles related to your training you have did. Fresh employment is bitter news here especially other citizens.
• Salary varies min from 25k pounds to 45k pounds max per year.
• Companies there ample number of companies related to your background like as im aerospace graduate i have airbus, boeing ,bae systems etc.

• Accommodation i took as my friend was already present here before me arriving. So i had sorted out my accommodation in private rental.
• Although u can find accommodation on online platforms and few whatsapp college groups when u enrol.
• Even college has accommodation near to campus providing range of prices and sharing rooms.
• My current accommodation is 15miles away from campus as i choose these option because there would be too much suffocated area around the campus due to students living there and chances of less part time job vacancies.

• Post-study placements are the worst when it comes to the UK, and it is not only the case with this particular university, but more or less everywhere the case is the same. The UK job market is only for EU nationals and UK local people. This is a bitter pill to swallow, but I have experienced this while my stay over there.So don't keep any high hopes.
• Moreover, my target was to secure a good job; I was looking for a good PhD position. Due to changing geo politics and visa immigration policies, 99% hiring partners won't prefer anyone who is applying under any visa category. Nor they would be sponsoring your visa. Just a small piece of advice: the UK job market, after their new immigration policies implemented by then PM Rishi Sunak , chances of getting a sponsorship is almost next to impossible. 
• If post study work visa is the main concern, I would suggest a better move to a non-English speaking country, like Denmark, the Netherlands or Norway, where immigration policies are a bit more liberal towards people from Asia and Africa, compared to English Counterparts. I returned back to India, applied to several reputed NITs and IITs, got selected into one of them, and I moved on in my life. 

• I booked it from Kexgill, and it was one of the best student accommodation agencies in the UK. The monthly rent was around £330. It included all the bills, such as high-speed Wi-Fi, a good heating facility, and regular maintenance. I didn't have any issues finding my accommodation because the university student association helped me secure a suitable place to stay, allowing me to focus on my work. 
• My recommendation for future students is to find accommodation either inside the campus or find accommodation from trusted agencies like Kexgill. You can also go for local landlords, but be careful to arrange for a rental agreement, otherwise, any minor dispute may result in you to thrown out on the streets and you would become homeless.

There will be lot of placement opportunities and where we have to explore and search for our relevant ones.the placement team will guide for us.

University location is good . For my course this university is better than other universities.

Post study placements depends on the engagement of the students throughout their course. Faculties keep organizing talks from industry experts. The student should be willing to built network. The university provides assistance in building your CV, mock interviews and how to connect on LinkedIn.

I am a master’s student pursuing animation with advanced practice at Teesside University, England. I choose this university because it was affordable and it was one of the few universities providing 2 years degree in 3D animation. Also the town is one of the most cheapest places in England.
