Course Curriculum

8

  • The course I studied is more practical and giving best knowledge about what the current industry is looking for. There were 3 classes scheduled in a day. Usually, university classes were 3-4 days, including a practical class.
  • The class used to start around 8:30 am. There were many indian students, around 65 percent of the whole class. We had two batches of 60 students in each.

Admission Experience

  • I have been shortlisted for all of the 4 universities based on my good academic record. I choose teeside University because it is economical and developing really fast. I am happy that I chose Teeside University. I think the most important thing to get accepted in of university is your academic record, and beyond that, it is your projects, particularly if you're applying for an MSc.
  • I chose Teeside University because the subjects that are included in the Master's program of Mechanical Engineering are really interesting and helpful in industry. The best thing about a university campus which has everything what student want.
  • There are some challenges like searching ifor nternships and jobs. The University placement cell is really good, but there is no term like campus placements.
  • I applied for 2020 January intake. There was no special factor which influence my decision to go in the January intake, but I got enough time to apply to universities after finishing my bachelor's in May 2019.
  • The admission process roughly takes around 2-3 months, which includes getting a conditional offer letter. After that, whenthe  fully satisfied condition of the offer letter is met, you will receive an unconditional offer letter and then COS

Faculty

10

  • For Practical classes, faculty to student ration was 1:10, which means for every 10 students in a group, there was 1 faculty member available. Yes, there are many good professors in my course who helped students to find an internship. There are some part-time vacancies in the university student union. Everyone in the faculty is experienced and always ready to help students. There is an appointment system on studen app which students can use to meet any professor.

Campus Life

10

  • There are around 10 buildings on campus.
  • The main building is curved. When I was studying, our classes for engineering were in the Stephenson building. It is a multistorey building inculdes coffee dispenser and a vending machine. There is a student union building which has a cafeteria, and the building is for helping students if they are having problems.
  • The university has a digital life building, which is fairly new and has all the advanced tools. It also has a gym.

Part Time Jobs

  • There are a few vacancies for a TA. Pay range is normal NI pay, and working hours are 20 per week.
  • Other on-campus jobs are in the university gym, university cafeteria, student union, and library.
  • Any student can work 20 hours per week. It's fairly difficult to secure a job on campus, according to my experience. There are lots of other opportunities available outside the campus.
  • Basically, around 12-15 per hour in part-time jobs. It is fairly difficult to find jobs in the current market situation. The usual process to apply job is use online platforms like Indeed or LinkedIn, where you can see job postings. There are some recruiting agencies here in Teesside that also help to find jobs in the nearby area. Usually, there are some assessments and interviews for part-time jobs.

Placement

6

  • There are only 10 percent of students who secured a job after completing graduation. The average salary in my field of Mechanical engineering is 45000 per year. Students usually find jobs using LinkedIn and indeed where you can see job postings available.
  • Amazon UK is one of the leading job providers. There are some of my some fridends who are working in Marelli automotive, Tata Steel, and York Handmade Bricks Ltd.

Accommodation

Off Campus
6

  • I find accommodation online. There were some groups on facebook which i joined when I was coming here. I used to pay 200 per month, and the house was semi-furnished. It was not hard to secure accommodation. A few agencies are also available here that help in finding accommodation. I always recommend studends that use online platforms to secure accommodation, which is the easiest and best way.

Exams

  • IELTS is the most acceptable exam for admission in the United Kingdom. You will need your degree transcript, degree certificate, project certificates, at least 2, your CV, cover letter, and finally, bank statements which show living expenses you have to stay in uk.
  • University sometime take interviews based on the application. I had received a call from the university for an interview, which was fairly easy and introductory.

Fees

  • I was a 2020 student of Master's in Mechanical Engineering. I have done 2 years course, which includes advanced practice. It cost me around 12000 as university fees. The rent here in Middlesbrough is cheap as comapre to other cities. 280-350 is the average rent per person.
  • The transportation facility is really good. There are some options available to pay fees in installments.

Scholarship

  • I have not received any scholarship, but there are some scholarships available on the university website.
  • Vice Chancellor is one of the best scholarships.
  • Some of my friends received that scolarship which is almost 4000 £
  • There are a few places in each course to opt for scolarship.
  • Eligibility criteria are all about academics, experience, and projects during the previous degree.
