- It was on-campus accommodation. I found it on their website only and it was cheaper than private. The monthly rent was 450 pounds. We got a personal room and shared a bathroom and kitchen. I would say for my university.
- On-campus accommodation was cheaper than private but in London it’s the opposite. So I would say it is reliable as well, but in private you might face some fraud sometimes

As a finance student, I have strategically chosen to study in the UK particularly because London being one of the best global financial centres. In my quest for a Master’s in Finance, I opted for the University of Surrey because it is reputed to be among the best business schools in Britain, in proximity to London and has great facilities. The university has a balanced experience with quality education and many extracurricular activities intertwined. It also offers several scholarships which entice students from other countries hence making it an appealing place to pursue one’s education. Moreover, this institution celebrates all major festivals including those that are important to Indian students thus providing a warm environment for them.

- The Faculty is super helpful and friendly. I have a LinkedIn post on the University of Surrey faculty. It would be good to check for aspiring MIM students. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/rainadas_hiya-everyone-im-an-international-student-activity-7215768856122851328-liFb?utm_source=combined_share_message&utm_medium=member_ios
- Ofc, love the campus. Very big and lovely campus within nature.
- Great location and perfect for international exposure. My MIM course had students from all over the world.
Dislikes
- Although I’m quite satisfied with the degree- however the MIM degree module can be basic for some people.
- The university could have helped more with finding placements. (However, this is something which is similar to other universities in the UK)

I chose it because of the great reputation of Surrey Business School. Location- near London! Practical modules like consulting and capstone. Overall experience is superb!

- Curriculum, rating in my specific field, location and nearness from London.
- The university has a strong research focus and is home to several research centers and institutes conducting cutting-edge research in areas such as artificial intelligence, health, sustainability, and digital innovation.
Dislikes
- University should provide more support and guidance in helping students (mainly international) get a job or introduce them to how to apply in order to successfully get a job.
Accommodation
There are 6 different bands (types) of accommodation on campus, which have different pricings. In the lowest 3, you have to share the washrooms with 1-3 other people. And in the top 3 bands, you get an en-suite room. In all of them, you share a kitchen with all the flatmates. You get your personal rooms in every band (privacy is prioritized). University Accommodations cost from GBP 85-200 per week.
So, I did my Masters in Information Security. The course was pretty well formed and teaching is also thorough. We mostly had hybrid classes and most of them were online, even though we had full access to the labs. Assignments given are very thought provoking and practical, so its fun performing them. Regarding the campus, it has all kinds of facilities that a student may need like restaurants, grocery stores, cafes, laundry facilities, etc. There is a lake too near which students can relax and feel at ease. The campus mainly is safe, which I think should be a priority for international students as the security is always on rounds and accessible around the clock. The location of the university is also quite convenient as it is 10 minute walk from the town center, bus station and train station. Additionally, Guildford (where the university is) is maximum 1 hour away from London by train and airport
Accommodation
There are 4-6 types of bands from which you can choose.
Good modules of study, good ranking, good location and great curriculum.
Accommodation
Lots of student accommodation ranging from budget-friendly room shares to luxury en-suites, lots of private accommodation available too off campus
Good reputation, high employment rate (Surrey has been named as ‘University of the Year for Graduate Employment’ in the Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide for 2022) Course - good range of modules
Accommodation
I lived in the campus accommodation itself and I believe that is the major factor that worked to my advantage. It served as a great experience because I got to interact and live with so many other people whom I otherwise would not have able to meet and learn from. The rooms were decent sized. The corridors and common areas were super clean. The kitchen used to get cleaned everyday (which is a very big advantage, none of the other Universities have this facility).
I laid more emphasis on the way the course was structured in this University. Exposure to the current industry tools is very important these days. Also, the University should be able to give you an opportunity to shine in your areas of interest beyond academics. Surrey was a perfect match for these criteria.
