  • The University of Stirling has 1 campus and it is called the Stirling Campus.
  • Library, GO, Swimming Pool, Gym, Study Zone, Cafe, Theatre, Food Court, Co Op for grocery, Playground, Student Union, Indoor Sport etc.
  • Graduation Ceremony and Welcome Week are the main campus ceremonies. You can also enjoy Christmas and Holi on campus.
  • There are multiple sport clubs and you can find all about them from the Student Union.
  • University of Stirling is the best sports University in the UK and therefore there are many sports activities taking place throughout out the year like Basket Ball, Football, Swimming, Running etc.
  • There are movie nights, book reading evenings, etc.

Fees

  • My tuition fee was £12000 approx. I took private accommodation in a shared flat and it cost me £265 a month, including electricity and wifi. I also received a £3000 scholarship, which brought my course fee down to £9000.
  • There were multiple payment options and the University was really flexible. I could’ve paid it semester-wise or monthly too but I opted for a one-off payment of the whole tuition fee.
  • My rent was £265 including electricity and wifi.
  • My food and grocery cost was approx £150-£200.
  • I bought a bus card for my travel between the City Centre and the University and it cost me around £36 for a month – for unlimited travel on the route mentioned. For entertainment, I used to spend £100 monthly during my initial days, which included occasional visits to movies and dining out at MacD, KFC, Greggs or Costa. Restaurants were quite costly as compared to India. A decent three-course meal would easily cost £20-£30.

  • My uni had 1 campus but it was a big one.
  • We had library, WiFi, sports facilities, medical services, activities, cafes and bars, chairs and tables for students everywhere, grocery store, rden/park, che chemical labs, computer labs, free food corner, group study tables, cinema hall, mental health support, career support, etc.
  • Major campus festivals could be Christmas, Halloween, Chinese new year, Holi and any fun activities, freshers' week and graduation parties. Each society has their own big event.
  • Societies and sports were the biggest extracurriculars; we had all kinds of sports: swimming, football, basketball, badminton, tennis and gym and everything. We had 100s of societies and I was part of south Asian society, the true crime society, and the international society. I was mainly a committee member and had fun organising events like the Diwali party and others.

Fees

  • Total tution fee was: £15,900 p.a.
  • Accommodation fee was £9,600 p.a.
  • Food and miscellaneous: £12,000 p.a.
  • The fees can be paid monthly, yearly, or semester-wise. Mine was monthly auto-debit.
  • My monthly expenses were around £2000-£2500.
  • Which included parties, rent (£800), and transportation from train, transportation from bus is free until you are 22 so that was good. Then most of my expenses were for takeout out food ordersders,

  • This college has only one campus and it is in Stirling, Scotland, close to the capital of Scotland, Edinburgh and one of the main cities of Scotland, Glasgow.
  • Facilities provided in the campus were: Library, Sports club membership, Medical, Accommodation, Grocery shopping, cafeteria.
  • Major festivals are celebrated including Indian festivals, and of course on Christmas there is a K-pop club for people interested in K pop, there is a reading club, Choir, Dance, Creative Writing, Freshers day, Graduation Day and many more.
  • There is a massive Sports building where there are facilities for many sports like swimming (one of the major sports played), badminton court, tennis court, yoga hall to name a few, they have many events every now and then.

Fees

  • 1. Total fees was 18,000 pounds- 4000pounds scholarship, Accommodation 8000 pounds/-
    2. The fees was taken semester wise.
    3. Monthly expenses came up to at least 100 pounds per month including shopping, transportation.
    4. As Indian nationals, we had to show at least Rs 21,000 in our bank account.
  • All Indians get a 4000 pounds scholarship.
  • The collection of fees was very smoothly done, we had the option of either paying it all together or semester wise, so there was not particular hassle in it.

Overview

For academic purposes it was quite engaging and a fulfilling experience. Where I was able to participate in various research groups. The professors were helpful and are still in touch with students. The university provided me that space of academic endeavor that I was looking for and an engaging student life.

Campus Life

The university was founded in 1967 officially and is located on the edge of Stirling city. The university is situated on the site of the historic Airthrey estate which includes the Robert Adam-designed 18th century Airthrey Castle. So yes, you can see that castle as well and take long evening strolls in the university across the lake. UoS ideally is a sports university so you can expect a lot of sports activities all year round. If you just want to play among your peers or might want to make new friends who play the sport that you like, then the university also has a concept of booking slots for playing. You can either come with a group or alone just to play with strangers. I remember making so many friends during my badminton games. But if sports aren't your thing and you're into gym fitness then there's 2-level gym for students along with Zumba, Cardio, Boxing classes being conducted regularly. Apart from that there are over 50+ clubs in the university providing extracurricular activities such as dance, boxing, cheerleading, reader's club, drama & theatre etc. WiFi is always available on the campus from gyms, cafeteria, hostel rooms, libraries, study zones inside of the library and seating/studying zones out of the library too. The university had its own grocery, cafe, pizza and pub place for students to really enjoy themselves. The university also provides a 2-3 level library which is accessible to all students. And during exam period they are fully functional with separate studying room. I actually remember pulling off all-nighters in the 3-floor study area and going back to my dorm room at 4 in the morning. Lastly, there's medical chamber inside the campus. So, for any of your requirements for MH, Physical health is taken seriously and with great care. There are coaches, therapists and counselors to always help and guide students apart from the academics. There's a lot of things that happen at UoS and sometimes it might feel like overwhelming or confusing. But I feel once you're able to catch hold of it, it's a great experience.

Overview

I chose Stirling because it is an affordable place to study in a nice location In order to get admission to this uni you must pass a degree with at least 80% mark in English but ielts is not necessary Then you must complete a statement of purpose why you want to study in the UK and send scanned copies of certificate proof to uni admission is between September and February I approached education consultancy uniark and they provide good service they help you get a UK visa fast.

Campus Life

The campus life is perfect and the exposure students get is good. There is a library block with different subjects and journals necessary for the course curriculum. There is also a sports management team in the university to oversee the inspection of ground maintenance. There is a round-the-clock medical service clinic on campus and you can get the service of a psychologist if needed. There is a freshers fest for new students and there is a student club to help international students with their admission queries. There is a university coop run by students.

Overview

Overall, in terms of academics and infrastructure, my time at the university was Fabulous and one that I will cherish forever. Stirling is a town which comes lively only because of the number of students who reside there and go to the University. I definitely grew a lot professionally and personally during my time at the University. If the placement system was a tad bit better I think it would have been cherry on the cake especially for International students.
