I recommend the university based on campus life and infrastructure

I applied for the following universities: Oxford Brookes University (Shortlisted) Anglia Ruskin University (Shortlisted) University of Stirling (Admitted) I received offer letters from all 3 universities mentioned above but I decided to go for the University of Stirling. I haven’t received rejection from any University Although I haven’t personally faced any rejection, as a Career Coach and Study Abroad Consultant I have seen some of my students face the same. The primary reason I found was the lack of honesty and authenticity in their application forms. Some of them created their cover letters through AI and simply pasted those in the application – without making any change. Some of my students didn’t properly go through the entry requirements before submitting their applications, which caused rejections too. Factors that influenced my decision: The other 2 Universities were from England, whereas the University of Stirling was from Scotland. I learnt and heard firsthand that Scotland provided better education than England, which influenced my decision. While researching, I realised that Living Cost is far less in Scotland (especially in Stirling) than in England. This piece of information was key in my decision-making. The picturesque campus and its ranking, both for the course I was pursuing and for the student support, were excellent, which motivated my decision. The quality of life and safety were far better in Scotland than in England. It heavily influenced my parents while decision-making. I read many positive testimonials from International Students which made me confident about my choice. I knew that I might need to travel to bigger cities in search of a job. The location of Stirling and its close distance from Bigger Cities like Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh was another reason to choose Stirling, which is cheaper yet better placed. Admission Process: I applied at the University of Stirling with my CV, academic transcripts and the motivational letter. After submission it went to the review team and I received regular updates from the team. The team asked for some more documents like my Passport, Reference Letters etc. Then they were satisfied and provided me with a conditional offer letter, which I fulfilled by proving the financial and language requirements they asked for. I also paid the CAS fee, which led to receiving the Unconditional offer letter and the CAS. It was necessary for submitting my student visa. Language Requirements: The University of Stirling asked for IELTS 6.5 or certificates from my previous University on my language proficiency. As my previous study and the assessments were all in English, I easily submitted a certificate from my previous University in India. They were satisfied and didn’t ask for IELTS. Experience: My admission experience was just top-notch. The only issue I faced was the lack of knowledge of the consultant here in India about life and work in the UK. The knowledge they shared pre-departure was mostly vague, on a surface level and not so accurate. 1: I went for the 2019 september intake. I decided to go to the UK during January 2019, and the closest intake was the September Intake and this was the main reason behind choosing september intake. I applied to 5 Universities: University of East London University of Essex University of Strathclyde University of Stirling Oxford Brookes University I got accepted into all of them. No rejections from any and I was really grateful. If I were to be rejected in any, my grades could’ve been the reason because I am an average student when it comes to academics. The only factor that influenced my decision was that it was a countryside experience – the one I’ve always wanted, living in a very crowded city like Delhi. Also the weather – I like rainy and cold weather. The steps were to apply by writing an SOP and submitting a few documents like past grades and certificates. Also, the waiting time to get accepted can be very hard but then receiving an acceptance letter is the best. I don’t remember the eligibility criteria clearly but it was to get above 65-70% in 12th grade. I didn’t have to give any IELTS or GMAT because I was going for undergrad and I studied in an English-medium school since the beginning. My overall admission experience was very easy and smooth; the waiting part was the toughest. Writing an SOP that would get the university’s attention was also something that felt like a milestone. Everything else was great I applied for the September 2023 intake; it was a good decision, as most of the students start from there, and the dissertation happens at the end of it, whereas for the January intake, they give the dissertation in the second-last semester. Applied for around 4 colleges, which were: 1. University of Stirling(admitted) 2. University of Edinburgh(admitted) 3. Glasgow University(rejected) 4. University of Reading(admitted) The first response I got was from the University of Stirling which was my first priority. Got accepted in Edinburgh and Reading too but since I had already accepted the offer from University of Stirling, I did not go ahead with them. My honest answer to why I got rejected from Glasgow University is I don't know, they had not really mentioned the reason for the rejection. I mainly chose University of Stirling because I was impressed with the campus environment and secondly they had good programs and this was one of the very few colleges that had the course I had taken. So for University of Stirling, I first got an e mail saying I have been accepted to the program, then with the help of SIUK i went ahead with the other process which included me sending my documents for the VISA application, which included my educational certificates, Aadhar card, bank statement, 2 passport size photos, health certificate(TB), Personal statement which had to be 500 letters not less not more.  I gave my IELTS before applying to colleges and usually UK colleges require atleast a score of 7. Overall the admission process was very smooth for me, thanks to SIUK. There were no particular challenges. I applied to the September intake as I was on contract base work before that and I wanted to take a break and enhance my skills in psychology and hence I thought it was the right time to apply.  The admission process took me almost 2 to 3 months. For academic purposes it was quite engaging and a fulfilling experience. Where I was able to participate in various research groups. The professors were helpful and are still in touch with students. Overall, in terms of academics and infrastructure, my time at the university was Fabulous and one that I will cherish forever. Stirling is a town which comes lively only because of the number of students who reside there and go to the University. I definitely grew a lot professionally and personally during my time at the University.
