Remarks
The facilities could have been brought to more of an updated level. And the faculty can be made more accessible to the students. Also the University Administration has a peculiarity of making rules and not informing the students, which can be removed.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is a tad bit obselete but it has imporved for the years after I got the admission. The structure is semester wise with noew courses in each semester. Examination structure is 50 precent internal marks, through hourlies and practicals (if applicable) and 50 percent through external semester final exam.
Placement Experience
Placements are an unsatisfactory affair. The companies are usually start ups with a package of 4 lpa. maximum. Otherwise there are none. The college doesn't provide internships, you have to search for one yourself. My experience was not very good.
College Events
There are various fests in the college organized by multiple societies. Major among these are LITROSPHERE, the annual science and literary fest; ACCOLADE and COLOSSEUM, which are also organized by the Engineering and Technology Society.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It being a government college, the fees is feasible and affordable. The system is semester wise and tuition for each semester is about Rs. 25,000. Since hostels are manadatory, an added cost of the mess and other services totals to about Rs 50,000 per semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
The state government offers a Tuition Fees Waiver for selected students, who are financially weaker. The college itself offers a topper's scholarship to the 3 toppers of each branch of every year. The loan facility is now known to me.
Campus Life
There are usually events around the calender, but most of them are organized by the student bodies. The college has no part in those. Labs are unsatisfactory in the Computer Department, and I can say in other departments as well. Sports facilities are actually very good and teams exist for each major sport.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels, as I said are manadatory, unless you're a resident of Pantnagar itself. The mess in the hostels is privately owned and is not up to the mark. The facilities are also not very good. But the infrastructure is satisfactory.
Alumni/Alumna
The Alumni Cell, which is the part of ETS is the bridge between Alumni and the students. The seniors are really helpful and supporting. You can usually see juniors hanging around with their seniors at Choti Market and Brijwasi Canteen. It really is a very nice culture.
Admission
I got the admission via counselling through Uttarakhand Technical University. The selection procedure was online and was based on JEE Mains rank. A state merit list was released and selected candidates had to appear at campus for registration.
Faculty
The faculty is well qualified according to the departments. Even though the quantity in the Computer department is less, new temporary teachers have been hired through TEQUIP-3. Otherwise it is satisfactory.
