Dislikes
- Well, one of the most awkward thing that I found at my college is that the teachers ask for a fine even for a petty mistakes or faults. They operate a very strict rules and regulations even for the unnecessary acts.
- The class timings are sometimes much prolonged which causes trouble for the students who had not brought their tiffins or took any meal.
- Finally, our college is not concerned with the internship of the students which is not very suitable for students hoping to pursue even a more higher studies besides the academy life.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well, the most important thing about choosing this course regarding the curriculum was that it provided me with a very ample source of knowledge helping me to grow and improve myself at the same time. The curriculum directly and indirectly prepared me to appear for the upcoming competitive exams. It impart me a quality education to make the best use of all the available resources offered during the studies. Some of the things that I would like to suggest to improve for the course curriculum is that, it should include and update the most important syllabus that contributes more to a career building or exam oriented strategy. The frequency of the exams conducted were sometimes two to three times a week. The exam timing was set to 3 hours and time management becomes a very concerning thing which contributes to a massive difficulty to the students when writing the answers.
Fees and Financial Aid
Well, the institution that I had attended was a Catholic based institution. The fees were on the basis of installment which ranges upto 14000 per semester. The overall amount of all the six semesters was around 84000 including the tuition fees, caution fees, development fees, lab fees and other necessary fees. I stayed at a hostel nearby my college and was paying around 6000 every month. Some of the fees of my batchmates was ranging somewhere around 100000 who preferred to take up extra subjects and groups that are inclined with personal development and other extra co curricular activities. The scholarship scheme available during our college days was quite welcoming offering every student about 13000 - 17000 respectively based on the merit criteria.
Campus Life
Well, our college truly offers the students with all the necessary facilities and activities promoting to facilitate and grow in every aspects of life. Some of the names of the annual festivals that were held at our college were Euphoria, a sports event which is generally held at the month of October or November, Alumni Meet. The books, journals or texts offered by our college library were very vast and sufficient for the students willing to learn more for themselves. Our institution have all the modern technologies installe such as the CCTV'S, electricity, water tank, projector, etc...The college holds many sports and extra curricular activities every year. All the students are given a choice to join any groups provided by the college such as the Eco club, Music club, Peace Club, NCC, etc...
Hostel Facilities
Well, the hostel where I stayed was very convenient and standard. The hostel offers us with bed, table, and washroom. The quality of meal provided at the hostel was not that very special nor bad. The registration process of the hostel was that one has to take a receipt from the proprietor to fill the names, dates, addresses, etc....and submit it to them respectively. It was a bit costly according to my budget.
Admission
The most important story about me choosing this college was that it was a Catholic based institution and fortunately I happened to complete my secondary schooling days from the same Catholic institution itself. Besides this college, I have applied for any other colleges nor have I faced rejection. The admission process of our college was based on the percentage of marks obtained during the schooling days at 10th and 12th respectively. Students getting more than 60% and above was eligible for getting admitted to the college. There was an entrance exam like in any other colleges and the cut off was around 0.33% with regard to the total marks which is 100. It was a very memorable experience.
Faculty
Well, the course structure during our college days included of six to seven subjects at most. Since, it was an arts stream institution the exam systems and marking schemes was quite peculiar than the other streams. The exams were conducted in four sections namely a class test, model test, quarterly test and final. The marking was set at 100 for all the subjects. The ratio of faculty to student stands at 2:7 approximately. The relationship between the student and faculty was not that mean. Everyone was free and open to ask or seek assistance whenever required. Some of my most favorite faculties during my college days were Ma'am Adenuo, Sir Loku and Ma'am Pinky. I liked them because they understands my strengths and weaknesses and imparts helps when I'm facing any kinds of difficulties during my learning sessions. They really contributed a lot towards my overall wellbeing and improvements in my course of studies. Some of the faculties that I didn't like were Sir Seamz and Sir Himan. I faced lots of difficulties while dealing with them since they lay unnecessary questions and acts whenever I tried to approach them in a very welcoming and deligent manner. There were four exams for every semesters. Around 11- 14 students failed to clear the exams due to some personal or issues in the family. The course curriculum was more or less a very beneficial and appreciative for the overall growth and progress for the students.
Night Life
The college life in and around the institution was very pleasant and welcoming at the same time. Our college runs it's own canteen and the public areas surrounding our institution was packed with many small shops, bakery stores, etc... Yes, the locality is safe to roam at night.
