Remarks

The university is highly recommended for a better education system. They have four campuses offering a lot of programs. You will experience a new life in this university for sure. You will learn not just course but also a social life.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is designed in a way that we completely learn about every single detail of a forest community. The main concepts are silviculture, biodiversity, forest management, laws, policy, forest products, the chemistry of forest products, wildlife conservation, forest biotechnology and many more. We also have field study and practicals. There is a project for every PG degree.

Placement Experience

3.5

The university has a career and placement cell where we are trained to fit into any job but we have to find the job on our own. We can either go with competitive exams or further studies. You can also start-up your own business ideas.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is framed in such away to help all the students to learn what they love. The fees will differ for various streams. For science stream it will be around ?.3000 for each semester. Apart from this you need to pay the caution deposit at the time of admission.

Fees and Financial Aid

We are allowed to apply for all the eligible scholarships as per the UGC guidelines. The university has adopted the policy of Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship. All economically weaker and meritorious students are helped with scholarship facility.

Campus Life

We have a various clubs to enhance students in social participation. The NSS cell and sports club supports physical education. There are also cells that work responsibly to save students from unwanted problems. They are cell to eliminate sexual harassment, anti-ragging cell, grievance redressal cell. A special NET coaching is given to students from economically backward status.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facilities are provided in each campus of the university. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The research scholars are alloted with 1 block in both boys and girls hostel. All other blocks are for PG students. A fee amount of ?.2,500 to be paid in subsequent terms. The rooms are provided with basic amenities and a healthy food diet is given to the students. The mess fees is not included in the room rent.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is widespread group of students all around the world. They are found to stay connected with the institution and look into the needs of the students. They help us by sharing their success path and uplifts us from hard times.

Admission

The method of applying into this university is only through their online admission portal. I applied for M.Sc., Forest Science. There was an admission test followed by interview and release of merit selection list. I had a score of 83% in my UG degree and good performance in test. So I had been selected for this program. There is another special offer for the past students of Nagaland University. They say that they are provided with extra 6% to add up their UG percentage. This is called bonus weightage during admission process.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties are exceptionally specialized in each paper of forest science. We have 3 guest faculties. The young NET qualified staff are also a part of our department. Miss Adangaro Jamir is specialized in silviculture & forest management, while our Imokokla Imsong sir is specialized in biodiversity & ecology.

The exam timing , i would say that its very less for students as we are allowed to write for only 3 hrs so for i think it should be. At least 4 hrs .

Remarks:

Our college has all the infrastructures that a student need for basic learning but not all for a complete standardized exposure linked to our talents. The attendance weight age is quite attentively followed and students may be dropped just because of the attendance. It's quite far from here town so, usually alot of people stay in the hostel, and staying in the hostel seems to be painful since the areas adjoin the college is a highway, and we don't have access to towns and good shops nearby in order to get our need full filled. Apart from my studies I'm also having a good time with my professors.
