AEC review: from a BE perspective

In generally a good college. No restrictions of any kind. Teaching is good. But infrastructure is not upto the mark. You get enough time to prepare for GATE GRE UPSC etc. Negative bit is because of no restrictions students tend to be laid back in nature towards studies. Added to that lack of infrastructure you may feel demotivated. But enjoy you stay in the 400acre big campus. Deepor beel is near to our college so you can enjoy the view.

The curriculum is very good. If you are sincere and willing to work hard on you own after classes there is no doubt that you wont be placed or get a good rank in GATE GRE UPSC. Exam structure is semester type. You have to appear for 6 subjects every sem till 6th. After that you have 5 subjects and a project. Exam is not very difficult.

Placement statistics may not be upto the mark because of various rules of placement cell, and because students here donot take studies very seriously. But if you are sincere then there are very very good offers that you must earn, lot of companies go empty handed. All of the students do internship at very good PSU because of the alumni network. I got NEC scholarship- 13400 per year If your family income is beloe a limit you can apply for ishanuday scholarship which gives 8-9000 per month.

Pyrokinesis and udbhavanam. Pyro is very very good. You can enjoy a lot. It is generally a 3-4day event. It starts from evening, goes on till early morning. Udbhavanam is technical in nature. workshops and all. So ymif you are inclined towards it you can do some work as well

Fee structure is the best part. Apart from hostel fees and fooding, college cost is roughly 40,000 in 4years. If you take hostels i think it is 6000 in 4years. Mess charges are around 2500 per month. So a very pocket friendly college.

No I did not take any loan. But there is a poor students scholarship. And if I am not wrong, poor students have free education scheme. And almuni association also have some schemes for poor students. But generally speaking the cost of living is so low that there is no need for loans.

Udbhavanam is the technical fest. There will be many workshops. There are big grounds- 8 of them, one per hostel. and there is a seperate basketball court. You can play anything you want. Labs are not upto the mark, but they should be sufficient if you give your time. The major tournaments of state level- state level psu, govt enterprises teams conduct events at our grounds.

No i did not take hostel. I was a day scholar. Infra is not upto the mark. Not enough rooms to accommodate all students. But best part is no restriction in hostels. And the hostels also have internet which is very fast. I will rate it 7/10.

Alumni network is very good. It is churning out graduates since 1955. But to contact them is a bit tough job. Seniors are decent. Alumni network donates many infrastructure to the college. And since they arr in many psu, psu like OIL renovated our hostels.

You are eligible to join after 12th. In our time there was CEE entrance exam. You mist have atleast 50% in your HS then only you can join. After ranklist is given branch & college is given according to rank in the exam. You can also enter after diploma.

Faculty is very good. Most of them have completed Masters and PhD from IIT/IISc. But they may not be very good at teaching. So you have to work hard on your own. They may or may not be supportive depending upon the individual. But they are generally friendly.
