Course Curriculum Overview

5

I have always been set on studying psychology and delhi university was one of the best which were offering this course. And i got into the best renouned college for psychology so I truly am greatful. And i think the curriculum includes all that is needed and necessary to again insights into the psyche of humans.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for each semester is ?35,100 . That is what I had paid in the first semester and I believe that is what I have to pay for the coming semesters as well . I think that it is a reasonable fee especially being in a government owned institute because we get quality education as well especially my department because Daulat Ram College is quite renouned to be excellent in concern with psychology department. Iam also currently residing in the college hostel which I can review it to be quite decent . The good part especially being that it is inside the campus and us surrounded by greenery which I find to be particularly pleasant. For, ?1, 68,940 I think the hostel is decent. Apart from this the students studying in our college is also benefitted from the scholarships which are provided from the national scholarship portal which provides several different scholarship schemes funded by the government.I think there could be still a handful of development which could be acquired for the betterment of all. But overall I'm satisfied with the necessary facilities. As the college provides all the basic necessities.

Campus Life

5

Festivals are celebrated with quite an extravagance. Which is quite good as I really enjoyed the diwali mela last year and our freshers were also organised quite decently. Apart from that as I'm only a fresher in the first year I am yet to experience the college fest so i am in no position to comment on it but I am looking forward to it.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel is quite pleasant as it is surrounded by greenery all around. The garden is well maintained and I sometimes like to sit in the grass and read. The food is also okay be it does not satisfy my taste buds as I come from the Northeast part of India in which our cuisines are entirely different. It is also safe and more affordable as comparing to PGs.

Admission

I only planned to come to delhi university ever since I completed my high school. And I only took admission here. At first I was alloted to be in kamla Nehru College in South campus during the CSAS allocation and I was suddenly upgraded to Daulat Ram College for which I am greatful.I believe it to be so because I am blessed with a good faculty and I have met a great lot of people.

Faculty

5

I really like my faculty and i am really glad that I got into this college because my teachers are all nice. And i consider myself lucky to have gotten into this college and I truly am grateful for their mentorship. And overall Daulat Ram College is really well known for their strong faculty in the department of psychology. I also met a great lot of people in this department. None of them are rude in any sense they are the nicest people I have met. And I truly am greatful. And i think that my department is the best in this college.

Night Life

5

I live in our college hostel not to mention our curfew is at 7pm so I'm not prevailed upon to enjoy the nightlife at my leisure. But usually I like to take a walk along the university campus area and explore famous street foods. Especially the pani puris, Mr beans cold coffee and roaming around kamla nagar. I like eat sweets at Theobromas, explore the market and shop for clothes, jeweleries etc. But at the end of the day I enjoy just having dinner with my friends and winding down in my bed and have a good rest.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
