Academics , Exposure and Campus life at SVC

The syllabus strongly focuses on fundamentals and basics for commerce industry roles and gives a solid base for future studies but it does not have the modern technical touch and relevance to the current job market , particularly practical exposure is lacking and needs to be improved on . Further use of technology and integration of AI tools and how,when to use them should be taught and the frequency of exams is fine but the time span should be spread out over the entire semester as all subjects have ther internal tests during the same week

- the fees is 22855 per year currently only paid for one year - exam charges for final exams are paid seperate on DU portal according to the subjects - most course fees lie around the 60-70 thousand ruppee mark - there are scholarships schemes such as NSP , central sector scholarship , merit based scholarship and post matric government scholarships

I would say the overall campus life is positive and lively with there being at least something for each and every person . College provides many opportunities in fostering this environment . The annual fest is NEXUS held in february usually , books in library contain publications for every course and subject , classrooms are equipped with smartboards , active sports activities are there with daily practice . There are a multitude of student run social groups which acts as a medium for growth for us students as we explore new things

I chose SVC as it has the best balance of academics and exposure alongside peer quality and alumni network , while i applied for colleges like SRCC and Hindu i did not clear the cutoffs for this course . The admission process was convenient as everything was done online and hassle-free . CUET entrance exam is the eligibility criteria for cutoffs

There exists a mentor-mentee program with the faculty for detailed guidance and support and some teachers do go above and beyond , and are very approachable . Although some teachers dont interact and do not help students . Commerce faculty is mostly nice and understanding as based on personal experience although the economics department has failed to impress with classes failing to clear basic concepts . Exams are quite easy and scheduled well in advance with most subjects have 1/2 internal tests only

students generally hangout at the nearby cafes and hubs , inside the college campus though the canteen and maggipoint are most famous for unwinding after classes which helps students relax after lectures common areas and lawns exist for personal use and social interaction . Hostels have fixed entry and exit timings present in the campus itself . Nearby areas include satya niketan ,sarojni nagar and hauz khas which are all reasonably safe.
