What Students Say
Likes
- College campus is very good, faculties of mathematics department are also good and reliable, college canteen has good and hygeinic food. Social life and interactions is appreciable. Lots and lots of opportunities are there. One can get a good exposur
- The faculities has their experties in their particular field and the teaching idea is also okay but not that good. The infrastructure of the college is very good and has a spacious library and canteen
- The cource which i persue i.e. mathematics honours has a wide scope and a structured curriculum (good to go for it) if one has to gain immense knowledge about mathematics.
Dislikes
- Things i disliked about my college is the administrative work as it takes alot of time for a certain work and student has to move here and there inorder to get a certian thing done
- Secondly, one can get a manual knowledge about the cource (thoroughly) but not the practical one, as the syllabus is kinda orthodox
- The examination system may improve, and ya thats it
Course Curriculum Overview
There are many aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the cource, as it is a practical cource with a core mathematical idea in it, a comprehensive knowledge about the mathematics world and the practical tools required in data science. The curriculum prepares one for the real world applications or furthur academic pursuits, some factors can be improved in the syllabus definitely and for the frequency and timing of exams is 3 hours for the 90 marks paper which is fare enough according to the difficulty level.
Internships Opportunities
There is a society named placement cell, that offers per month around 6-7 internship opportunities to 2nd and 3rd year students and sometimes even 1st year students, depending upon the role ehet it is technical, analytical or commercial. Mainly commerce students have a plus point here because mainly companies requires tally and other financial data base
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees for bsc(hons) mathematics is 50k (approx). The fee for 1st year was somewhere around 15000 and for the 2nd year, it increased by 3k which became 18k which includes tution fees, registration fees, lab fees and development fees. There is not as such compensation, on the catrgory basis, but there do exist some scholarship or a concession for those whose family income is probably less than 8L
Campus Life
The name of the annual fest is mridang and it takes place in the month of feb-march. In the library, there are almost books available which one needs. Since it an old campus, so theres not much ammenities in classroom but its very spacious and proper ventilated About the sports and extra curricular activities, college offers kabaddi, badminton, basketball, table tennis, cricket, football etc There has been alot of societies in the college which help in social growth and alot of exposure
Admission
With Delhi University, i'd applied to banaras hindu university also and since i admitted into du, and ya, the cource which i wanted to persue has a comprehensive syllabus in du. I did not get rejected from any colleges as i did not filled the form of many college but since i admitted into du, which i wanted to so i cam here to hava an immense knowledge about mathematics. About the admission process, there is an entrance exam called cuet through which admission takes place in du, in which one need 720+ to secure a seat into a college which is situated in north campus
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio for the mathematics department is 1:10 and about the relationship, there can be a very good relationship between the faculties and the students, the faculties are very good and approvhable, i like probably every faculties, all or good and have immense knowledge in theri particular department. Exams are categorized under 2 parts i.e. internal and externals. Internal comprises of 70 marks which includes class test, assignment, attendance and for the rest 90 marks, examination helds at the end of the semester.
Night Life
Umm, so yeah, ZHDC has probably no night life since it is an off campus college and being in an area like daryaganj, theres no hangout placees like north campus but in day, during college hours, the campus itself is enough to explore and socialize
