Course Curriculum Overview
My course, Political science honours was one of my very relevant decisions as I am interested in administration and International relations. The course broadens the scope in civil services. The exams usually set standard papers which would help us to increase our knowledge and our writing skills in the shortest period of time.
Internships Opportunities
We have specific societies like the Placement Cell exclusively for placements. They grant both on-campus and off-campus placements organising internship drives to the students for recruitment . Webinars and conferences on entrepreneurship and Research.
Placement Experience
As far as I know, Daulat Ram College provides a placement of 650000 PA. However, I am unaware of the placement data neither do I know the companies they get placements to. But, if I get an opportunity I would like to receive placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fee structure of Daulat Ram College, Delhi University varies from course to course. I am pursuing Political science honours and my annual fees was around 32000/-. However, I have noticed that the fees of other colleges of North Campus is comparatively lesser than DRC. This might be because they provide strong facilities like labs, library and gyms.
Campus Life
The annual fest of Daulat Ram College is MANJARI. They are typically held in the month of March. Our library is too good with proper infrastructure and space giving access to a variety of books, newspapers and journals.
Admission
I applied in Delhi University through CUET and to Calcutta University through the WBCAP. My first preference in DU was Miranda house and Lady Shri Ram or St. Stephen's as they are known for their strong faculties. However, I couldn't get enough marks to get there. I got confirmed admission in Lady Brabourne but still chose Delhi University.
Faculty
Some of the faculty members are strong and professional as well as approachable. In my Political science department I would say Suranjita ma'am, she puts a lot of efforts in making us understand the concepts. We had Mid semester exams in the month of November and End semester in December. The paper pattern is standard and the curriculum is very relevant.
Night Life
The locality is quite safe to roam. But I am not in the hostel hence I am not unaware of the nightlife safety. The cafeteria is affordable and has multiple food options at the cheapest prices. The gym has a specific timing from 10am to 12pm as far as I know.
