- The environment of the entire college..It is comparitively chill and they give support and encouragement for various activites be it academic or non academic
- The teachers are good and supportive and help you a lot.
- The overall crowd in the college is nice and fun..you can find all types of people and haangout with those who best vibe with you...A good experience of my college life would be my friends too..
Dislikes
- The worst part about BMSCE has to be the management. They never do things properly on time and make decisions which is inconvient for everyone and stresses everyone out including the teachers...Really bad management
- Campus size i guess..it is comparitively small
- Overpopulation...Again maybe a consequence of small campus but over intake by management is ruining BMSCE
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum has the necessary subjects of the branch...It is constantly updated every year to adhere to relevancy and comphrehensiveness of the course..My department of AIML teaches us the necessary computer subjects such as Nature Inspired computing, Deep learning etc and also the Maths and Stats whch is required for machine learning is though too ( Like Maths for machine learn and statistical modellign, inferential statistics, time series analysis etc)..These subjects also have lab components which help us prepare for real-world applications. But some of the older subjects on the other hand which might be core computer science or in first year..common subjects like CAED and others are not required and outdated. The frequency and timings of exams is moderate..neither good nor bad
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are divided into basically three parts: COMEDK,KCET & Management Quota COMEDK:- this is through the comedk entrance exam for engineering colleges in karnataka for students around INDIA..the fees is about INR 267000/- per year(can change accordingly yearly) KCET:Entrace exam only for the students of karnataka.. fees about 95000 to 1 Lakh INR...may be even lesser if applied other Quota (Like SNQ etc) Management: this admission does not require any entrance test..basic eligibility criteria of passing 12th with the required marks...the fees can vary according to branch from 10 Lakh per year for CSE branches to 2-3 Lakh per year for Civil/Medical Electronics branches.
Campus Life
The Overall campus life at my college is pretty enjoyable. The club culture is prevelant with many cultural and technical clubs, hosting year events year around. There are two main fests held- the technical 2-day fest "PHASESHFT" during the odd semsters and the cultural 3 -day fest "UTSAV" during the ven semesters. The books in the library are related to course material and are highly accesable.. The library also has systems with Previous year papers, IEEE papers and plagarism checkers to help assist the student. Each departement has their own technical provisions.. For example my department has the BSN laboratory which helps students to work on projects and provide them with fast and able system to assist them. The sports and extracurricular activities are also very prevelant with various teams for different sports such as cricket, football kho-kho etc.. We also have an indoor statium for sports like badminton, basketball, table tennis, chess etc. All the branches have their own Clubs..The club of AIML is gradient and they host events and hackathons all related to AIML.likewise they are other IEEE societies also present.
Admission
Other colleges were not chosen as my rank wasn't suffecient enough. Comparitively to other entrance exams the best colllege with my rank would have been BMS. Hence the reason for choosing it..Admission process is throgh competetive exams or management quota.Competetive exams taken are COMEDK and KCET...the cutoff ranks again depend on the branch but go as low as 2000 for CS and related branches and upto 50000 for Civil and others..it can go even higher if reservation applied)
Faculty
The faculty in BMSCE are really nice and supportive...it truly depends from department to department but the AIML department teachers are really nice and supportive..They teach well, help you if any doubt regarding anything...They are experienced and have knowledge in their field..The faculty to student ratio is balanced..The faculties are very approachable..we have subjects which include lab component and theory component...each according to the subject's CO..2 internals and one final external and assigments comprise the marking structure..the syllabus is VTU since my colege is affileated with VTU
Night Life
There are plenty of areas around my college like gandhi bazaar, vidyarthi bhavan(one of the oldest restaurants opened in 1943) etc.. There are known famous local eatiers all around the college popular among students where students often go to hangout and eat. There are a lot of local gyms and cult fit around the college and the college itself has a gym..2 infact, one for day scholars and one for hosteliers I am a day scholar so i do not have much idea but if i'm not wrong according to my hostel friends the hostel night timings are until 10:00 pm in the night. There is hostel in the campus itself and students at night just walk in and around the campus too and hangout at night. pretty fun
