Remarks
Most of the given remarks are positive. The overall conclusion is always positive being the 2nd nest NIT in the NIRF rankings. Negative points just include the hostel mess foods which can be improved and the present facilities are good for extracurricular activities and sports but they can still improved.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is set after a thorough discussion among the faculty. The present curriculum is set to suit the requirements of the desired branch. The curriculum is in a way to improve our technical knowledge and become fit for job after graduation as well as for further studies. The exam pattern consists of three parts per semester. A total of 100marks is divided three parts. 50marks for end semester, 30marks for mid semester, 20marks internal assessment given by teacher.
Placement Experience
Job opportunities and placements are good. They are better than most of the college in the country. Very few remain unplaced. All of them get a decent package and some of them get their dream package. Yes, internships are provided. The on campus internship recruiters come from day 0 of the beginning of the penultimate year. They hire them for 2months with a decent stipend and based on their performance they even give PPOs.
College Events
All the festivals are celebrated in the college. Apart from them three fests of NitR are scheduled. A technical, a cultural and other sports. The technical is named as Innovision and its basically all about the technical stuff. Nitrutsav is the cultural fest in which all cultural events take place along with celebrity night. Other one is the sports fest, Vriddhi in which inter college sports events occur.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is a little expensive, becoming 1lakh per semester for general category students without any fee waiver. There are fee waviers for other groups of students based on the category and household income.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are different scholarships provided to you by some alumni or the institute itself bases on your CGPA. The scholarships are provided to the needy one's based on their family income. Study loans are provided.
Campus Life
When it comes to Nits the extracurricular activities are pretty good. The institution has various clubs to be a part of. They include all the extracurricular activities. The labs are equipped with good technology and instruments. The overall facilities are very good.
Hostel Facilities
Yes. Hostel infrastructure is pretty good with all the basic facilities. Sports and gym facilities are provided separately for each of the hostels along with a study room, TV room and common halls. The mess facility of hostels is not up to the mark but adjustable.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes there is an alumni association of the institute. They help the students with scholarships and they conduct events which are very helpful to gain knowledge about future plans. This association also helps the students to get some help after graduation.
Admission
I appeared JEE Main entrance exam. After scoring a decent rank in the exam, the seat allotted was rhrough Jossa counselling. I had to fill the choices of the required seat in different colleges with branch in the preferential order. I was alloted the seat according to my rank after 7rounds of counselling.
Faculty
The faculty are good and have good knowledge of the subject. Most of them have completed their PhD, so its obvious to have a good subject knowledge and also the teaching skills. Some of their teaching skills maynot be that great, but overall it's good.
